Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh´s
accuser, willing to testify next week

CBS News, by Staff

A lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has alleged Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when the two of them were in high school, said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Blasey is willing to testify before lawmakers as soon as next week, but ruled out Monday, the date the committee had scheduled for a hearing. In an email to committee staffers obtained by CBS News, Ford´s lawyer Debra Katz wrote that Ford "wishes to testify, provided that we can agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety.

No. Neither she nor her lawyer have the right to dictate anything.

Stop this now. Confirm.

What is this about needing assurance to "her safety"? Are they expecting violence? Perpetrated by whom?

Iwas a teenager in the late 1950s. Even that far back, we girls were groped by overeager boys from time to time. It was what teenaged boys do. We tried to stay beyond reach. Someone groped Christine Blasey perhaps, but it wasn´t a crime then and is not a crime 36 years later. I support Judge Kavanaugh who should not be dragged through this charade. Ford´s gotten death threats? I am confident Judge Kavanaugh has gotten ten times as many.

If the incident did occur it would have been a misdemeanor if charged. I can´t believe we are doing all this because of a misdemeanor that may or may not have happened in high school. It´s more political correctness gone amuck.

Prosecution witnesses including traumatized children are regularly required to be in court at the appointed date and time or risk having the court dismiss the prosecution case. No witness has ever been able to negotiate with a court the terms of his/her testimony. The constitution requires that the defendant may confront and cross-examine the witnesses against him. Reliving the incident is a sad but necessary reality.

She doesn´t want to testify, she wants to claim Republicans silenced her by trying to force her to testify when she was unable. The privileged white men on the committee will do anything to protect one of their own. They even traumatized an innocent victim who only wanted to share her story.

The manure is going to get knee deep.

She has not alleged facts to support a misdemeanor, contrary to previous posters. She has not alleged someone grabbing her breasts or the front of her crotch or her butt through her clothing. She did not allege anyone trying to kiss her. She has not alleged that the activity was done for the purpose of sexual gratification. She is asking us to infer from her subjective interpretation of the event as attempted rape. This would not survive the preliminary hearing in Pennsylvania. I have represented men wrongfully accused of this sort of thing. I would be happy to cross examine her, free of charge. The cross examination needs to be vigorous and aggressive. She would be laughed out of court for waiting 36 years. Based upon what I have read online, my cross would land her in the psych ward. And rightly so. I would sleep like a baby afterwards.

The democrats are banking on GOP to be worried and wanting to be "fair" which if they make any concessions is that she can do it in private session.

So, show up on Monday, or move along.

Besides, it´s looking more and more like she may not really know, and may want to ensure she doesn´t commit perjury so trying to get her story straight.

She has to say that she will testify sometime in the near future to keep the wimpy Republicans from voting Kavanaugh’s conformation out of the Committee. She will probably agree to testify late next week, and then will postpone until the next week, if she does finally testify, she will demand a complete FBI Investigation, because by that time the liberal and socialist Democrats will come up with other issues that they will claim needs investigation. Maybe another woman will come forward with another allegation. Obviously the wimpy Republicans are scared to death and the Democrats know they can string those Republicans along especially since the RINOs could go any way when the vote comes.

I think this has been carefully coreographed by the Democrats since President Trump first announced that Kavanaugh was the nominee. Ms. Ford had her story, as a California professor how did she know to hire Katz (a George Soros attorney)? Every step, has been carefully pre-planned to keep ANY conservative from being confirmed. And ruining Brett Kavanaugh? You can´t seriously think this troubles Leftists at all. A progressive would ruin his or her own mother to advance the cause. I doubt if Feinstein herself believes Ford´s amorphous hole ridden story.

In Maryland if the authorities even accepted the incident as an assault right after the incident occurred, it would have been classified as a delinquent act and would not be a criminal offense under Maryland law because everybody at the scene was under age 18 at the time.

Chances are at the time they never would have made it anything at all, because it would have been a he said, she said, case with everybody there having been drinking alcohol and most likely intoxicated. Since the people at the party were under 18, chances are if they were charged at all, the jeopardy they would have most likely faced would have been in relation to a minor in possession of alcohol related delinquent act.

