Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh´s
accuser, willing to testify next week

CBS News, by Staff

A lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has alleged Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when the two of them were in high school, said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Blasey is willing to testify before lawmakers as soon as next week, but ruled out Monday, the date the committee had scheduled for a hearing. In an email to committee staffers obtained by CBS News, Ford´s lawyer Debra Katz wrote that Ford "wishes to testify, provided that we can agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety.

What is this about needing assurance to "her safety"? Are they expecting violence? Perpetrated by whom?

Iwas a teenager in the late 1950s. Even that far back, we girls were groped by overeager boys from time to time. It was what teenaged boys do. We tried to stay beyond reach. Someone groped Christine Blasey perhaps, but it wasn´t a crime then and is not a crime 36 years later. I support Judge Kavanaugh who should not be dragged through this charade. Ford´s gotten death threats? I am confident Judge Kavanaugh has gotten ten times as many.

If the incident did occur it would have been a misdemeanor if charged. I can´t believe we are doing all this because of a misdemeanor that may or may not have happened in high school. It´s more political correctness gone amuck.

This leftist dirty trick is growing beyond all proportion and needs to be halted. Vote on Tuesday. Judge Kavanaugh and his family deserve it. America deserves it.

Prosecution witnesses including traumatized children are regularly required to be in court at the appointed date and time or risk having the court dismiss the prosecution case. No witness has ever been able to negotiate with a court the terms of his/her testimony. The constitution requires that the defendant may confront and cross-examine the witnesses against him. Reliving the incident is a sad but necessary reality.

She doesn´t want to testify, she wants to claim Republicans silenced her by trying to force her to testify when she was unable. The privileged white men on the committee will do anything to protect one of their own. They even traumatized an innocent victim who only wanted to share her story.

She has not alleged facts to support a misdemeanor, contrary to previous posters. She has not alleged someone grabbing her breasts or the front of her crotch or her butt through her clothing. She did not allege anyone trying to kiss her. She has not alleged that the activity was done for the purpose of sexual gratification. She is asking us to infer from her subjective interpretation of the event as attempted rape. This would not survive the preliminary hearing in Pennsylvania. I have represented men wrongfully accused of this sort of thing. I would be happy to cross examine her, free of charge. The cross examination needs to be vigorous and aggressive. She would be laughed out of court for waiting 36 years. Based upon what I have read online, my cross would land her in the psych ward. And rightly so. I would sleep like a baby afterwards.

The democrats are banking on GOP to be worried and wanting to be "fair" which if they make any concessions is that she can do it in private session.

So, show up on Monday, or move along.

Besides, it´s looking more and more like she may not really know, and may want to ensure she doesn´t commit perjury so trying to get her story straight.

She has to say that she will testify sometime in the near future to keep the wimpy Republicans from voting Kavanaugh’s conformation out of the Committee. She will probably agree to testify late next week, and then will postpone until the next week, if she does finally testify, she will demand a complete FBI Investigation, because by that time the liberal and socialist Democrats will come up with other issues that they will claim needs investigation. Maybe another woman will come forward with another allegation. Obviously the wimpy Republicans are scared to death and the Democrats know they can string those Republicans along especially since the RINOs could go any way when the vote comes.

I think this has been carefully coreographed by the Democrats since President Trump first announced that Kavanaugh was the nominee. Ms. Ford had her story, as a California professor how did she know to hire Katz (a George Soros attorney)? Every step, has been carefully pre-planned to keep ANY conservative from being confirmed. And ruining Brett Kavanaugh? You can´t seriously think this troubles Leftists at all. A progressive would ruin his or her own mother to advance the cause. I doubt if Feinstein herself believes Ford´s amorphous hole ridden story.

In Maryland if the authorities even accepted the incident as an assault right after the incident occurred, it would have been classified as a delinquent act and would not be a criminal offense under Maryland law because everybody at the scene was under age 18 at the time.

Chances are at the time they never would have made it anything at all, because it would have been a he said, she said, case with everybody there having been drinking alcohol and most likely intoxicated. Since the people at the party were under 18, chances are if they were charged at all, the jeopardy they would have most likely faced would have been in relation to a minor in possession of alcohol related delinquent act.

Furthermore once those delinquents reached age 18 the relating juvenile records would have been sealed under State law and would not be made known to or made available to the FBI background investigators. Today the liberal Democrats have been pushing for adult criminal records of convicted violent criminals coming out of prison to be sealed so that employers will not know that prospective employees have violent adult criminal records.

