Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh´s
accuser, willing to testify next week

CBS News, by Staff

A lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has alleged Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when the two of them were in high school, said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Blasey is willing to testify before lawmakers as soon as next week, but ruled out Monday, the date the committee had scheduled for a hearing. In an email to committee staffers obtained by CBS News, Ford´s lawyer Debra Katz wrote that Ford "wishes to testify, provided that we can agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety.

No. Neither she nor her lawyer have the right to dictate anything.

Stop this now. Confirm.

What is this about needing assurance to "her safety"? Are they expecting violence? Perpetrated by whom?

Iwas a teenager in the late 1950s. Even that far back, we girls were groped by overeager boys from time to time. It was what teenaged boys do. We tried to stay beyond reach. Someone groped Christine Blasey perhaps, but it wasn´t a crime then and is not a crime 36 years later. I support Judge Kavanaugh who should not be dragged through this charade. Ford´s gotten death threats? I am confident Judge Kavanaugh has gotten ten times as many.

If the incident did occur it would have been a misdemeanor if charged. I can´t believe we are doing all this because of a misdemeanor that may or may not have happened in high school. It´s more political correctness gone amuck.

Prosecution witnesses including traumatized children are regularly required to be in court at the appointed date and time or risk having the court dismiss the prosecution case. No witness has ever been able to negotiate with a court the terms of his/her testimony. The constitution requires that the defendant may confront and cross-examine the witnesses against him. Reliving the incident is a sad but necessary reality.

She doesn´t want to testify, she wants to claim Republicans silenced her by trying to force her to testify when she was unable. The privileged white men on the committee will do anything to protect one of their own. They even traumatized an innocent victim who only wanted to share her story.

The manure is going to get knee deep.

She has not alleged facts to support a misdemeanor, contrary to previous posters. She has not alleged someone grabbing her breasts or the front of her crotch or her butt through her clothing. She did not allege anyone trying to kiss her. She has not alleged that the activity was done for the purpose of sexual gratification. She is asking us to infer from her subjective interpretation of the event as attempted rape. This would not survive the preliminary hearing in Pennsylvania. I have represented men wrongfully accused of this sort of thing. I would be happy to cross examine her, free of charge. The cross examination needs to be vigorous and aggressive. She would be laughed out of court for waiting 36 years. Based upon what I have read online, my cross would land her in the psych ward. And rightly so. I would sleep like a baby afterwards.

The democrats are banking on GOP to be worried and wanting to be "fair" which if they make any concessions is that she can do it in private session.

So, show up on Monday, or move along.

Besides, it´s looking more and more like she may not really know, and may want to ensure she doesn´t commit perjury so trying to get her story straight.

She has to say that she will testify sometime in the near future to keep the wimpy Republicans from voting Kavanaugh’s conformation out of the Committee. She will probably agree to testify late next week, and then will postpone until the next week, if she does finally testify, she will demand a complete FBI Investigation, because by that time the liberal and socialist Democrats will come up with other issues that they will claim needs investigation. Maybe another woman will come forward with another allegation. Obviously the wimpy Republicans are scared to death and the Democrats know they can string those Republicans along especially since the RINOs could go any way when the vote comes.

I think this has been carefully coreographed by the Democrats since President Trump first announced that Kavanaugh was the nominee. Ms. Ford had her story, as a California professor how did she know to hire Katz (a George Soros attorney)? Every step, has been carefully pre-planned to keep ANY conservative from being confirmed. And ruining Brett Kavanaugh? You can´t seriously think this troubles Leftists at all. A progressive would ruin his or her own mother to advance the cause. I doubt if Feinstein herself believes Ford´s amorphous hole ridden story.

In Maryland if the authorities even accepted the incident as an assault right after the incident occurred, it would have been classified as a delinquent act and would not be a criminal offense under Maryland law because everybody at the scene was under age 18 at the time.

