Despite everyman image, Beto O´Rourke

Austin, Texas — With an unassuming air and a black Toyota Tundra he says was “the first new vehicle I’ve ever purchased,” Beto O’Rourke has campaigned thousands of miles across Texas and risen to national prominence on a workaday image that aligns with his politics, but not his personal finances. The son of a onetime Republican county judge and a longtime furniture store owner, the Democratic congressman from El Paso married into the family of one of his hometown’s most prominent developers and has assembled real estate investments worth millions. Comments:
A fake Mexican, a fake everyman, veteran of a "punk band" no one´s ever heard of, perhaps also something of a gigolo in the mold of Jean-François Kerry. The stupids lap it up and ask for seconds because they like the cut of his jib.

Is the author trying to lose his job? You can´t write for AP and say anything negative about a Democrat pajama boy celebrity.

Politicians never show their true selves. If they did, voters would not want to have anything to do with them.

They are frauds. But their groupies are too stupid to see it.

Democrats (and their Fake News Media friends), lie. It´s what they do. Another case in point right here. No different than last week. No different than next week.

It will be news, when a Democrat doesn´t lie.

In cases like this where it looks like a reporter is actually reporting, then look for what they´re hiding in plain site. There is always an ulterior motive.

Guess he´s making it off royalties and residuals from his band days.

Or like Senator Liawatha, serving in Congress seems to be very profitable. Howie Carr reported her income went from $400,000 a year to over $1,500,000 since she joined Congress.

But she did check the box on her Mass. state taxes this year to pay the higher Dukakis levels (5.85% instead of 5%). For the first time.

Emails show Harvard favored

Harvard University “rolled out the red carpet” for applicants with ties to influential donors, according to stunning emails revealed as part of a lawsuit that claims the school’s admissions process is discriminatory. The correspondences revealed Wednesday show that officials catered to certain recruits with upstanding pedigrees over others, including the student who received the royal treatment after his family gave $1.1 million over the course of four years. The men’s tennis coach fired off a thank-you email in 2014 to longtime admissions dean William Fitzsimmons, saying “it would mean a great deal” to see that student at Harvard.

The top U.S. general in Afghanistan barely escaped Thursday after a brazen attack during a high-level security meeting in Kandahar where Afghan guards turned their guns on American forces, claiming the lives of three top provincial officials. Afghan TV reported that members of the Kandahar province governor’s elite guards began firing on Americans and Afghan officials during the meeting, which included Gen. Scott Miller, the head of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. Two American troops were wounded in the assault, while Afghan police Chief Abdul Raziq was killed. While other senators’ votes got more attention, perhaps the most curious “No” vote on Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh came from Sen. Doug Jones of Alabama, a Democrat who represents one of the reddest states in the country but has been voting, at times, like a New England liberal. After his surprise win in a special election in late 2017 some analysts had predicted Mr. Jones would join Sen. Joe Manchin III, West Virginia Democrat, as the chamber’s middle, backing Mr. Trump on some key disputes. But those occasions have been few, and more often Mr. Jones has sided with

Latina immigrants in New York City have seen a spike in premature births – an increase that researchers with the city’s health department say may be tied to the shock win by Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. The study released Wednesday by the health department and Harvard’s TH Chan School of Public Health compared births in the city in the months before Trump won the Republican presidential nomination, from September 2015 through July 2016, with births in the months after he was inaugurated, from January to August 2017. Despite his denials, President Trump is very much the center of the 2018 election, political pros say — and the leader of the Republican Party will earn at least some of the blame should the GOP fail to hold its majorities in Congress. Mr. Trump stirred the pot this week when he told the Associated Press he’s not on the ballot and, while he’s been able to boost some candidates in Republican primaries, he won’t bear responsibility if they lose control of the House. “No, I think I’m helping people,” he said. He later complained about the headline the Associated Press slapped its piece, saying it was taken out of context.