But here the Democrats are trying to assassinate the character and reputation of this judge because of an unproven allegation relating to an decades old and unproven incident, even if proved true, would have been a juvenile delinquent act and not an adult crime where it is said to have occurred.

Does she even know she´s just a tool, easily discarded once she´s served her purpose? I wonder if her handlers promised her anonymity to "come forward," then found they couldn´t, and whether she´s enjoying her 15 minutes of fame.

Don’t be surprised if her leftist lawyer writes a letter to Senator Grassley at the last moment saying that the accuser has left the USA on a “preplanned” vacation, will not be back until after the midterm election, demanding that the hearing be continued until she gets back in the country and is comfortably prepared to testify.

Beto O’Rourke cracked open the door to a 2020 presidential run in the most Beto way possible: walking down the street and chatting with a celebrity tracker for TMZ.com. Democrats from Iowa didn’t waste time inviting him to speak. Even Golden State Warriors basketball coach Steve Kerr posted on Twitter: “Beto 2020.”

Pope Francis administered a stunning and humiliating shock to the bishops of the Catholic Church in the United States last week. The American bishops had gathered in Baltimore to discuss a pair of measures to deal with the continuing crisis over clerical sexual abuses in this country. The measures were fairly modest. One sought to build on the 2002 “Dallas charter” — measures designed to stop priests’ abuse of children, mostly young boys — by extending its rules on reporting and accountability to bishops. The other would have launched an investigation, led by lay Catholics,

Smoke began to fill the bus, so McKay took off a shirt. He and two teachers on the bus tore it into pieces and doused them with water. The children held the damp pieces of cloth to their mouths and breathed through them. He had been on the job, driving the bus for Ponderosa Elementary School in the northern California city of Paradise, only for a few months.

Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn was arrested on suspicion of under-reporting $44.6 million in pay, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office said Monday. Also arrested was Greg Kelly, a representative director at Nissan, on suspicion of conspiracy with Ghosn. In 1999, French automaker Renault and the Japanese automaker formed a strategic alliance. Ghosn, 64, was then sent by Renault to take over as chief operating officer of Nissan. Nissan CEO Hirota Saikawa, taking the unusual step of appearing by himself in a news conference, criticized the concentration of too much power by a single individual.

The Camp Fire—which is still burning across some 232 square miles of Northern California—now ranks among the worst natural disasters to hit the United States this century. Only a handful of hurricanes and a “super outbreak” of tornadoes in 2011 have killed more Americans. This fire has robbed more Californians of their lives than has any earthquake since 1933.

When Mostafa Zamanian voted last week in Shorewood Hills, Wis., he got lucky: He was in the short line. “Of 19 in hallway, only two of us were N-Z and didn’t have to wait to vote,” he tweeted. Like other places, Mr. Zamanian’s precinct split up voters based on their last names. Those beginning with A to M were steered one way, while those beginning with N to Z were directed elsewhere. Intuitively, that makes sense: It’s the midpoint of the alphabet—so you end up with two equal queues, right? Wrong.

The allure of San Antonio’s Castro brothers has been building for years and their status as the crown princes of a new era of Texas Hispanic politics is now well established. As one longtime Democratic consultant said, they have successfully established themselves as the next generation of leadership in Texas, with an Ivy League pedigree and reputation for strategic thinking. But something happened this election cycle: Beto O’Rourke. As the Democratic consultant said, “Julián and his brother are like Bing Crosby and Perry Como—who just saw Elvis.”

California Gov. Jerry Brown appears to have quietly admitted President Donald Trump´s suggestion about improving California forestry was correct and is now urging state lawmakers to loosen restrictive logging regulations put in place to appease environmentalists. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that Brown is proposing one of the most significant changes to the state´s logging rules in nearly half a century. "Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing broad new changes to California’s logging rules that would allow landowners to cut larger trees and build temporary roads without obtaining a permit as a way to thin more forests across the state," the

Barack Obama trashed President Trump on Monday night while speaking about ways to mobilize Americans to bring about social change at an Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago. Arrogant Obama accused President Trump of ignoring the climate change hoax because he’s a racist with mommy issues. “The reason we don’t” invest in climate change policies, Obama said, “is because we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism…mommy issues.” The audience of drones laughed after Obama trashed Trump. Obama stuttered as he continued to talk about himself and even bragged about being called “Spock.” “I mean, we — we are