Chances are at the time they never would have made it anything at all, because it would have been a he said, she said, case with everybody there having been drinking alcohol and most likely intoxicated. Since the people at the party were under 18, chances are if they were charged at all, the jeopardy they would have most likely faced would have been in relation to a minor in possession of alcohol related delinquent act.

Furthermore once those delinquents reached age 18 the relating juvenile records would have been sealed under State law and would not be made known to or made available to the FBI background investigators. Today the liberal Democrats have been pushing for adult criminal records of convicted violent criminals coming out of prison to be sealed so that employers will not know that prospective employees have violent adult criminal records.

But here the Democrats are trying to assassinate the character and reputation of this judge because of an unproven allegation relating to an decades old and unproven incident, even if proved true, would have been a juvenile delinquent act and not an adult crime where it is said to have occurred.

Does she even know she´s just a tool, easily discarded once she´s served her purpose? I wonder if her handlers promised her anonymity to "come forward," then found they couldn´t, and whether she´s enjoying her 15 minutes of fame.

Don’t be surprised if her leftist lawyer writes a letter to Senator Grassley at the last moment saying that the accuser has left the USA on a “preplanned” vacation, will not be back until after the midterm election, demanding that the hearing be continued until she gets back in the country and is comfortably prepared to testify.

Seventy-six people are dead. At least 1,276 are missing. And more than 7 million have been confined to their homes, as a cloud of toxic, corrosive ash darkens their windows and creeps under their doors. The Camp Fire—which is still burning across some 232 square miles of Northern California—now ranks among the worst natural disasters to hit the United States this century. Only a handful of hurricanes and a “super outbreak” of tornadoes in 2011 have killed more Americans. This fire has robbed more Californians of their lives than has any earthquake since 1933.

When Mostafa Zamanian voted last week in Shorewood Hills, Wis., he got lucky: He was in the short line. “Of 19 in hallway, only two of us were N-Z and didn’t have to wait to vote,” he tweeted. Like other places, Mr. Zamanian’s precinct split up voters based on their last names. Those beginning with A to M were steered one way, while those beginning with N to Z were directed elsewhere. First, despite the national media´s typical laziness and derelictions, the local press has largely been assiduous and conscientious -- certain framing aside. Second, core concerns raised by leading Republicans (some of which were rhetorically overblown) have been validated by multiple judges. The ineptitude and misconduct has not gone unnoticed. The World Chess Championship arrived in London on Friday with a blitzkrieg of breathless hype that hasn’t been seen in chess for nearly three decades. The matchup between reigning champion Magnus Carlsen and challenger Fabiano Caruana is the first title series since Garry Kasparov’s reign to pit the world’s two top players against each other. Carlsen may already be the greatest player ever but has lacked a worthy rival. Caruana is an aggressive player who could become the first American champion since Bobby Fischer. The players’ combined ratings are the highest for a World Chess Championship ever. The chess cognoscenti sense

It has been speculated that Mitt Romney’s Utah Senate seat could serve as a prelude to another Presidential run. In the most ambitious version of events, he could even challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 primaries, newly legitimized and augmented by his actions in the Capitol Building. This would allow moderate Republicans to reclaim their party’s mantle and unroot alt-right influences. But would Romney do it? His willingness to unequivocally challenge Trump could be seen either as a pro or con by Republicans, depending on their opinions of the sitting president.

The funeral wasn’t enough. Cindy McCain went on with CBS News on Friday to give her first interview since Senator McCain’s death. Cindy said the funeral was not meant to be a rebuke of President Trump. Seriously? Mrs. McCain then went on to praise her daughter Meghan for trashing the president at the funeral, smiling as she talked about Meghan’s memorable line, “America was always great.” (Video) Cindy McCain then went on to lecture President Trump, “Our country needs a strong leader, not a negative Nancy… Hopefully he will learn something…” (Video)

A black woman says she felt “racially profiled” when she was booted from a Virginia Dunkin’ Donuts after she tried to use the shop’s free Wi-Fi without buying anything, reports said. Tirza Wilbon White was about to use her laptop in the Fairfax store when a woman who identified herself as the owner told her and another man — also a person of color — that they’d have to make a purchase if they wanted to stay. “This is what it means to be black in America,” White said in a Facebook post last week. “I am a regular in this

