Trump Should Worry About "Human
Sources" inside the U.S. Government

Frontpage, by Michael Ledeen

As we dig in to Bob Woodward’s latest, let’s start by looking at intelligence. One of the most fascinating elements in Woodward’s accounts is what the Intelligence Community told Trump after the election, and how the president-elect reacted. One of Woodward’s claims is that Trump was very skeptical about human sources, and that claim has been confirmed by the then-head of the intel apparatus, James Clapper: According to Clapper—a man with a famously inaccurate memory, it must be said—President-elect Trump didn’t put much stock in human sources. Trump said, "l don´t believe in human sources.

It appears that Obozo infested his thugs into the government as ´Civil Servants´.

Hey, President Trump, all you have to do is cut the positions of ALL those appointed by Obozo who are still in govt. jobs.

Problem Solved!

Young conservatives, be warned: Reasonable ideas written in college—such as the notion that binge drinking can lead to dangerous consequences for young women—can and will be twisted and used against you should you be nominated for high-powered positions two and a half decades later. That’s what’s happening to Neomi Rao, President Donald Trump’s nominee to replace Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and who reportedly is on the short list for the Supreme Court. Rao, a 45-year-old Indian-American, has become the latest target of liberal activist groups and media smears,

To understand events around the world today, one must think in terms of the class struggle. This sentence sounds like something that could be written by a doctrinaire Marxist. But it is nonetheless true. Much of the current tension in America and in many other democracies is in fact a product of a class struggle. It’s not the kind of class struggle that Karl Marx wrote about, with workers and peasants facing off against rapacious capitalists, but it is a case of today’s ruling class facing disaffection from its working class.

Americans have long understood that children are best cared for by their parents. The state can only intervene in the family when there is demonstrable evidence of abuse and neglect. This has long been established in our laws. But now, transgender ideology is silencing doctors and challenging the way courts define parental abuse and neglect. Last year in Ohio, a judge removed a biological girl from her parents’ custody after they declined to help her “transition” to male with testosterone supplements. The Cincinnati Children’s gender clinic recommended these treatments for gender dysphoria (the condition of being distressed with one’s biological sex).

Even the best efforts by the wrongdoers´ media mouthpieces are not sufficient to keep us from seeing that. Back in the days of the Cold War, much was said about the titanic power of the Soviet Union. The USSR, we were told, was a superpower the equal of the United States, possibly even superior. This meme was spread by lefties who wanted the USSR to win, by sincere pacifists hoping to stop war before it could begin, and by an enormous cohort of liberals who repeated it because they heard it from the first two. (Snip) The same trope is being repeated regarding China. China, we are told, is the coming nation.

Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Tom Cotton of Arkansas are right to urge that the United States government recognize Israel’s sovereignty over a section of the Golan Heights. Such recognition is long overdue. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that he is asking President Trump to recognize the legitimacy of Israel’s control of the 7 percent of the heights that it annexed in 1981 after capturing them from Syria during 1967’s Six-Day War. He made the remarks at a joint press conference in Jerusalem with U.S. national security adviser John Bolton.

There is a famous quote from George Orwell´s 1984: Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past. The vastness of that insight cannot be overstated. As an amateur historian, I cringe at the outright lies being fed to the public, some of it by people who know they are lying. Others do it unaware. Unless these lies are addressed, political solutions to many of the world´s problems will prove impossible. Let´s start with a common innocuous lie. The story of Granada is all about the Islamic Moors.

To get a sense of how powerful freshman Congressmember (her preferred title) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is, just look at her effect on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Specifically, look at the difference between Pelosi’s inaugural speech in 2019 and her speech in 2007, when the California Democrat was elected the first female speaker in U.S. history. Back then, Pelosi offered several tributes to American soldiers fighting in Iraq. We must honor our military, veterans and first responders as “the heroes that they are,” she graciously offered. But Pelosi’s message on Thursday was almost directly and proportionately reversed.

“Hoist with his own petard” is a phrase taken from Shakespeare and means someone destroyed himself with a weapon (a petard, that is, small bomb) intended for another. President Trump has hoisted the #NeverTrumpers on theirs and is about to do the same thing to the now irremediably lunatic Democrats. Christopher Bedard has done a brilliant job describing the downfall of the #NeverTrump scribblers. It’s worth reading it all, but here are some highlights: The Never Trumpers say they don’t recognize a Republican Party where the core tenets are neither free trade nor foreign democracy promotion.

In 2006 I wrote an international bestseller about demography. Which is harder to do than you might think. But it was leavened with Dean Martin gags and whatnot. Nevertheless, it made some big-picture points: Will China be the hyperpower of the 21st century? Answer: No. Its population will get old before it´s got rich. That´s a cute line. I´ve been using it since the dawn of the millennium and I´ve been interested to watch it catch on. A few years back, I had the pleasure of hearing Henry Kissinger use it:

“The war is on,” General Mike Flynn wrote three years ago. And he went on to describe it in our best-selling book The Field of Fight. We face a working coalition that extends from North Korea and China to Russia, Iran, Syria, Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela and Nicaragua. We are under attack, not only from nation-states directly, but also from al Qaeda, Hezbollah, ISIS, and countless other terror groups. It’s a world war, and the enemy alliance is composed of both radical Islamist groups and nations—above all, Iran and its proxies--and radical secular tyrannies, like Putin’s.

President Trump on Thursday abruptly denied military aircraft to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a foreign trip just minutes before the congressional delegation was set to depart, in a stunning response to her call to delay the State of the Union address amid the government shutdown. In a curt letter, Trump said her trip has been “postponed.” “Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday asked President Donald Trump to reschedule his State of the Union address — or deliver it in writing — as long as the government remains shut down. "Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Trump.

Instead, she stood firm in her resolve to delay the January 29 event until the government completely re-opens. It’s tough to tell. Does this make the shutdown a bug … or a feature? Nancy Pelosi has asked Donald Trump to put off his State of the Union speech to the joint session of Congress until after the funding issues have been resolved: (Copy of Letter/Tweet) And with that, the new Speaker of the House just made the best case possible for a perpetual shutdown. Kidding! What I meant to say was that Nancy Pelosi has finally sounded a note of wisdom, at least in her reminder that presidents used to just deliver a report in writing to Congress.