Democrat Stacey Abrams isn´t backing down from her fight against what she calls voter suppression tactics and election mismanagement after losing the Georgia governor´s race. In fact, Abrams said she experienced the problems in her state firsthand — after nearly being denied a ballot during early voting. In an interview with Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee said that when she went to vote last month, a poll worker initially told her that she had requested an absentee ballot and couldn´t cast an in-person vote. Abrams replied that she never filed for an absentee ballot, and after

Peggy Noonan’s intense dislike for President Donald Trump undermines her credibility as a fair and balanced columnist: She cannot be true to her trade when she hates the objects of her pen. With the Trumps, she has lost all sense of balance. Her unwarranted attack on First Lady Melania Trump last weekend in the Wall Street Journal is plain ugly. In a column titled “Melania’s Misstep and Michelle’s Mystery,” Noonan declares her love for former first lady Michelle Obama after reading her memoir, Becoming. Noonan should know by now that every auto-biographer blows his/her own trumpet.

Progressive organizer Annabel Park told the story that made me start to wonder. “I can’t stop thinking about this woman I met while doorknocking for Beto in Dallas,” Annabel wrote on social media a few days before the midterm elections. “She lived in a sprawling low-income apartment complex. After I knocked a couple of times, she answered the door with her husband just behind her. She looked petrified and her husband looked menacing behind her. When I made my pitch about Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke, her husband yelled, ‘We’re not interested.’

TIJUANA, Mexico — Migrants stranded in Tijuana are complaining about cramped living spaces, exposure to the cold at night, limited access to food and safety concerns. The makeshift shelter they´ve been living in for almost a week is nearing capacity, and more migrants are on the way to this border community. More than 2,500 migrants, hailing mostly from Honduras and to a lesser extent from other Central American countries and Mexico, are staying at Unidad Deportiva Benito Juárez, a sports complex in Tijuana´s north end. Another 3,400 are in nearby Mexicali, about 90 miles away, according to the state officials.

Contrary to suggestions of a slow-down, the number of Americans severing their ties to cable and satellite TV soared to the largest number ever during the third quarter this year. For the first time satellite and cable TV providers lost more than a million subscribers from July through September this year. To be exact, they lost 1.1 million customers. Which is a lot of of monthly fees gone poof! Dish TV lost 367,000 satellite subscriber in the third quarter compared to gaining 16,000 in the previous third quarter. Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams (D) defeated incumbent GOP Rep. Mia Love by fewer than 700 votes in a hotly contested race for Utah’s 4th Congressional District, turning the district blue for the first time in six years. The race had been initially too close to call, with both McAdams and Love at different points taking a slight edge over each other. In the end, the Associated Press called the race for the Democrat on Nov. 20. Polls had showed McAdams with a slight edge over Love, with Sabato´s Crystal Ball shifting her race from a “toss-up” to “leans

Detroit — A federal judge Tuesday dismissed female genital mutilation charges against several doctors in the first criminal case of its kind nationwide, ruling the law is unconstitutional. The opinion by U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman comes two weeks after defense lawyers mounted the first challenge to a 22-year-old genital mutilation law that went unused until April 2017. That´s when Dr. Jumana Nagarwala of Northville was arrested and accused of heading a conspiracy that lasted 12 years, involved seven other people and led to mutilating the genitalia of nine girls as part of a religious procedure practiced by some

U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ruled on Thursday that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has 30 days to answer additional questions about her email scandal. The decision comes after Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit to obtain additional information from Clinton and Director of Information Resource Management of the Executive Secretariat John Bentel. The watchdog group also wanted top Clinton aides and State Department officials, including Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills´, deposition videos made public. The lawsuit was part of a broader Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that came about in October 2016 when Clinton refused to

Back in 2008, when he was addressing vast throngs in Berlin and Mile High Stadium, Barack Obama was, we were assured by most of the Smart Set, one of the greatest orators in history. (snip) I am sorry but this sounds like a stoner. "We could have electricity and smartphones and all that stuff which would buy us probably another 20, 30 years for that technological breakthrough that´s necessary," Obama continued. "The reason we don´t do it is because we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism, mommy issues." I am pretty sure that we already have electricity and smartphones
