San Bernardino, Calif. — A Southern California Roman Catholic diocese on Monday released a list of 34 priests who were accused of sexually abusing children, including six who were convicted of criminal charges. The Diocese of San Bernardino County listed clergy who were the subject of “credible allegations” of molestation since the diocese formed in 1978, according to its website. All but one were removed from the priesthood, permanently banned from ministry in the diocese or are dead. The remaining priest left the diocese in 1993, and his whereabouts are unknown, according to the list. “Apologies at this point can

With refugee resettlement funds drying up, how will the church stay in business? Some years ago the Los Angeles Times did a very extensive exposé on priests who were sex abusers. Named them, printed their photos, and gave an extensive amount of ink to each one. What had happened with them, where they ended up (some dead), and so forth. It ran over three or four days.

This is when Cardinal Mahony was still holding forth and covering for these priests in Los Angeles. The LAT showed him no mercy.

Mahony’s successor as Archbishop took an unusual step further:

Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez has barred his predecessor, Cardinal Roger Mahony, from any public ministry in Los Angeles.

"Effective immediately, I have informed Cardinal Mahony that he will no longer have any administrative or public duties," Gomez said in a letter Thursday.

He cited Mahony´s alleged failures to protect young people from sexually abusive priests -- documented in court filings in recent years -- as grounds for the decision, in church terms, to bar the cardinal from any future public activities in the Los Angeles archdiocese.

you would think the anti-Catholic posters here would have learned, since the KAVANAUGH inquisition, that "sex abuse" might be something as simple as, "hi, Mildred, that´s a nice hat you have on today.."
98% of the problem was the HOMOSEXUAL program that was put in by the ANTI-Catholic forces in the late 60s to early 70s to DESTROY the Church..
let´s ferret out the abuses in the publik skoolz now..
or are THEY off limits?

Once again, they fail to mention that about 98% of these cases are HOMOSEXUAL in nature!!!!!

It´s not priests that are the problem. Most priests are good men who work hard, take their vows seriously, and serve God day after day!!!! This is 34 of these perverts out of how many thousands of priests that have served in that diocese in 40 years!!!!!!

The problem is HOMOSEXUAL predators masquerading as priests and taking advantage of easy victims!!!!!! They must be removed and it must be done today!!!!!!!!!!!

Headline error. It was the Washington Times´ mistake. It was not "dioceses;" it was one diocese, the one in San Bernardino County.

Oh, the name of Mahoney makes me sick. I despise him. I hope his skull is one of many, priests, along the road to hell. Been through a couple "Workshops" at my church. We had two minor children in our choir. Any activity whether church paid staff or volunteer had to take the course. This was after the hideous Boston investigation. I must remind myself priests, bishops and cardinals are human beings with many faults. Seems the clerical humanity thinks about their flocks. (Percentage of molestors is very small compared to the number of priests whose lives are dedicated to Jesus Christ. They have to suffer because of smirky Cardinals like Mahoney. Guess this sin will always be with us. Moms and dads, never ever let a child go spend the night with a priest. Never.

Harvard University “rolled out the red carpet” for applicants with ties to influential donors, according to stunning emails revealed as part of a lawsuit that claims the school’s admissions process is discriminatory. The correspondences revealed Wednesday show that officials catered to certain recruits with upstanding pedigrees over others, including the student who received the royal treatment after his family gave $1.1 million over the course of four years. The men’s tennis coach fired off a thank-you email in 2014 to longtime admissions dean William Fitzsimmons, saying “it would mean a great deal” to see that student at Harvard.

While other senators’ votes got more attention, perhaps the most curious “No” vote on Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh came from Sen. After his surprise win in a special election in late 2017 some analysts had predicted Mr. Jones would join Sen. Latina immigrants in New York City have seen a spike in premature births – an increase that researchers with the city’s health department say may be tied to the shock win by Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. The study released Wednesday by the health department and Harvard’s TH Chan School of Public Health compared births in the city in the months before Trump won the Republican presidential nomination, from September 2015 through July 2016, with births in the months after he was inaugurated, from January to August 2017. The once-enormously-popular two-term president and the party’s 2016 standard-bearer are the living embodiments of two of the Democrats’ biggest problems: hypocrisy about the #MeToo movement, which they believe they can exploit politically, and contempt for the working-class voters who cost the party the last presidential election. Despite his denials, President Trump is very much the center of the 2018 election, political pros say — and the leader of the Republican Party will earn at least some of the blame should the GOP fail to hold its majorities in Congress. Mr. Trump stirred the pot this week when he told the Associated Press he’s not on the ballot and, while he’s been able to boost some candidates in Republican primaries, he won’t bear responsibility if they lose control of the House. “No, I think I’m helping people,” he said.
