My list of former faves keeps growing
Jewish World Review, by Alicia Colon

I used to be a film junkie and enjoyed many movies with talented stars but now I am so turned off by the antics of these Trump Deranged Syndrome addicted individuals, I´ve sworn off patronizing any of their endeavors. The list of my disenchantment now includes musicians and authors who have chosen to demonstrate the inanity of their political positions based on lies and distortions they have not even bothered to debate thoroughly.

I agree with no longer supporting these jerks with my money. Really wanted to see the new Jack Black movie....not a chance now. I´ll wait for it to show up on late night someday; if then.

I have been asking conservatives and especially Christians this question for the last 10 years. Why should we put one penny into the pocket of entertainers who display open hostility toward and work against everything you believe in? The answer has usually been we, I don´t believe in boycotts or it´s just entertainment or some other lame excuse. I am finally seeing and hearing conservatives starting to say that they will no longer watch movies or listen to music produced by these obnoxious Trump hating leftists. Too bad they did not take a stand 10 years ago. We might not have the completely anti-conservative, anti-Christian, and anti-traditional values entertainment industry that we now have.

My list of former faves includes the FBI who is refusing to release the unredacted documents Trump ordered them to release. The morons in Hollywood can say whatever they want and do whatever they want that merely proves that they are in fact, morons. However, the FBI, CIA, NSA, and DOJ along with the Senate committees can and do utterly destroy innocent people´s lives with absolutely no accountability.

You see, I can choose not to see or hear an entertainer. I cannot get away from the abject corruption and evil inside a government with absolutely NO integrity whatsoever.

If Trump does not immediately fire for cause all the FBI employees who refuse to follow his orders per the Constitution, he´ll be responsible for their corruption as well.

Former faves indeed.

Everyone she mentions and then some. Even the hosts of Grand Tour on Amazon Prime lost me with their swipes at Donald Trump (on and off air) and a particularly unfunny Iraq War joke. All I want to on a car show is super cars in exotic locations, not sneering political digs.

The actors are just the face of the corrupt and ugly Hollywood machine. New talent comes in and their minds are poisoned from the get go. Writers, producers, directors, the whole mess don´t just shove their agenda down the country´s throat, they fund anti-Americanism across the cultural and political landscape.

I can´t imagine they´ll turn things around and treat us with any respect, in turn they´ll get none from me.

Alicia covered my complete list very well. J. K. Rowling was the hardest one to reject after her brilliant work on the Harry Potter stories so I´m going to assume that her money corrupted her and attracted her to the wrong crowd.

Stephen King started sliding left long after he lost his talent and began to write pablum.

I think it´s funny that these people think their opinions mean more than anyone else´s. They are who they are because of talent, looks, and just pure luck. I suspect some are even conservative, but can´t speak out for fear of ruining their careers. Those people are the ones who keep their mouths shut, and you never hear anything from them.

Six years ago, when deranged people were targeting Sarah Palin with their bile because she visited Chick-fil-a, I posted some of their comments on my FB pg along with the link to the Legal Insurrection post where the truly vile insults were listed. A woman, whom I hadn´t seen or talked to since we were little kids, left this comment (which was not edited as I have done): "You die. B-t-h, never want to be associated with you, evermore, b-t-h."

As I said, I had had no contact with her for decades, so I looked her up and learned tha, at that time, she was a lecturer in elementary education in a midwest university.

It helps to never conflate the performance of entertainers, athletes included, and admiration for their work, with admiration for their character.

When entertainers themselves conflate their prowess on stage, court and field with intellectual and philosophical superiority it certainly grates and can cause harm to those who fail to separate their talent in their field with character.

The need to declare one´s "side" is one of the most divisive trends in the country and beyond. It sends the signal that politics belong in the everyday life and rather than simply disagreeing with others they are choosing to disassociate. They are begging us to add them to the former list if we dare disagree.

At least we still have Clint Eastwood.

It has been a pet theory of mine that the only reason that the Left has any devotees outside of those engrossed in identity politics is because their women are easy. Get loose women devoted to your cause and the men will follow, up to an certain age. Note the number of Leftist women that are single well into their 30´s. Thus their slavish devotion to abortion. It´s only a theory, but a lot of it makes sense.

Absolutely agree with Alicia on the Bush family. They took the Clintons to their hearts ("like another son," "my brother from another mother") despite their obvious character flaws, sexual predation and corruption.

I almost wish Heb! had gotten the nomination so that the Bush family could have experienced the public flaying the Clintons would have unleashed on him. All Trump did was call him "low energy Jeb." The Clintons would have destroyed him.

