Man planned to set off 200-pound bomb
on Mall in Washington, FBI says

Federal authorities have arrested and charged a New York state man who they say planned to build a 200-pound bomb and detonate it on Election Day on the Mall in Washington. Paul M. Rosenfeld, 56, of Tappan, N.Y., was charged Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York with unlawfully manufacturing a destructive device and interstate transportation and receipt of an explosive, according to the FBI. Officials said he planned to use the bomb to kill himself and gain attention to a political belief called sortition, in which politicians are chosen at random instead of by elections.

Knowing extremely little about Harry Potterisms, but would that ´Sorting Hat´, #1, be magical and doing some sorting process to select the best students?

I think the sortition is from ancient Greece, IIRC.

Sounds like a good idea to me. We´ll pick our representatives at random out of the phone book. Couldn´t be much worse than what we have today.

I think the authorities are confusing this with the rumor that 200 crazed liberals were going to force feed themselves at Denny´s and defecate uncontrollably on the Capital steps. They had to give up the idea when no one wanted to eat at Denny´s.

Ronald DeRisi, 74, was arrested early Friday morning for threats against two of the United States Senators who supported Kavanaugh’s nomination. In a September 27th voicemail, DeRisi claimed he had a “present” for one of the senators: “It’s a 9 millimeter. Side of your f***ing skull, you s***bag m****rf***er.” He concluded the message with “Yeah, Kavanaugh – I don’t think so.” Another recorded call to the same Senator was significantly more verbose: We’re tired of this guy sucking taxpayers’ money! Getting a free f***ing ride! How many more years you gonna do it? None! He’s a dead man! 9 millimeter, side of the

Former President Jimmy Carter jumped into the political fray recently over newly confirmed Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, saying he was “unfit” to be on the Supreme Court. While speaking to a class at Emory College Wednesday Mr. Carter said Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation was a “very serious mistake,” The Emory Wheel reported. He also criticized the Senate for being “subservient” to President Trump. Justice Kavanaugh’s nomination proceedings were derailed after allegations of sexual assault were made by California professor Christine Blasey Ford. For one week at least, perhaps they should change the name to Mega Billions. Or at least Mega Billion. That´s because hours before the drawing, lottery officials raised the jackpot for Friday´s Mega Millions jackpot to that milestone plateau. That makes it the second-largest jackpot in U.S. history, trailing only the $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot on Jan. 13, 2016. Three tickets, purchased in Florida, California and Tennessee, split that jackpot. The jackpot has been steadily growing since July, when a group of officers in California won $543 million.

Just in time for the midterms, another "spontaneous" migration from Central America began with a bevy of allegedly oppressed and downtrodden Hondurans leading the way. Pressured by a threat from President Trump to cut aid to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador if the caravan is not stopped, some moves by these governments have been made. Yet evidence exists that these migrations are not spontaneous, with both of the governments in question encouraging them as a political and economic safety valve and a source of foreign currency, financed in part by foreign leftists with connections to George Soros.

Bullying, on camera and in public, is the best way to humanize a politician. It doesn’t matter how arrogant or out of touch they have been during their time in office. The moment a mob shows up at a restaurant to drive them out, most look past the politics and empathize with the person who is having their dinner ruined. Normal people react this way, because normal people don’t like bullies. The far left, however, remains unclear on the concept. Consider what just happened to Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who is running for Senate in Tennessee.

The event, hosted by the Jewish organization 92nd Street Y, included a portion on climate change that sparked the lawmaker’s pronouncement. “We owe the American people to be there for them, for their financial security, respecting the dignity and worth of every person in our country,

Hillary Clinton, never one for the conservatives, has now managed to isolate — nay, tick off — even the hardest core of her supporters. What’s come from her fans in the media in the last few hours could very well signal the end of Clinton’s long-standing, long-running reign in political courts. “For women,” CNN blasted in one headline, “Clinton is a bigger disappointment than Trump.” Ouch. That’s pretty blunt for a cable outlet known colloquially as Clinton News Network. “Hillary Clinton doesn’t get it,” wrote Holly Thomas for CNN. “Since the explosion of #MeToo in October 2017, many of us have become jaded to the stock

The caravan of at least 1,600 crossed Monday into Guatemala, chanting “yes we can” as they defied the Guatemalan governments orders to stop.

Every big U.S. election is interesting, but the coming midterms are fascinating for a reason most commentators forget to mention: The Democrats have no issues. The economy is booming and America’s international position is strong. In foreign affairs, the U.S. has remembered in the nick of time what Machiavelli advised princes five centuries ago: Don’t seek to be loved, seek to be feared. The contrast with the Obama years must be painful for any honest leftist.

This is beyond odd, but here goes. I rise to defend Hillary Clinton. She is under attack and this time, the long knives are wielded by members of her own clan. Suddenly, after two years of indulging Clinton’s blame games and pity parties, lefty pundits say she’s talking too much, she’s stuck in the past, she had her chance and she blew it. Vanity Fair, declaring that she “still hasn’t learned the lessons of #MeToo,” is furious that Clinton said her husband’s Oval Office dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was not an abuse of power

San Francisco - Cow´s milk is allegedly a symbol used by white supremacists, according to PETA. In a recent statement, the animal advocate organization explains that dairy milk has been the drink of choice for supremacists because "the dairy industry inflicts extreme violence on other living beings." According to PETA, "some people might be surprised to learn that cows used by the dairy industry are slaughtered after about five years because their bodies are so spent from being kept constantly pregnant." The fact that Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers refused to release the results of her polygraph exam until the day before her testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee last month caused some suspicion. And when we finally got a look at them, a lot of Judge Kavanaugh’s supporters were confirmed in their suspicions. It turned out that Ford’s examiner, former FBI agent Jeremiah Hanafin, only asked her two relevant questions. And that’s not how most folks imagine polygraph exams are supposed to go.
