Nearly 300 people preyed upon
by pervy priests in Long Island
to receive compensation

New York Daily News, by Rich Schapiro

Nearly 300 men and women who suffered sex abuse from predatory priests in Long Island will receive payouts from the local Roman Catholic diocese, officials said. Some 293 claims have flowed into the Diocese of Rockville Center since it set up a special compensation program last year, the administrators said. A total of 221 victims have been offered cash settlements so far and the remaining 72 will receive offers within a few months, said co-administrator Camille Biros. Biros declined to reveal an estimate for the total amount of the payouts. But lawyers for the victims said the settlements range

Comments:
The payouts range up to half a million dollars. Catholic Social Services will need to resettle a huge number of refugees into the USA to make up the shortfall, at a time when the Marxist pope´s rhetoric is chasing away parishioners.

It´s really easy to make accusations pending a payoff as long as one doesn´t have to prove it happened. Really wish there were good lie detectors available.

FTA: "Nearly 300 men and women who suffered sex abuse from predatory priests..." It sure would be interesting to find out how many of the victims were male and how many were female. Of course this sort of reporting has been studiously avoided to protect the professional ´gay lobby´.

I had to laugh reading this.

"Nearly 300 people" should read "297 men and 3 women"...

This is a HOMOSEXUAL problem!!!!! Until the Catholic Church admits that and addresses it as such, NOTHING is going to change!!!!!!

But the Church won´t, because it is such a huge problem. And the MSM will NEVER admit it either, because they want to destroy Christianity, NOT make HOMOSEXUALS look like the predators that they truly are!!!!!!

I don´t believe 97% of this. The Catholic Church makes a terrible mistake by folding so easily. Anyone can claim that a priest patted their butt 50 years ago and then collect serious money. The Church should fight every claim and Catholic lawyers should donate their services. Just saying.

Was there any investigation involved, or did they just take people´s word to shut them up. Three hundred people is a lot of people. I suspect once money started to flow, people came out of the woodwork to get theirs.

What´s sickening me is how many could have been helped or cared for with the monies now going to victims who would NOT be there if the diocese´ had done the just action and allowed immediate criminal investigation of ALL of these claims? How many billions have gone to damaged victims of predators and not to schools, hospitals, unwed mothers, the elderly? This is what the sin of pride reaps. JMJ Pray for US.

This whole scene with the priests abusing their parishioners, the children, is so disgusting and so much more so that it continues. Why? Because the abused not only will not stop it, but in fact they allow their own children to be abused. What don´t they get? Is the Catholic Church, the Pope in Rome included, so holy to them that they willingly surrender their children to these perverts? That is sick. It is way beyond time it stopped. Those parent know how it harmed their whole lives and they gladly put their children through the same. This is pervert upon pervert. If the Catholic Church throughout the world being abolished is the only way to save these young, innocent children, mostly boys then abolish it. I am sickened each and every time I read about it. Abused adults, do something NOW. These priests with the knowledge of Cardinals and Rome, are happily taking your money while they use it to secrete the abusive homosexuals so that they may move on to continue their "good works". Give them your money if you have to you disgusting helpers, but please pass your children on to others who will love and care for them.

#15, you are buying into the storyline the MSM is throwing out there. These were not LITTLE CHILDREN!!!!!!!

The largest majority of these victims were NOT little children!!!!! They were teenage boys being abused by HOMOSEXUAL predators!!!!! There were a few girls (also mostly 12 or older). But they make up a tiny percentage of the victims!!!!! Look at the FACTS -- not the anti-Christian "spin" from the MSM!!!!! These were not PEDOPHILES (men who sexually abuse pre-pubescent children). They were PEDERASTISTS (men who sexually abuse teenage boys)!!!!!

I will scream this from the rooftops over and over again -- this is a HOMOSEXUAL problem!!!!!!!!!! Until the Catholic Church admits to that and does total housekeeping to get the HOMOSEXUALS away from public ministry, things are NOT going to get better!!!!!!

They are the advance line of the migrant caravan that Donald Trump has said is attempting an “invasion” of the US. But, as a 400-strong group of asylum-seeking Central Americans arrived in the Mexican border town of Tijuana on Saturday, they appeared more concerned with love than war. The splinter caravan – which is made up of dozens of LGBTQ+ people – was in celebratory mood as two of its members, 23-year-old Erick Dubon and Pedro Nehemias, 22, got married. The couple – originally from Honduras where same-sex unions are banned – tied the knot ahead of applying for asylum

Investigators are examining a work of art to establish whether it is a Picasso snatched from a Dutch museum in 2012. The painting, Picasso’s Tete d’Arlequin (Harlequin’s Head) was stolen six years ago in a haul of seven valuable artworks from the Kunsthal gallery in Rotterdam. U.S. officials say the theft took a year to pull off and involved commercial spies, a Chinese-backed company, a Taiwanese chipmaker and employees affiliated with Micron Technology, a U.S.-based microchip behemoth. Yet what Micron called “one of the boldest schemes of commercial espionage in recent times” is most notable because it’s not unusual. Championing the cause of the poor, Pope Francis on Sunday lamented that "the wealthy few" enjoy what, "in justice, belongs to all" and said Christians cannot remain indifferent to the growing cries of the exploited and the indigent, including migrants. Francis invited about 6,000 poor people as well as some of the volunteers who help them to the splendor of St. Peter´s Basilica where he celebrated Mass on a day the Catholic Church dedicates to the needy. Later, he sat down with 1,500 of the indigent for a lunch of lasagna, chicken, mashed potatoes and tiramisu in a Vatican auditorium.

Patrons at a small bar in Pocatello, Idaho, were a bit confused as to why a stranger showed up intent on watching the Harvard-Yale football game one day in 1982. He tried to explain, but no one really paid much attention until he offered to buy all the beer. Had they been listening, they might not have believed him. He was only there because he received a cryptic phone call that consisted of just three words: "Watch the game." Still, the message was received. There was only one reason he could have received such a strange call: After four years,

Mirebalais, Haiti — Cervical cancer is a disease that Haiti cannot afford. And in most cases, it’s a disease the country’s broken healthcare system cannot treat. There is just one MRI scanner in the entire country of 11 million people. Radiation treatment does not exist — for any kind of cancer — because there are no machines. Cancer screenings and early detection programs are limited, and so is access to lifesaving care. In a country already struggling to manage maternal deaths and childhood diseases that have been largely controlled in other parts of the world, cervical cancer is nearly always a death

It has been speculated that Mitt Romney’s Utah Senate seat could serve as a prelude to another Presidential run. In the most ambitious version of events, he could even challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 primaries, newly legitimized and augmented by his actions in the Capitol Building. This would allow moderate Republicans to reclaim their party’s mantle and unroot alt-right influences. But would Romney do it? His willingness to unequivocally challenge Trump could be seen either as a pro or con by Republicans, depending on their opinions of the sitting president.

To look back at the moment John Kerry entered US public life, addressing the Senate foreign relations committee on 22 April 1971, is to be struck by many things. There are the famous words, of course: “How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?” There is the shock of dark, Beatles-inspired hair, the distinctly British-tinged accent. Above all, there is the self-possession.
