Whose Rights Matter More Before The
Supreme Court: A Man´s, Or A Frog´s?

Property Rights: Suppose for a moment you owned 1,500 acres of land that your family had owned and worked for generations. Then, out of nowhere, the federal government said you could no longer use that land as you wished. Why? Because of a frog. Would that anger you? It sure angered Edward Poitevent, a Louisianian whose lawyers stood before the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this week to argue his case. Poitevent, a tree farmer, is part of the Weyerhaeuser Co. V. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service case the high court is now considering. Obama administration officials labeled Poitevent´s spread in

Yet another reason why the leftists are fighting tooth and nail to keep a strict Constitutionalist like Judge Kavanaugh off of the Supreme Court.

Why didn´t the environmental section of DOJ which is (I presume) representing EPA (now under the Trump Admin) just drop the lawsuit? Hoping for a ruling in their favor?

Attention Working Americans: Democrats
Want To Hike Your Taxes By $1.5 Trillion

Amid all the hoopla about Democrats wanting to raise taxes on the rich, they are quietly working on a bill that would increase taxes on every working family in America. Why? To fund expanded benefits for baby boomers hitting retirement. The Social Security 2100 Act would hike the combined payroll taxes paid by workers and their employers from 12.4% today to 14.8% by 2043. The bill would also apply the payroll tax on incomes over $400,000. According to the Social Security Administration, in the first 12 years alone, this would amount to a $1.5 trillion tax hike.

Could California´s Doomed Bullet

Infrastructure: California Gov. Gavin Newsom just pulled the plug on the state´s bullet train boondoggle. President Trump should demand the $3.5 billion the federal government dumped into this black hole back, so he can put it to better use building the border wall. In his State of the State speech, Newsom said he was shelving plans for a high-speed rail line from San Francisco to Los Angeles. A plan plagued with endless delays and massive cost overruns.

Middle-Class Economics: USA Today ran a surprising story on Tuesday headlined "Can the middle-class revival under Trump last?" It´s surprising — shocking really — because it might just be the first time a major news outlet has admitted that there has been a middle-class revival under Trump. We did a search for news stories that used the phrase "middle-class revival" since Trump took office. Other than the USAT story and a syndicated column written a year-and-a-half ago, we found none.

In a recent federal filing before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, lawyers for Apple (AAPL) maintained that the tech giant should not have to consider increasing its leadership´s ideological diversity and that arguments made in support of greater viewpoint variance were "without merit." The SEC disagreed, sending Apple´s legal team a stunning rebuke. Because of that decision, at next month´s annual meeting of Apple investors, its shareholders will have the chance to vote on whether the Silicon Valley-based company should seek to increase ideological diversity or continue operating in a progressive prepotency.

Not because of Republican intransigence. They´ve already agreed

Good Times: When Trump rattled off a series of economic successes in his State of the Union, he could have added one more. The public´s quality of life has improved sharply in the past two years. "We have created 5.3 million new jobs and, importantly, added 600,000 new manufacturing jobs," Trump said at one point in this address. "Wages are rising at the fastest pace in decades ... . Unemployment has reached the lowest rate in half a century. African-American, Hispanic-American and Asian-American unemployment have all reached their lowest levels ever recorded.

Election 2020: Starbucks tycoon Howard Schultz had barely gotten the words out of his mouth about a possible independent bid for president before an angry Democratic mob descended on him. He should ignore them. It´s a "pathetic vanity project," one said. Others threatened to boycott Starbucks. Neera Tanden, head of the left-wing Center for American Progress, called the prospect of Schultz´s running "disgusting" and said it will "help destroy democracy." Former Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said if Schultz runs it would put him at the top of the "all-time list of villains."

Big Lie: Presidential wannabe Elizabeth Warren´s obfuscation about her Native American heritage may have finally done her in. The latest shoe to drop is her 1986 registration card for the Texas bar, in which she claimed her race is "American Indian." This week, seven years after the public first learned that she´d been claiming to be a Native American, the Massachusetts senator sort of apologized for doing so. But only after the Washington Post unearthed her Texas bar registration card, filled out by hand nearly 33 years ago.

Foreign Affairs: At the tail end of his State of the Union address Tuesday night, as President Donald Trump touted his foreign policy achievements, Democrats sat stone faced. Not a surprise. But outside the House chamber, even some of Trump´s harshest critics have grudgingly acknowledged that he´s had several big wins. Shortly before the November 2016 elections, a group of 50 top Republican foreign policy experts signed an unprecedented letter forcefully denouncing the Republican candidate for president. On the eve of his second State of the Union address, President Donald Trump faces a country in a foul mood after the lengthy government shutdown and the bitter battle over constructing a border wall. The public´s view of the economy has soured as well, according to the IBD/TIPP Poll. However, Trump has convinced most Americans that there´s a growing crisis on the southern border. The latest IBD/TIPP Poll shows declines across the board: on presidential approval, direction of the country, financial stress, and whether the economy is improving or not.

Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) is running to become the first black female president. But in the early days of the campaign, she’s had to answer questions about the “legitimacy” of her “blackness.” Online, stories have circulated suggesting that Harris is not African American because her parents are immigrants and she spent some of her childhood in Canada. During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” radio show Monday, hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God asked Harris about that. Harris pushed back. “I’m black, and I’m proud of being black. I was born black. I will die black,”

The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen. Mitch] McConnell, who then announced his agreement to go along with an emergency declaration.” One reason for Trump’s last-minute opposition is that congressional leaders conducted the negotiations without significant White House involvement.

WASHINGTON— What is happening to the Democrats? Captivated by a handful of liberal superstars, they are venturing where the party has long feared to tread: Steep taxes on the rich. Abolishing an immigration enforcement agency. Proposing "economic transformation" to combat climate change. Gleefully waving goodbye to a big business — and its jobs. On Thursday, newly-elected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led a chorus of cheers as Amazon announced it was abandoning plans to build a sought-after headquarters in New York City. The two hottest commodities in the Democratic Party are Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Earlier this week, Omar exhibited stunning ignorance in her hostile questioning of Elliott Adams Abrams. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez has often displayed a surprising lack of knowledge for someone who apparently is a college graduate. Don’t get me started on the “Green New Socialism.” But she outdid herself yesterday. The context was Amazon’s announcement that it would not, after all, build a second corporate headquarters in Long Island City, which I understand is close to, but not within, Ocasio-Cortez’s district. Millions of Americans may be sorely disappointed. Unless Mueller files a detailed indictment charging members of the Trump campaign with conspiring with Russia, the public may never learn the full scope of what Mueller and his team has found — including potentially scandalous behavior that doesn´t amount to a provable crime.