Furthermore once those delinquents reached age 18 the relating juvenile records would have been sealed under State law and would not be made known to or made available to the FBI background investigators. Today the liberal Democrats have been pushing for adult criminal records of convicted violent criminals coming out of prison to be sealed so that employers will not know that prospective employees have violent adult criminal records.

But here the Democrats are trying to assassinate the character and reputation of this judge because of an unproven allegation relating to an decades old and unproven incident, even if proved true, would have been a juvenile delinquent act and not an adult crime where it is said to have occurred.

Don’t be surprised if her leftist lawyer writes a letter to Senator Grassley at the last moment saying that the accuser has left the USA on a “preplanned” vacation, will not be back until after the midterm election, demanding that the hearing be continued until she gets back in the country and is comfortably prepared to testify.

When kids choose a profession, they tend to follow in their parents’ footsteps: Doctors’ children often become doctors, lawyers produce lawyers, and plumbers beget plumbers. So, after 15 years of covering crime and criminal justice for The New York Times, I was fascinated by studies—conducted in cities across the United States and in London, England, with near-identical results—showing that crime, too, can run in families. In the most famous study, researchers followed 411 boys from South London from 1961 to 2001 and found that half of the convicted kids were accounted

The question of how over 900 people came to kill themselves in the South American jungle animated the writing of Cult City: Jim Jones, Harvey Milk, and 10 Days That Shook San Francisco. But in trying to solve that puzzle another puzzle, well, puzzled. How did the victims go from “religious zealots” in the first draft of history to left-wing idealists in subsequent revisions? The drive to report the story first instead of right led to errors. Walter Cronkite labeled Peoples Temple as “fascist,” a New York Times article described Jim Jones’s preaching as “fundamentalist Christianity,” and the Associated Press

FORT WORTH Beto Burnout might be setting in. But not on stage. A wide-awake Democratic U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke rallied a three-fourths-full Ridglea Theater crowd early Saturday morning, emphasizing four words: “We vote on Monday.” On the eve of early voting in his 21-month, $61 million campaign for U.S. Senate, O’Rourke barely even alluded to incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz but campaigned hard against his familar targets: Texas voters’ cynicism and disillusionment. As national publications began speculating on a Beto 2020 presidential campaign — one headline reads “Beto O’Rourke Isn’t Running for Senate Anymore” —

Elizabeth Warren wants to be Native American. Robert Francis O’Rourke wants to be Latino. But they aren’t. And they’re being hoist on the left’s own petard. I’m a fan of cultural appropriation. I think it’s actually healthy for the dominant society to incorporate some aspects of other cultures. This makes us more diverse, more interesting, and more tolerant. But many on the left strongly disagree with me on this. They hate themselves for loving yoga, and don’t think two white women should be able to own a burrito cart in Portland. It is here that we must face the difficult truth: Barring a GOP-related disaster of some sort, O’Rourke — he of that ineffable “cool factor” and “special sauce,” at least according to easily impressed columnists at the Washington Post — is likely to lose big. According to the latest polls, Senator Ted Cruz leads him by anywhere between seven and nine points.

“Gosnell” is a difficult film to watch, not because of what appears on the screen—it’s rated PG-13—but because of what is left to the viewer’s imagination. This might explain why the theater where I caught the film Friday was mostly empty. But other explanations are worth considering. Kermit Gosnell, who was convicted of murder following a two-month trial in 2013, is currently serving a life sentence in prison with no possibility of parole. He was an abortion doctor based in Philadelphia, where state law prohibits the procedure beginning at 24 weeks gestational age.

Despite my best efforts, I know exactly what Texas Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke’s post-punk indie band from the mid-’90s sounds like (not as bad as you’d think!). At the same time, I don’t know much about Senate candidate Josh Hawley, who is 38 years old (meaning, around eight years younger than “rising star” Beto), the attorney general of Missouri, and the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate. In fact, Hawley’s name recognition outside of his state is probably negligible. When his name does come up in national political coverage, it’s mostly as a tack-on in pieces accessing opponent Claire McCaskill’s

CIUDAD HIDALGO, Mexico — Despite Mexican efforts to stop them at the border, a growing throng of Central American migrants resumed their advance toward the U.S. border early Sunday in southern Mexico. Their numbers swelled to about 5,000 overnight and at first light they set out walking toward the Mexican town of Tapachula, 10 abreast in a line stretching approximately a mile. It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers had materialized from since about 2,000 gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night. They seemed likely to be people who had been waiting on the bridge over the Suchiate

