What’s really behind the rise
in political violence

New York Post, by Ben Shapiro

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 9/14/2018 8:52:29 AM

This is far from the only case of political violence we’ve seen in recent years. The most famous was, of course, the congressional baseball shooting by a crazed Bernie Sanders supporter. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was nearly murdered during the carnage. Now Scalise says: “You’ve got some people on the left that just want this idea of resist … You’ve gotten to where there are death threats and literal attacks on lives … and frankly, what I want to see is the left stand up against this.” Meanwhile, the right has seen its own violent crazies.

Ben, really? Look at the language of the left and the left leadership´s adoration of the "resistance" and antifa. Do you see that from the right? Has anyone in the leadership on the right called harassment, intimidation and outright violence against those on the left? No.

And to the economy, it IS Trump´s policies that are turning the economy around. To say otherwise is intellectually dishonest.

And Finally, "Free Trade" isn´t allowing China flood our markets with anything and everything while they simultaneously limit imports and apply tariffs what they do allow in.

I beg to differ:

The economy is far too complex and government is far too complicated for executive tinkering to be attributed to success or blamed for failure.

Obama had nothing to do with our rotten economy? Trump had nothing to do with our present flourishing economy?

Sorry, Ben is wrong.

The most famous was, of course, the congressional baseball shooting by a crazed Bernie Sanders supporter. .... Meanwhile, the right has seen its own violent crazies. Last month, Robert Chain, 68, of California was arrested after allegedly calling The Boston Globe newsroom and threatening to shoot employees. .... With that said, something is deeply wrong.

What’s deeply wrong is that we now attribute all failings to the government and all successes to the government.

No, Ben. What´s wrong is "journalists" like you who conflate the rantings of the mentally ill with the wholesale campaign of physical violence perpetrated by rank-and-file Left. I not that you were unable to cite a single case of actual violence by a Trump supporter. Now, go buy Jonah a coffee and tell each other how awful Trump is.

The Nazis had their Brownshirts and the Progressives have their Antifa. Antifa attacked people peacefully attending Trump rallies with the complicity of local Democrat politicians and police. Antifa snuck up on conservative demonstrators and tried to kill them by hitting them in the head with a heavy metal bike lock and largely escaped the consequences because the Dem local DA chose not to prosecute him for violating civil rights and attempted murder. Where have Republicans used violence for political purposes?

Venezuelans suffering through the worst crisis in the nation’s history have responded with outrage to actor Jim Carrey’s call to the world to “say yes to socialism.” In a column published Wednesday, columnist Laureano Márquez argued that Carrey misunderstands the “repression” conducted in the name of socialism in places like the Latin American country. Márquez, writing for the Venezuelan outlet Runrunes, gives Carrey the benefit of the doubt as an actor with no known education in political science. “Sometimes it seems that Hollywood stars’ inability to understand politics is directly proportional

Andrew Cuomo Is America’s Problem Now
Daily Beast, by Liz Mair    Original Article

In one of the most predictable outcomes yet this election cycle, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo won his Thursday primary against actress and leftist Democrat Cynthia Nixon. It took all of half an hour after the polls closed for the AP to call the race, in a result that centrist Democrats and liberals who prioritize experience will find a relief. But it is also a loss for America as a whole, because with Cuomo’s nomination comes his virtually certain re-election, which in turn gives him a platform to run for president in 2020

Before moving back to the district to run for office, Wallace spent time in Maryland and South Africa running the Wallace Global Fund, his family´s foundation, which has given millions to radical left-wing groups.

Former mayor Ed Koch took to his grave the belief that Andrew Cuomo was behind the scurrilous posters that appeared in Queens during the 1977 mayoral race between Koch and Mario Cuomo. “Vote for Cuomo, not the homo,” the posters said in a gay-baiting bid just days before voters went to the polls. That wasn’t all. In “I, Koch,” a 1985 unauthorized biography of Koch, my co-authors and I reported that Mario Cuomo’s campaign “hired a private detective to try to find out who Koch’s ‘boyfriend’ was and attempted to

We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers. The New York Times Opinion section is facing a challenge unlike any faced by a modern American newspaper. It´s not just the Sarah Jeong controversy. Or Quinn Norton´s firing. Watching the slow, public evisceration of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by Senate Democrats —on the strength of one unsubstantiated charge of alleged sexual aggression 36 years ago when Kavanaugh was in high school — a question comes to mind: Have you no sense of decency, Sen. Feinstein? Decency was once an important feature of the Democratic Party’s story. Long before Bork became a verb, long before Clarence Thomas was dragged through the mud because a conservative black man proved a profound threat to Democrats, the party held fast to the notion of decency.

When Christine Blasey Ford finally admitted that it was she who had leveled the uncorroborated charges of sexual assault against SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, she was immediately asked if she would be willing to repeat her charges under oath. Her lawyer, Democratic activist Debra Katz, claimed her client was willing to testify before Congress. However, according to the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, neither Ford nor her lawyer has responded to any of several attempts to confirm that she will attend the Monday hearing that was set up so she can tell her story in Kavanaugh’s presence.
