Africa’s youngest billionaire was kidnapped Thursday while heading into a luxury hotel for his morning workout, according to reports. Mohammed “Mo” Dewji was abducted outside the oceanfront Colosseum Hotel and Fitness Club in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, BBC News reported. The kidnappers, two of whom were described as white men, fired shots into the air before peeling off with Dewji in a car, witnesses said. Dewji, 43, has a net worth of $1.5 billion and is

Really careless man, driving himself and no security. He should have built a gym in his home. It´s not like Africa is a civilized continent, but the same thing could have happened anywhere.

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Live,” Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe said President Donald Trump removing Attorney General Jeff Sessions and appointing Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general was a “slow motion constitutional crisis.” When asked why he believes the appointment of Whittaker is illegal, Tribe said, “The fundamental reason is the U.S. Constitution in Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2 makes it absolutely clear that a principal officer of the United States, that is somebody who exercises enough power so he’s answerable only to the president,

With his investiture ceremony Thursday, Brett Kavanaugh is finally, formally Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. But the fight over his nomination goes on. The battle is not being fought by Democratic dead-enders who cannot accept that Kavanaugh won confirmation despite the sexual misconduct allegations against him. Instead, the fight is being led by Sen. Charles Grassley, the Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who is still angry at the way those unverified and in some cases evidence-free allegations sidetracked his committee´s work, and nearly the nomination itself.

U.S. stocks soared with the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumping 545 points, moving above the 26,000 level for the first time in a month. Investors celebrated the outcome of the midterm elections that had the Democrats taking back the house and the Republicans maintaining hold of the Senate. A "best case scenario" for U.S. equities, according to several strategists. All three major U.S. averages jumped a healthy 2 percent plus.

SAN FRANCISCO – Acting on a tip from law enforcement, Facebook has removed more than 100 accounts – 30 on Facebook, 85 on Instagram – engaging in coordinated activity in French, English and Russian, raising the possibility that foreign actors are attempting to meddle on the eve of the U.S. midterm elections. Facebook said it was alerted Sunday night to the suspicious activity that law enforcement believe may be linked to foreign entities and blocked the accounts in question. Almost all the Facebook pages appear to be in French or Russian

A talking point has taken hold in the final hours of midterm election campaigning. The economy is booming, the story goes, but President Trump won´t talk about it at his massive rallies, preferring instead to dwell on illegal immigration, the caravan, and "fear." Republicans, locked in tough re-election races, are tearing their hair out, panicked, at Trump´s refusal to emphasize the nation´s economic progress, which is their strongest campaign pitch. The journalists and other political types who are repeating the talkin

House Speaker Paul Ryan got President Donald Trump on the phone Sunday for one final plea on behalf of anxious Republicans: Please, please talk up the booming economy in the final hours before Election Day. Sen. Mr. Flake made the announcement on the Senate floor minutes after his bid to pass the bill failed. His threat could block the committee from approving any more judges this year, since the GOP only holds a one-seat majority on the panel. It’s less catastrophic to approving judges on the Senate floor,

The election results for Arizona are in, and Democratic Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema has won, winning the seat held by outgoing Republican Sen. Jeff Flake. It´s a puzzling result, not the least because the vote count took a week. In mitigation, there were far fewer warnings of fraud than we are currently seeing in Florida, and the delay was solely the result of 640,000 mail-in ballots that had yet to be counted. (snip) McSally may have lowered her own voters´ enthusiasm factor by acting standoffish from Donald Trump at first
