U.S. Job Boom Got Its
JOLT From Trumponomics

Investor´s Business Daily, by Staff

Jobs: How extraordinary is this job boom? The government says that the number of jobs available has never been higher. There were 7.14 million jobs in August ready to be filled, an increase from July´s 7.1 million, which was also a record. This is the best time in decades to be seeking a job, even if you´re unemployed. That´s the easily drawn conclusion from the Bureau of Labor Statistics´ Job Openings and Labor Turnover (JOLTs) report, which is important but gets much less attention than the monthly payroll jobs and unemployment numbers.

Another up side, presently employed will find opportunities to change to better paying jobs, the best way to increase your income and opportunity... that job changing will make room for a replacement who will gain the same benefit.. this is trickle up...

Yep, that Trump guy is a real nut, no way he can bring back "those jobs". /s off

The Zero informed us that "those jobs are not coming back".....the missing part was ´as long as I am president and as long as Dem policies are in place´.

This is because capitalism functions on the optimism and belief in the future... that investments will do well, that your business will thrive. Optimism, investing for future profits, public stockholder ownership of corporations. Ain´t capitalism great? Everyone gets to participate and make money.

Obama depressed and scared everyone. Racism! Oppression! Police violence! Hard to feel optimistic and invest in the future when fanatics are rioting in the street and burning your business down.

President Trump presented us with a vision of stability and growth in the future. Make America Great Again! Invest. Hire employees. Bring our forgotten industries such as coal and steel back to American production. Leftists absolutely hate it. They can only thrive when there is chaos, resentment, envy and violence they can exploit.

Support For Trump Border Wall Increases,
But Most Still Oppose — IBD/TIPP Poll

With no end in sight to the partial shutdown of the government, President Trump hasn´t convinced a majority of the public to back his position on the border wall at the center of the budget impasse. The latest IBD/TIPP poll shows that 53% of the public opposes construction of a wall along the southern border of the U.S. It found that 46% support the wall. Trump has managed to change some minds, however. Overall support for the wall climbed by three points since IBD/TIPP last polled on this question just before the November midterm elections.

Most people think President Trump´s critics are trying to use Special Counsel Robert Mueller´s investigation to delegitimize the 2016 elections, the latest IBD/TIPP Poll finds. And a plurality thinks the FBI investigation into Trump´s alleged ties to Russia was meant to rein him in. These findings come in the wake of a New York Times story Friday that claimed the FBI had opened a counterintelligence probe into Trump several months

Illegal Immigration: Democrats and the mainstream press accuse President Donald Trump of manufacturing a crisis at the border. The numbers tell another story. As soon as the words "growing humanitarian and security crisis at our Southern border" left Trump´s lips in his Oval Office address this week, Democrats and media "fact-checkers" were trying to dispel it as a deliberate lie. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Trump "must stop manufacturing a crisis, and must reopen the government."

Minimum Wage: New York City is one of a number of locales that increased its minimum wage to $15 an hour in the New Year. Already, early reports say, small businesses are struggling. Expect this to become a common refrain across the country. With the celebratory ringing in of the New Year, some 21 states, the nation´s capital and a growing number of cities across the country will impose a distinctly non-celebratory cost on their small businesses: A mandatory increase in the minimum wage. Of course, some of the minimum wage hikes won´t be much. But some will.

Socialized Medicine: In the midterm elections, Democrats told voters that all they wanted to do was preserve existing insurance protections in ObamaCare. But after winning the House, they revealed their true intention: to socialize health care any which way they can. Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agreed on hearings for "Medicare for all," which would effectively outlaw all private insurance in favor of a single, government-run plan. ´´It´s a huge step forward to have the speaker´s support,´´ Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., head of the "Medicare for all" House caucus,

Yeah, OK, conservatives. Guffaw all you want at 29-year-old political rock star Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The young lady is a gaffe machine. "Three chambers of government." "Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs." Getting tangled up in the facts in asserting that Pentagon savings could finance "Medicare for All." And yes — she did use the word "tippy-top" to describe upper-income taxpayers on "60 Minutes" in defending her recent proposal to skyrocket top rates to 70%. Meanwhile, how about Sen. Elizabeth Warren´s laughably transparent appeal to millennials with an Instagram beer slurp?

Voter Fraud: Democrats say they oppose President Trump´s demand for money to start building a border wall on moral grounds. More likely it´s because they know that unchecked immigration — legal or illegal — helps them win elections. If you don´t think so, look at what happened in California in the midterms. A recent Los Angeles Times article — titled "How young immigrant ´Dreamers´ made flipping control of the House a personal quest" — talked about how those who came to the country illegally as children had been running around California helping otherwise nonvoters fill out ballots.

Socialism: Newly minted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she isn´t modeling her brand of socialism on socialist basket cases like Venezuela, but on successes like Sweden, Norway and Finland. Apparently, she hasn´t bothered to look at just what sorts of economic policies those "socialist" countries have been pursuing lately. Net neutrality mania was so intense that one year ago FCC Chairman Ajit Pai had to cancel his appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show because of death threats he´d received. That was the same day the FCC published its final rule repealing "net neutrality." So-called experts predicted that removing this cumbersome Obama-era regulatory scheme — which granted the FCC virtually unchecked power

Radicalism: Some prominent Democrats are warning their party about its drift toward socialist policies and its endless attacks on President Trump. Is there anyone left in the Democratic Party who will listen? A few weeks ago, former California Gov. Jerry Brown said that he his party is out of touch with the mainstream, even in liberal California. On Thursday, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe blasted members of his own party for making "unrealistic ideological promises." "Ideological populism or relentless negativity are playing on Trump´s turf," McAuliffe writes in an Op-Ed published by the Washington Post.

Big Government: Despite all the hand-wringing about a government shutdown, President Donald Trump still has a strong hand. The amount he´s asking for is a relative pittance. And the shutdown is exposing how useless much of the federal government is. Start with Trump´s demand for $5 billion to start construction on the border wall. That number might sound like a lot, but it is less than a rounding error in the federal government´s $4 trillion annual budget. It´s the equivalent of going less than three miles on a 2,802-mile cross-country trip.

Miracles: When it comes to Christmas miracles, few can match Apollo 8, which was in orbit around the moon 50 years ago today. It still ranks as the most impossibly ambitious and borderline reckless space voyage ever attempted — even counting Apollo 11. And for a moment, it brought humanity together in a way that had never happened before or, arguably, since. When President Kennedy, in a speech to Congress in May 1961, set the goal of landing a man on the moon, the U.S. hadn´t even managed to put a man in orbit around the earth.

The former Fox News host lasted just 18 months at NBC News, but Page Six learned during the course of her negotiations

The Fight for $15 isn’t living up to its promise. For years, liberals have claimed that the minimum wage needs to increase to $15 an hour to provide a living wage for full-time workers. The stated goal, as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders writes on his website, is straightforward, “We must ensure that no full-time worker lives in poverty.” In one way, the campaign has been remarkably successful. California and New York are phasing in a statewide $15 an hour minimum wage. Numerous cities, including Seattle, Minneapolis and Washington D.C., have passed $15 an hour minimum wage
