Collins, Kavanaugh, and the
Rewards of ‘Moderation’

American Spectator, by David Catron

Original Article

We have all seen those grisly stories in the news about people who adopt dangerous predators as pets only to be torn limb from limb by the very creatures they have cosseted for years. This is analogous to what is now happening to Susan Collins. The Maine Senator has frequently curried favor with the left by taking “principled stands” against her fellow Republicans on issues like Obamacare, and basked in the praise of progressives. Collins presumably thought this meant she was safe from the left’s innate brutishness when she took a perfectly reasonable position regarding SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Voting for the lesser of two evils always gets you more evil.
We,the people, have never needed the guidance, wisdom and intellectual superiority of the cluelessly compromised weak willed and morally bankrupt "moderates"...

This is the perfect analogy.

Despite her “Republican” credentials, Ms. Collins is a liberal. Hence, she’s able to take “principled” stands against her friends because she “feels” certain things.

It’s a shame she’s grown so old and stayed so dumb.

"it is extraordinary to me that people would want to participate in trying to essentially buy a Senator’s vote."

Hahahahaha - This is hilarious. Half of the Senate would be shocked to hear this statement and the other half would be running scared. How else do they end up rich and corrupted after a couple of terms?

Collins is losing her faculties. Her head was shaking uncontrollably in the same way that Hillary shakes. She won´t be with us much longer and we can find a real conservative to replace her. She has done us as much damage as the recently departed war hero.

FTA: “And it is extraordinary to me that people would want to participate in trying to essentially buy a Senator’s vote.”

Got a good early morning belly laugh outta that one! Don’t even bother denying buying votes is an anomaly. We all know that money is the major motivator in how our dedicated public servants will vote. Influence peddling is the grease that facilitates the movement of the gears in our corrupt government.

Evidently, our esteemed FBI is not interested in extortion being committed on a sitting member of the Senate any longer. Since they have gotten into the sedition business, they really have no time or inclination to actually investigate extortion. Looks like Susan is on her own.

A few million here, a few million there then senators make their real money by becoming lobbyists. Unfortunately for Susan she is too old for that kind of work and her position in the middle of the road only gets people hit by cars. Ayn Rand had a thing to say that both Collins and the late ´Maverick´ & the rest of the Rino herd,should have been made to memorize;

"There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil. The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice. But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out the truth in order to pretend that no choice or values exist, who is willing to sit out the course of any battle, willing to cash in on the blood of the innocent or to crawl on his belly to the guilty, who dispenses justice by condemning both the robber and the robbed to jail, who solves conflicts by ordering the thinker and the fool to meet each other halfway. In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit. "

The Republican Senate has the votes to confirm Kavanagh. If any of the closet-Democrats chose to raise their ugly heads, and defect, the Republican party is dead. There is no excuse not to confirm Kavanagh. The Republican party is suppose to be an acceptable alternative to the Democratic party. If too many of them side with the Democrats, what use are they? The Republican party is useless if it cannot stand apart from the Democrats.

The Kavanaugh hearings should have erased any doubts about the true nature of the Senate. As currently constituted, it is nowhere near the "august deliberative body" it purports to be. It is a Club for Clowns. That includes Spartacus as well as McConnell. Virtually all are despicable little twerps who never held a real job but sucked off the public trough for most of their lives. Any doubts? Look into the "Stock Act" to understand how they voted to give themselves insider trading rights. That is how they all come in poor and leave rich. It is a joke....

Tall Poppy Syndrome occurs when someone gets cut down to size after becoming too big for her britches, too important too fast, too superior to those around her. What are Donald Trump´s chances for re-election in 2020? If history is any guide, pretty good. In early 1994, Bill Clinton´s approval rating after two years in office hovered around a dismal 40 percent. The first midterm elections of the Clinton presidency were an utter disaster. A new generation of younger, more conservative Republicans led by firebrand Newt Gingrich and his "Contract with America" gave Republicans a majority in the House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. Republicans also picked up eight Senate seats in 1994 to take majority control of both houses of Congress.

America has a national security and humanitarian crisis at our southern border, and President Donald Trump has promised to end it. One day after Nancy Pelosi and her modest but all too real Democratic majority in the House of Representatives voted to interfere in Texas v. Of that number, 27% say the law should be eliminated so we can return to the way things were before Obamacare was shoved down our unwilling throats, and 31% agree that it should be invalidated so it can be replaced by a program that works.

The televised presidential address from the Oval Office, a staple of communication between the chief executive and the people in the second half of 20th century, has recently been in desuetude. Former President Barack Obama delivered only three such addresses in his eight years in office. President Donald Trump this week delivered his first one, just days short of completing half his term. It was a sober address, short but touching some emotive chords, carefully based on facts and proposals -- contrary to the Democrats´ meme that it would be based on fears, not facts.