Entertainers seem to believe that they have some magic knowledge of the world that the rest of do not because they are famous. I have always found them in general to be the least educated and the least articulate (when they do not have a script) group in the country. I do not promote boycotting. I just personally do not invest my money in any of them.

I agree with every name the great Alicia mentions! The list would be much shorter if she only named the ones that are still worth watching and, sadly, most would be dead. Like John Wayne, William Powell, Ward Bond, Bogart, Myrna Loy, Olivia de Havilland, etc.

I´d quickly add that the following names Alicia forgot are also all dead to me now: Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fay, Jimmy Kimmel, Cher, George Clooney, John Legend, Whoopie Goldberg (sorry Lucianne for the same last name!), The Oprah, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Debra Messing, LeBron James, Ben Stiller, Samuel Jackson, Jennifer Lawrence, Bette Midler, Richard Gere, Johnny Depp, Arnold Schwarzenegger ... I could go on but I won´t. And these are just off the top of my head!

Lastly, the patrician Bush family ... like all snotty and wealthy WASPs ... believe they are to the manor born and therefore like anyone who supports them. Their fondness for the Clintons is directly connected to those grifters helping them in ways we don´t know about. Many people in "high places" often have low-life friends ... just in case they´re needed.

About the only things from Hollywood I will tolerate is Blue Bloods, NCIS, Blacklist and maybe one more. Since getting streaming and a Roku box, I have found a literal world of entertainment out there that is vastly superior to most of Hollywood´s dreck.

The news came out last year about Chinese investors and the Asian market being their target market. Gotta tell you folks that if you are sensing something off about the latest movies you are not imagining it. They no longer make movies aimed at the American market, it is all about the fastest growing market for their stuff. Asia.

In the new film (not a reboot but a sequel that occurs 40 years after the events in the 1978 original and ignores all intervening Halloween movies), the woman, a mom named Karen, is forever grumbling about her Parris Island–style upbringing. Now that the dust is settling on the Kavanaugh affair, it is well to remember that much of the concern over the stance he may take as a judge could be unjustified. These are life appointments, and judges’ views change once they are installed. The calculation of a solid conservative majority is apt to be fragile in fact. There was a great liberal bench installed by Franklin D. Roosevelt, after he terrified the Supreme Court with his legislative effort to pack the court in 1937.

Spreading lies to benefit the Democrat Party is what the establishment media do. For example, over the weekend, NBC News fabricated the lie that President Trump gushed over Confederate General Robert E. Lee. This was a deliberate lie to smear Trump as racist, and it was only corrected by NBC after the lie had run its course. Over the same weekend, CNN crafted its own lie to make Donald Trump Jr. look racist.

Second wave feminism, edgy, in-your-face, bra-burning feminism reached its crescendo in the late sixties and early seventies. The Pill hit the market at the same time which immediately opened a brave new world – a world where sex was de-coupled from reproduction. Almost overnight, marriage and motherhood were deemed to be “below” the aspirations of young girls who were encouraged to pursue careers rather than eligible men. Gloria Steinem’s Ms. magazine was at the forefront of this movement. Marriage was out, children were out, free love was in, and it was definitely fun while it lasted.

He’s … the token negro of the Trump administration.” “No one should be taking Kanye West seriously,” she added. “He clearly has issues; he’s already been hospitalized.”

The owner of the limo company involved in the upstate crash that killed 20 people served as an FBI informant in a 2009 terror plot that targeted two synagogues in Riverdale and an Air National Guard base, The Post has learned. Federal Department of Transportation records show that Prestige Limousine Chauffeur Service — identified by Gov. Andrew Cuomo as the company whose limo crashed on Saturday — is owned by Shahed Hussain of Gaansevort. Hussain’s listed address is the same as in bankruptcy records for the Shahed Hussain wh

Amy Schumer on Friday questioned whether or not white players in the NFL who don´t kneel with their black teammates are ´complicit´ in the ´endless racism people of color face in our country.´ The "Trainwreck" star went on to propose that more white players should stand up for their “brothers and sisters of color” by taking a knee. “I wonder why more white players aren’t kneeling,” she wrote. “Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the police brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers?

Democratic Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema, of Arizona, once described stay-at-home moms as leeches in a 2006 interview. “These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because they’re choosing to live that life,” she told Scottsdale nightlife magazine 944. “That’s bullshit. I mean, what the f*** are we really talking about here?” Sinema, who has come under fire recently for making derogatory comments about Arizona in newly resurfaced videos, also once described conservatives as “Neanderthals.”

