Major technology companies saw their shares fall sharply Wednesday, leading a broad market selloff that dragged the Dow more than 800 points lower. The S&P 500 Information Technology sector was down 4.77 percent, marking its worst day in seven years. It was also the worst performer among all 11 S&P sectors. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropped 4.08 percent, its steepest loss since June 24, 2016. Amazon lost nearly 6.2 percent of its value in the selloff. The stock has now entered correction territory – defined as a 10 percent drop from their 52-week high. The e-commerce giant is down

To be honest, I blame the volatility of the markets on Democrats, the Kneepad Media and deep state. Imagine the market explosion if the Mueller witch hunt was shut down. The media reported facts and not the DNC fax sheet, and their was staility in our goobernment without democrats insiting violence are every opportunity. Markets hate uncertainty and democrats are doing all they can to make uncertainty the central component of their political philosopy.

I think this is a correction, not a crash.

Many tech stocks are at enormous p/e ratios. And they also are stocks that are difficult to analyze by traditional methods.

Blundering into war or aneconomic panic is probably the only thing that can save the Democrats in next months election.

Otherwise I expect the shift toward the GOP will continue.

After a 13% correction Amazon still has P/E of 140. Compare that to Ford P/E of about 6. I try to avoid stocks with P/E > 20. Yeah, Amazon is a growing business, but you’re betting on everything being perfact for a long time when you buy a stock at P/E of 170.

#7 nails it. A number of these stocks are truly insane on any reasonable yardstick, purely growing on hype. When P/E ratio is over 100, the stock is a bubble and can pop at any time when the mob decides it is time to sell.

Prudent investors do not have a significant portion of their portfolio in stocks like this. No one should put more into these houses of cards than one can afford to lose.

ABC News’ livestream of President George H. W. Bush’s funeral Wednesday took an uncomfortable turn when the panelists joked about President Trump’s future funeral. “It will be the best presidential funeral ever,” ABC correspondent Terry Moran said. “No one will ever have seen anything like that funeral.” The exchange started when Moran, a veteran ABC News anchor, argued that Trump’s election was a “repudiation of much of what George Herbert Walker Bush and George Walker Bush stood for because the people who voted him wanted that repudiation.” Moran went on to say that Trump is “an expression of the

DAKAR, Senegal — The second-largest Ebola outbreak in history has spread to a major city in eastern Congo, as health experts worry whether the stock of an experimental vaccine will stand up to the demands of an epidemic with no end in sight. Butembo, with more than 1 million residents, is now reporting cases of the deadly hemorrhagic fever. That complicates Ebola containment work already challenged by rebel attacks elsewhere that have made tracking the virus almost impossible in some isolated villages. “We are very concerned by the epidemiological situation in the Butembo area,” said John Johnson, project coordinator

Paris´s Eiffel Tower will close on Saturday over fears of fresh violence during nationwide protests against President Emmanuel Macron, as police urged shops and restaurants on the Champs-Elysees to shut their doors too. Around a dozen museums across the capital have also said they will remain closed on Saturday after vandalism and clashes between protesters and police last week rocked France. The announcements came as around 200 high schools across the country remained blocked or disrupted by students protesting a raft of education overhauls, on a fourth day of action called to coincide with the anti-government demonstrations. California lawmakers on Wednesday officially approved a measure that mandates all homes built in the Golden State in 2020 and beyond be solar-powered. The new standards were approved earlier this year and voted on unanimously by the California Building Standards Commission, the Orange County Register reported. Officials heralded the move as a “historical undertaking” that “will be a beacon of light for the rest of the country.” The provisions add an estimated $10,000 to the cost of building a single-family home – including more than $8,400 for installing solar and roughly $1,500 for energy efficiency. My question for Congressjerk Eric Swalwell is pretty simple: “How many Americans would you murder to achieve your goal of disarming us?” It’s a fair question. Swalwell is the MSNBC stalwart who recently wrote an op-ed advocating that the government confiscate the guns that make people like him wet themselves and imprison those of us who decline to surrender them. Millions of Americans own these basic tools of freedom, which the ignorant call “assault weapons,” and these loyal citizens keep and bear them to protect themselves, their families, their communities and their Constitution.
