Roy Orbison hologram concert
in L.A. invites awe and debate

Los Angeles Times, by Wendy Lee

In the darkened Wiltern theater in Los Angeles, hundreds of people couldn’t wait to see legendary rocker Roy Orbison. A live orchestra pumped up the crowd with a medley of his hits. Old photos of him flashed across a giant screen. Then, the crooner appeared to rise magically from the stage, wearing his signature light grey suit, black shades and jamming on a red Gibson guitar to his 1960 hit “Only the Lonely.” Fans screamed as they quickly positioned their smartphones to record the spectral image. “This is as good as seeing him in person as you’ll ever get,”

This is amazing stuff....now if something could be invented to make some of these dems DISAPPEAR....that would be more spectacular.

Ballot box? That would work if there weren´t so many being stuffed by the opposition !!!

Bring back Ronald Reagan, our virtual President. Give him a trial run at the Library and then on the road. He could endorse some candidates and condemn others. Do a one man show.

Now that´s awesome!

It is an amazing technology, but they need to do one more thing i.e. sync up the imagery with the ambient stage lighting to merge the hologram into the environment.

Then they´ll really have it nailed.

Why is this technology limited to just celebrities? Couldn´t I come back in hologram form and haunt my kids?
How cool would it be if my grands could say, "Hey! Let´s pull grammachillijilli up for a few minutes before dinner..."
Could happen. 40 years ago I never would´ve thought that I´d be sitting here tapping on a keyboard connecting with thousands of people I don´t know from around the world.

Roy Orbison had an unique singing talent. Even, the King of Rock and Roll claimed Orbison had a better voice. Elvis was a great song stylist. The soaring voice of Roy Orbison will live on forever. BTW, When Roy told Elvis he was having chest pains, Elvis told him to see a doctor. Sadly, Roy didn´t take his advice. I am glad I was alive during Roy´s career.

Mueller probe takes swipes at democracy

Ours is an age of egregious excess, of tearing everything apart to set everything right and then hiding from reality when everything gets worse. So it is that we’ve got a president often acting as if he is still host of a TV reality show that is, at least, high in its ratings, and a special counsel who figures the guy has to go even if that means justice has to go, too. “This is not the way our democracy works,” said Hillary Clinton in a campaign debate after Donald Trump said he might not accept the outcome

Joe Lieberman, former ´conscience of

Joe Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent who has backed Republicans, has found friends in yet another party: the ruling Communist Party of the People´s Republic of China. The former "conscience of the Senate" has been hired to represent China´s ZTE telecommunications company, which is basically a front organization for Chinese intelligence services. ZTE is under pressure in light of overdue U.S. government efforts to prevent it from entrenching a stronger position in the U.S. economy. With the U.S. now in a new cold war with Beijing, no former U.S. official, let alone a foreign policy hawk like Lieberman, should be serving ZTE.

Since it’s never too early to start the 2020 election cycle, CNN got out ahead of the pack this week and put a poll in the field in Iowa, the first caucus state for the presidential election. They were looking to see who the hot prospects for the nomination are. The results aren’t all that much different from some national polls we’ve already looked it, but there were a few juicy bits of goodness in there.(Snip)This clearly not a case of Hillary Clinton just being “less interesting” to Iowa voters than others. WASHINGTON Got too many passwords to remember? Just wait. It’s going to get a lot worse. Average consumers five years from now may face double the demands for passwords, said Emmanuel Schalit, chief executive of Dashlane, a consumer password security company. Schalit and other experts predict that passwords will explode in further use before they eventually fade, replaced by new technology. Digital devices in homes are growing more numerous, but Schalit said the real driver behind the steady increase in the need for passwords are the sprawling number of accounts for consumers to obtain public services,

A new study finds more than 40 percent of Americans have not been vaccinated and, in fact, don´t plan on it either. This is despite the warnings, potential dangers, and last year´s record-number of flu deaths. The survey was done by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. People under the age of 45 were the least likely to report being vaccinated.

It was reported recently that a couple of nuns out in Southern California had ripped off the Catholic school where they worked for many years to the tune of at least $500,000. They spent the money on gambling sprees to Las Vegas, among other pursuits. The habit-less sisters, who were henned up together in a Torrance townhouse inside a gated community (the neighbors, according to the Los Angeles Times, wondered how they afforded their matching Volvos), hail from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet — a “social justice” religious order, naturally. One of California’s largest utilities company was accused Friday of falsifying safety documents for the state’s natural gas pipelines for years, even after it was blamed for a 2010 pipeline explosion that killed eight people. An investigation by the California Public Utilities Commission found that Pacific Gas & Electric Co. had allegedly falsified data from 2012 to 2017 because it lacked enough employees to find and mark natural gas pipelines. According to investigators, PG&E "had common knowledge among its supervisors that locators falsified data.”

Going all in on attacking President Trump isn’t proving to be a particularly effective business strategy for media outlets. The Weekly Standard, a 28-year old neoconservative institution, is reportedly headed towards dissolution after its founder, Bill Kristol, devoted almost three years of work to attacking the President and his supporters. It’s not just Kristol. The entire world of clickbait Trump-hate seems to be in jeopardy, including sites that cater to the liberal base.
