ISTANBUL — Saudi agents were waiting when Jamal Khashoggi walked into their country’s consulate in Istanbul two weeks ago. Mr. Khashoggi was dead within minutes, beheaded, dismembered, his fingers severed, and within two hours the killers were gone, according to details from audio recordings described by a senior Turkish official on Wednesday.

Another anonymous source who heard an audio recording (no video?) and describes it?

We can wait. This is not proof of anything other than the desire of the Turks to keep this story alive so that it brings the desired results. President Trump is not buying. Neither am I.

NYT "reporting" on what an anonymous "Turkish official" claims.

Two layers of BS right there.

This is an Iran-Turk operation against SA, they are very unhappy with SA being friends with USA, trying to drive a wedge.

Another big question: Why? Why do all of that and within minutes?

A well-known writer opined that Christine Ford’s story went too far, too many embellishments, and finally sunk of its own (uncorroborated) weight. Is this another such story? They Turks have to know that Americans are appalled by beheading and dismemberment. It would not have been enough to just have him kidnapped or killed.

Read the article. Turkish government leaks to Turkish government paper.

As the Saudis and the Americans tried to put the crisis behind them, the brutality described in the leaks served as a reminder of why Mr. Khashoggi’s disappearance has triggered an international backlash more severe than countless mass killings or rights violations.

The brutality vividly described is intended to trigger an international backlash. You betcha.

Excuse additional post. It seems the audio purportedly came from Khashoggi’s own iWatch.

It remains unclear how Turkish officials managed to acquire the audio recording that was recorded by the allegedly slain writer. The evidence and the recording could have been obtained using intercepted communications or audio surveillance, the Times reported.

But it’s unlikely the Turkish government will acknowledge the techniques used out of fear of compromising intelligence sources or admitting that they may have violated international law.

There would be blood, lots and lots of blood. More blood than can be quickly cleaned up if it could be cleaned up at all. Any hunter or farmer who cuts his own meat will tell you cleaning and dressing large animals is messy. That office would be covered in blood.

The liberal media is again jumping the gun, as the international investigation is just starting and who knows what the result will be?

In their rush to blame President Trump the liberal media themselves don’t have a clue as to what really happened, or what action that Trump may take. They should cool it until the US Government gets the full story and Trump decides on his actual response.

How do we even know Koshoggi is even actually dead? We have only the Turkish Government’s accusation of it don’t we?.

I wouldn’t put it past Koshoggi, the Muslim Brotherhood (of which Koshoggi is a member and operative of (and high school friend and co-conspirator of 0sama Bin ladin, by the way) and Erdogan to conspire to pull something like this to embarrass Prince Salman, the best moderating force against Wahabbism and other forms of radical islam that we have in many decades, and to drive a wedge between that moderating force and the US, and maybe even start a war over the most idiotic reasons.

And for those who haven´t been paying Attention, we have no friends in Turkey, and Erdogan is trying to become Caliph of Muzzielandistan, and sees the potentially moderating Saudis as a great impediment to his schemes.

And even if the Saudis did kill Koshoggi (cousin of and part-time salesman for the world’s most infamous arms dealer, by the way.) it is no loss to the civilized world.

It has been speculated that Mitt Romney’s Utah Senate seat could serve as a prelude to another Presidential run. In the most ambitious version of events, he could even challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 primaries, newly legitimized and augmented by his actions in the Capitol Building. This would allow moderate Republicans to reclaim their party’s mantle and unroot alt-right influences. But would Romney do it? His willingness to unequivocally challenge Trump could be seen either as a pro or con by Republicans, depending on their opinions of the sitting president.