A top elections official in Florida who endured national humiliation after missing a midterms recount deadline by two minutes has told the Guardian that racism is “probably” a factor in the backlash against her. Brenda Snipes, elections supervisor of Broward county, was condemned by Republicans and Democrats after failing to submit tallies in the US Senate race between Rick Scott and Bill Nelson on schedule. (Snip) In a short interview, Snipes, 75, said: “You know, the protesters have been claiming stuff all week so whatever they’re doing, that’s what they’re doing. That’s what they feel like they need to do.”

California Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell is calling for government confiscation of all semi-automatic rifles. In other words, every rifle in America.(tweets)Further, he´s warning citizens of nuclear annihilation should people refuse to comply.(tweets)When he was confronted, Swalwell tried to backtrack with some context and further explanation.(tweets)He then pulled the victim card.(tweet)"Gun buyback" is a nice term for confiscation, which Swalwell acknowledged. "Assault rifle" is a politically loaded, misleading term used by the left to demonize semi-automatic rifles. And yes, confiscating millions of privately owned firearms is indeed tyrannical. To look back at the moment John Kerry entered US public life, addressing the Senate foreign relations committee on 22 April 1971, is to be struck by many things. There are the famous words, of course: “How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?” There is the shock of dark, Beatles-inspired hair, the distinctly British-tinged accent. Above all, there is the self-possession. Even though, as he describes it in his new book, Every Day Is Extra,

Championing the cause of the poor, Pope Francis on Sunday lamented that "the wealthy few" enjoy what, "in justice, belongs to all" and said Christians cannot remain indifferent to the growing cries of the exploited and the indigent, including migrants. Francis invited about 6,000 poor people as well as some of the volunteers who help them to the splendor of St. Peter´s Basilica where he celebrated Mass on a day the Catholic Church dedicates to the needy. Later, he sat down with 1,500 of the indigent for a lunch of lasagna, chicken, mashed potatoes and tiramisu in a Vatican auditorium.

Broward County’s ballot recount hit yet another snag Saturday with 2,040 ballots lost or misplaced. The county’s eternally beleaguered Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes said they were either misplaced, misfiled or mixed in with another stack. One thing she said she was sure of was that the ballots were still in the building. “The ballots are in this building. There would be nowhere else for them to be,” Snipes said. “The ballots are in the building. The ballots are in the building.” Snipes has been in the crosshairs of national controversy since Election Day. With a noon Sunday deadline looming,

Michelle Obama raged against the risk of her "integration and/or assimilation into a White cultural and social structure" in her Princeton University thesis. I reviewed this document, remarkable for its rancor as well as for its orthographical dysfunction, during her husband´s first presidential campaign ten years ago. Now that Mrs. Obama has emerged as a prospective candidate for the 2020 presidential election, her radical rant is worth another look.Below is my 2008 Asia Times essay. Stacey Abrams refused to acknowledge Georgia’s Republican Governor-elect Brian Kemp as “legitimate” during a Sunday morning appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper. WATCH: (Video)Throughout the course of the interview, Tapper pressed Abrams several times on the issue — and she repeatedly refused to use the word “legitimate.” “Sherrod Brown says the election was stolen. Do you agree that it was stolen and do you think that Brian Kemp is not the legitimate governor-elect of Georgia?” Tapper asked.

Before killing himself with a drug intended for rapid and painless animal euthanasia, Richard A. Morrisett had endured a nightmare at the University of Texas in Austin. The 57-year-old tenured professor of pharmacology and toxicology was once a rising star in the College of Pharmacy – a man regarded as a first-rate research scientist and teacher during his 21 years at the state´s flagship university. Morrisett´s research offered new insights into alcohol-related brain disorders and alcoholism – an arcane area of research among neuroscientists. Some colleagues called him “brilliant.” Morrisett´s career, however, was destroyed by a single newspaper article. Published