TECUN UMAN, Guatemala — A standoff between thousands of Central American migrants trying to reach the United States and Mexican police stretched through the night with some migrants hanging from the closed border gate wailing "there are children here" while others slept on the crowded bridge linking Guatemala to Mexico. (Snip) As night fell on the bridge, the migrants´ frustration turned to despair as women clutching small children took up the rows in front of the gate pleading with the Mexican federal police. Some migrants yelled "We are hungry!" Others wailed that they had children while others set up

Hillary Clinton joined Eric Garner’s mother Gwen Carr for a book signing in Manhattan, New York Friday. Gwen Carr penned a book titled, “This Stops Now” in her ongoing effort to pursue justice for her son, Eric Garner who died after a Staten Island police officer held him in a choke hold. Back in 2014, Staten Island police officers attempted to arrest Eric Garner because he was selling unlicensed cigarettes. Video shows Eric Garner resisting arrest, however; racism was blamed for his death. Twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, who wrote the forward for Gwen Carr’s book, nodded in agreement after she

Liberal Senator Bernie Sanders slammed President Donald Trump as a ´pathological liar´ and a ´terrible example´ for his seven grandchildren ahead of speculation he may make another presidential bid in 2020. ´I´ve got four kids, seven grandchildren - young kids - we try to raise our kids to be honest and treat other people with respect and compassion and what kind of terrible example, regardless of your political views - doesn´t matter whether you are conservative or progressive - you want your kids to be honest and decent. What kind of terrible example is this person in the White House

The American bronze medalist who lost a world-championship cycling race to a transgender woman from Canada has criticized the results as unfair. "First transgender woman world champion...ever," Rachel McKinnon, an assistant professor of philosophy at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, bragged Sunday in a tweet that set off a massive debate. McKinnon gave a talk at the College of Charleston earlier this year asking: “Is it fair for transwomen athletes to compete in women’s categories?” While McKinnon argues it is, given the rules and regulations adopted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Court of Arbitration for

This is beyond odd, but here goes. I rise to defend Hillary Clinton. She is under attack and this time, the long knives are wielded by members of her own clan. Suddenly, after two years of indulging Clinton’s blame games and pity parties, lefty pundits say she’s talking too much, she’s stuck in the past, she had her chance and she blew it. Vanity Fair, declaring that she “still hasn’t learned the lessons of #MeToo,” is furious that Clinton said her husband’s Oval Office dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was not an abuse of power

TECUN UMAN, Guatemala — The Latest on a caravan of Central American migrants hoping to reach the United States (all times local): 4:30 p.m. The U.N. special investigator on the human rights of migrants has a message for the Mexican and U.S. governments: Respect the human rights of every person on the caravan heading from Central America and consider each case individually. Felipe Gonzalez Morales told a news conference at U.N. headquarters in New York on Friday that "there cannot be massive collective expulsions, for instance, in violation of international law." Some 3,000 migrants are currently trying to enter Mexico from Guatemala

The end of Robert Mueller’s investigation. The loss of health insurance for several million people. New laws that make it harder to vote. More tax cuts for the rich. More damage to the environment. A Republican Party molded even more in the image of President Trump. These are among the plausible consequences if the Republicans sweep the midterm elections and keep control of both the House and Senate. And don’t fool yourself. That outcome, although not the most likely one, remains possible. The last couple of weeks of polling have shown how it could happen.

The countdown is on for the arrival of what has come to be known as the “Honduran caravan” — an estimated 4,000 men, women, children and infants who left the troubled Honduran city of Pedro Sula last weekend on foot and by truck. Saturday will mark a week on the march for the throng of hopefuls who plan to assemble on the U.S.-Mexico border and demand entry. The caravan itself has become a complex political symbol that some observers say is yet another ploy by rival Democrats and a hostile news media to portray the president in a negative light

CIUDAD HIDALGO, Mexico — Despite Mexican efforts to stop them at the border, a growing throng of Central American migrants resumed their advance toward the U.S. border early Sunday in southern Mexico. Their numbers swelled to about 5,000 overnight and at first light they set out walking toward the Mexican town of Tapachula, 10 abreast in a line stretching approximately a mile. It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers had materialized from since about 2,000 gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night. They seemed likely to be people who had been waiting on the bridge over the Suchiate

Saudi Arabia acknowledged late Friday that journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, and claimed that he died in a fist fight. In a statement on Saudi state television, the government said 18 Saudi citizens have been detained pending the outcome of an investigation into the death of Mr. Khashoggi, a prominent government critic and legal U.S. resident. “Discussions between citizen Jamal Khashoggi and those who met him while he was in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul led to a brawl and a fist fight, which led to his death,” the statement said. “The investigations
