Andrew Cuomo Is America’s Problem Now
Daily Beast, by Liz Mair

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 9/14/2018 8:36:52 AM

In one of the most predictable outcomes yet this election cycle, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo won his Thursday primary against actress and leftist Democrat Cynthia Nixon. It took all of half an hour after the polls closed for the AP to call the race, in a result that centrist Democrats and liberals who prioritize experience will find a relief. But it is also a loss for America as a whole, because with Cuomo’s nomination comes his virtually certain re-election, which in turn gives him a platform to run for president in 2020

Comments:
That is unless Marc Molinaro becomes the next Governor of NY. Could happen if the media bothered to report that Cuomo has a GOP opponent.

America is full of one-trick ponies who can win locally through corruption, bribes, favors and name recognition but couldn´t get anywhere near a shot at the presidency. Right, John Kasick? John McCain? Mitt Romney? Ted Kennedy? John Kerry? Geraldo Brown?

Fortunately for America NYC isn´t the pit of despair that rules the nation. When the Thug tries to pitch his road game outside of the state he will get the richly deserved smack down he is due. He wouldn´t even be the Gov if the average dopey NY resident did a tiny bit of research and understood that jury selection pools are drawn from diver´s registration, NOT the voting rolls.

Venezuelans suffering through the worst crisis in the nation’s history have responded with outrage to actor Jim Carrey’s call to the world to “say yes to socialism.” In a column published Wednesday, columnist Laureano Márquez argued that Carrey misunderstands the “repression” conducted in the name of socialism in places like the Latin American country. Márquez, writing for the Venezuelan outlet Runrunes, gives Carrey the benefit of the doubt as an actor with no known education in political science. “Sometimes it seems that Hollywood stars’ inability to understand politics is directly proportional

This is far from the only case of political violence we’ve seen in recent years. The most famous was, of course, the congressional baseball shooting by a crazed Bernie Sanders supporter. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was nearly murdered during the carnage. Now Scalise says: “You’ve got some people on the left that just want this idea of resist … You’ve gotten to where there are death threats and literal attacks on lives … and frankly, what I want to see is the left stand up against this.” Meanwhile, the right has seen its own violent crazies.

President Donald Trump insisted on Thursday that he wasn’t rattled by an explosive op-ed that shook his administration to the core this week, using a rally nearly 2,000 miles from Washington to try to quell mounting concerns that his presidency is spiraling out of control. “The so-called resistance is angry because their horrible ideas have been rejected by the American people and it’s driving them crazy. Crazy. They’re the ones, honestly, that have been driven crazy,” Trump said during his hour-plus remarks in Billings, Montana, turning the tables on those who have questioned his temperament.

Trust a "psychologist" to wreak havoc with someone else´s family. When Christine Blasey Ford finally surfaced her over three decades-old claim of sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh, when they were both teenagers, did she consider for a moment the effect of her accusation on Kavanaugh´s daughters, already escorted from the hearing room after witnessing their father being endlessly attacked by maniacs in the audience, not to mention Kavanaugh´s wife? Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford will go head-to-head in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee next Monday. The hearing sets up a potential show down on Capitol Hill, the likes of which have not been seen since Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill testified in 1991 after she accused him of sexual harassment. Thomas was ultimately confirmed after a bitter and bruising battle. But the Kavanaugh-Ford hearing comes more than 25 years later, amid the #metoo movement, and when women have been energized after the election of Donald Trump as president.
