The State Board of Education in Texas voted on Friday to eliminate several historical figures, including Hillary Clinton and Helen Keller, from the state’s social studies curriculum. "In speaking to teachers and testifiers, they did not mention these specific deletions." The decision made by the 15-member body reportedly came

I´m sorry, first women nominated by a major political party for the highest office, secretary of state and first lady. I think you keep the old witch. Helen Keller too. How can you say the first deaf-blind person to achieve a college degree isn´t historic. It´s an amazing, inspirational story. Who are they leaving in?

Helen Keller is currently one of those names that is deeply embedded into our culture. A household name is another term - even after a century. They continue to make movies about her.

OTOH, HRC should be only deeply embedded in SuperMax. If she were part the Chinese political culture, she and all of her relations would have been "erased" in every sense of the word.

You can remove things from the curriculum - that doesn´t remove them from history. When history is hidden it tends to reappear with exaggeration and conspiracy theory. I am not in favor of "flawed, out of touch Hillary" being replaced with "Saint Hillary protector of

Democrats thinking about running for president in 2020 are dramatically changing the way the party talks about race in Donald Trump’s America: Get ready to hear a lot more about intersectionality, allyship, inclusivity and POC. White and nonwhite Democratic hopefuls are talking more explicitly about race than the party’s White House aspirants ever have — and shrugging off warnings that embracing so-called identity politics could distract from the party’s economic message and push white voters further into Donald Trump’s arms. While the 2020 primary will feature debates about Medicare for all and college affordability, the Democratic base also wants