TAPACHULA, MEXICO -- A growing caravan of roughly 7,000 Central American immigrants continued its trek toward the United States on Sunday, blowing past Mexican police and immigration officials. The group, which has swelled in size in recent days, set out before dawn on the only road out of the small Mexican border town of Ciudad Hidalgo. It arrived in the afternoon in the city of Tapachula, more than 20 miles away. The migrants, nearly all from the poor and violent nation of Honduras, posed a growing political and humanitarian calamity for Mexico,

Every big U.S. election is interesting, but the coming midterms are fascinating for a reason most commentators forget to mention: The Democrats have no issues. The economy is booming and America’s international position is strong. In foreign affairs, the U.S. has remembered in the nick of time what Machiavelli advised princes five centuries ago: Don’t seek to be loved, seek to be feared. The contrast with the Obama years must be painful for any honest leftist.

Liberal Senator Bernie Sanders slammed President Donald Trump as a ´pathological liar´ and a ´terrible example´ for his seven grandchildren ahead of speculation he may make another presidential bid in 2020. ´I´ve got four kids, seven grandchildren - young kids - we try to raise our kids to be honest and treat other people with respect and compassion and what kind of terrible example, regardless of your political views - doesn´t matter whether you are conservative or progressive - you want your kids to be honest and decent. What kind of terrible example is this person in the White House

This is beyond odd, but here goes. I rise to defend Hillary Clinton. She is under attack and this time, the long knives are wielded by members of her own clan. Suddenly, after two years of indulging Clinton’s blame games and pity parties, lefty pundits say she’s talking too much, she’s stuck in the past, she had her chance and she blew it. Vanity Fair, declaring that she “still hasn’t learned the lessons of #MeToo,” is furious that Clinton said her husband’s Oval Office dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was not an abuse of power

San Francisco - Cow´s milk is allegedly a symbol used by white supremacists, according to PETA. In a recent statement, the animal advocate organization explains that dairy milk has been the drink of choice for supremacists because "the dairy industry inflicts extreme violence on other living beings." According to PETA, "some people might be surprised to learn that cows used by the dairy industry are slaughtered after about five years because their bodies are so spent from being kept constantly pregnant." (Snip) Peta links this concept to white supremacy by saying cows are controlled by humans, similar to the mindset of

CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta slammed “dishonest, deceptive” President Trump and mocked Press Secretary Sarah Sanders’ briefings on Monday at a CNN event in New York. “I wouldn’t put productive and a Sarah Sanders briefing in the same sentence,” Acosta said when asked if it’s more productive to hear from the press secretary or from Trump directly. Acosta -- who is billed as an impartial journalist -- declared that Sanders typically aims to “perform for the president” in order to maintain her own job security. He was part of a panel discussion at Citizen by CNN, a daylong

A gay man who describes himself as a liberal Democrat is accusing New Jersey Senator Cory Booker of sexually assaulting him in 2014. Booker is considered a leading contender for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous for now, penned a lengthy open letter that was posted on Twitter. In the letter he describes the assault that occurred in a bathroom following a meeting at his workplace, where the two met. The letter goes into excruciating detail. I stopped to use one of the building’s single-occupancy restrooms. Upon washing my hands

The fact that Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers refused to release the results of her polygraph exam until the day before her testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee last month caused some suspicion. And when we finally got a look at them, a lot of Judge Kavanaugh’s supporters were confirmed in their suspicions. It turned out that Ford’s examiner, former FBI agent Jeremiah Hanafin, only asked her two relevant questions. And that’s not how most folks imagine polygraph exams are supposed to go.

Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore on Saturday cheered the “last days of the dying dinosaur” in which old white men are starting to give way to a younger, more diverse U.S. electorate. Mr. Moore, a 64-year-old white man, spoke in front of a crowd at the Rome Film Festival after the Italian debut of his anti-President Trump film “Fahrenheit 11/9.” He argued that Mr. Trump “won the white vote” but demographics are changing in Democrats’ favor. “What you need to understand about the U.S. now, is that it is changing very quickly,” he said, according to
