Remember That Our Opponents

Town Hall, by Kurt Schlichter

I liked it when the howling loonies started pounding on the bronze doors of the Supreme Court like Brett Kavanaugh was totally going to open them up and invite the freaks in to air their many stupid grievances over a hot cup of Too Damn Bad. I also liked it when Lindsey Graham dissed that silly shrieking harpy as he adjusted his tie and smirked. And I liked it when Jesse Kelly channeled Andrew Breitbart by heading down to the protest with a t-shirt that said “Hands Off My Uterus.”

Comments:
Have fun -- gloat along with Kurt.

Our opponents are the Democrats, who use insane people to agitate, attack, intimidate, burn, and kill their enemies. Democrats also use unions and the mob to stuff the ballot boxes with illegal ballots.

Trump Administration Eyes Defining
Transgender Out of Existence
New York Times, by Erica L.Green*    Original Article
Posted By: Judy W.- 10/21/2018 8:24:52     Post Reply
WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is considering narrowly defining gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth, the most drastic move yet in a governmentwide effort to roll back recognition and protections of transgender people under federal civil rights law. A series of decisions by the Obama administration loosened the legal concept of sex in federal programs, including in education and health care, recognizing sex largely as an individual’s choice — and prompting fights over bathrooms, dormitories, single-sex programs and other arenas where gender was once seen as a simple concept. Conservatives, especially evangelical Christians, were incensed.

To hear the left and its complicit press tell it, the great 4,000-strong caravan of Hondurans snaking through through Guatemala and Mexico on their way to the U.S. to claim asylum, are just desperate refugees, traveling in a group to ensure their safety. That was how the New York Times wrote it up. Well, no. Turns out they´re being paid, in money, standing in line for their paychecks. A video posted by Rep. Matt Gaetz and highlighted on DC Whispers shows the process: (Video) Compared to Honduran wages, where the per capita income is around $2,200, it´s undoubtedly nice work if you can get it.

Anna Ayers, a student government leader at Ohio University, reported finding threatening messages in the drawer of her desk a few weeks ago. Ayers, an LGBT student, said the three notes were “hateful, harassing,” according to The Post Athens, a student-run news outlet, and made specific attacks on her sexual identity.(Snip) The incident caused a stir on campus. The problem was, that stir was based on a lie. Police quickly concluded that no hate crime had taken place, and that Ayers actually had written the notes to herself. The authorities charged Ayers with a misdemeanor, to which she pleaded not guilty.

A prestigious Hungarian university on Tuesday blasted a government decree that prohibits gender studies courses as a ´major infringement´ on academic freedom. The decree, signed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban and in force since Saturday, dropped the subject from a list of masters degree programs entitled to official accreditation and financial support. Institutions are also now barred from launching new courses in the discipline, although students who have already begun courses may complete their studies, according to the decree. ´This is a major infringement on academic freedom and university autonomy,

Republicans Need to Think

Republicans love to talk about the Washington bubble, to preach that the Washington establishment has no clue what goes on in the country outside its own echo chamber. I submit that conservatives have their own bubble, their own echo chamber. They say Democrats can´t win because they want to take back our tax cuts, have open borders, get rid of ICE, and impeach the president. All true on a national level, but Democrats aren´t running far-left campaigns in conservative or moderate districts.

WASHINGTON After months of negotiations and delays, the White House is moving to fill California’s three vacancies on the influential 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — over the strenuous objections of the state’s two Democratic senators. White House officials had been negotiating with Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, both of whom sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, earlier in the year about filling these and other federal court vacancies in the state. But that dialogue collapsed this past summer, Senate aides said.

Kavanaugh May Change Election Map
New York Sun, by Conrad Black    Original Article

This is impetuous, but I think the electoral map has changed with the Kavanaugh decision. The Democrats avoided direct confrontation and tried to sandbag the nominee by a late allegation of sexual assault from 30 years before. They gambled that whipping up post-Weinstein militant-feminist support would induce the president to say something outrageous that would split his party and drench him in another momentary shower of confected outrage, such as during the partial migration ban, the Charlottesville imputations of softness toward Nazis and the Klan, the Helsinki comments, and the detention of abandoned minors of illegal immigrants at the southern borders.

Much of academia has risen up in arms over an audacious year-long hoax perpetrated by three scholars who wrote 20 phony papers in various fields of gender and identity studies that used “politically fashionable” language to support blatantly outlandish conclusions. And it worked: Seven of the papers got accepted for publication before the hoax’s exposure last week, and seven more are still in the peer-review process. Only six were rejected outright. Which means the howls condemning the hoax are outrageously misdirected. To a non-academic, the papers seem ridiculous on their face.

Kavanaugh Foes Fill Senate Gallery

I was in the Senate gallery this afternoon when Justice Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed. You would have thought I was at an exorcism in an insane asylum. Perhaps you were watching on television and heard the disruptions, though you certainly didn’t see them. The attenuated audio probably didn’t catch the frightening incoherent shrieking – including the lingering screaming and howling as they were being dragged down the hallways outside the gallery. If there was any doubt that the opposition to Kavanaugh was unhinged, uncivil, disruptive, rude, and borderline nuts, my experience in the gallery made it clear.

While the political class waits with bated breath for the conclusion of the seventh FBI investigation of Brett Kavanaugh, we’ve reached the point of the debate where thoughtful people are asking questions about the Larger Meaning of the moment. As Ross Douthat notes in an insightful piece today in the New York Times, “The Meritocracy against Itself,” the enduring, seething resentments of the tip-top of the American elite are exposed. It turns out that it’s not just hard to escape high school, it’s hard to escape your freshman dorm.

This is beyond odd, but here goes. I rise to defend Hillary Clinton. She is under attack and this time, the long knives are wielded by members of her own clan. Suddenly, after two years of indulging Clinton’s blame games and pity parties, lefty pundits say she’s talking too much, she’s stuck in the past, she had her chance and she blew it. The fact that Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers refused to release the results of her polygraph exam until the day before her testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee last month caused some suspicion. And when we finally got a look at them, a lot of Judge Kavanaugh’s supporters were confirmed in their suspicions. It turned out that Ford’s examiner, former FBI agent Jeremiah Hanafin, only asked her two relevant questions. And that’s not how most folks imagine polygraph exams are supposed to go.
