Andrew Cuomo has no credibility left
New York Post, by Editorial

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s credibility stands in shreds just hours before Thursday’s primary, as fresh evidence puts his fingerprints all over what he insists are just a series of remarkable coincidences. As The Post’s Anna Sanders and Bruce Golding report, a top Cuomo campaign official emailed this paper trying to plant a news story that mirrored the same points contained in that dirty-trick mailer accusing opponent Cynthia Nixon of being “silent on anti-Semitism.” That would be the very same mailer the notoriously hands-on governor insisted he knew nothing about and hadn’t even seen,

Problem is some people measure credibility way differently than we do.

We look for honesty, consistency, integrity. The left only look for loyalty to the cult and its cause.

Now I note that a Kerry staffer is being set ups for that remark that his opponent is anti-semitic. Just like in "Vote for Cuomo, not the Homo" when Koch was the opponent. The offer by Poland’s president to host an American military base and call it “Fort Trump” is certainly going to test the debate over the North Atlantic Treaty. On the one hand, Democrats and McCain Republicans have been railing about Mr. Trump’s supposed retreat from global leadership. On the other hand, many fear the illiberal nationalism of which President Duda, who offered “Fort Trump,” is an avatar. Mr. Duda sprang the business about “Fort Trump” at a joint press conference Tuesday at the White House. He is here in advance of the double jubilee of the restoration in 1918 of Poland’s sovereignty. The most important piece of business journalism published last week was a 14,000-word article in the New Yorker titled “The Ghost In the Machine.” The headline is plucked from a 1967 book by Arthur Koestler, the central theme of which is that man has “some built-in error or deficiency which predisposes him towards self-destruction.” In this case, it’s one man in particular: Mark Zuckerberg, the 34-year-old founder and chief executive of Facebook Inc. Over the summer, he gave a series of interviews to the New Yorker’s Evan Osnos. What emerges instead is

If you think Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., is the only one who would stoop to circulating a dishonestly edited video of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation fight, you are sorely mistaken. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., CNN, MSNBC, and Politico all showed this week they’ve no problem sinking to similar lows in pursuit of that sweet, sweet anti-Trump resistance action. On Tuesday, all four groups shared a truncated video of Kavanaugh, claiming it raises new questions about whether he sexually assaulted a woman in the early 1980s when they were both in high school.

Once, she was seen as a victim, her youth and relative innocence taken advantage of by a powerful, much older man who sucked her into his vortex. Or, alternately, she was a Lolita, a seductress who wittingly betrayed the Mother Teresa–like figure who’d saved her from life in an orphanage. These days, Soon-Yi Previn is seen as an accomplice of sorts, who, in the wake of renewed accusations by Dylan Farrow that Dylan’s adoptive father, Woody Allen, sexually molested her, has stood by Allen even as his reputation has plummeted

It’s uncanny how closely the Democrats are following the Anita Hill playbook as they try to “Anita” Brett Kavanaugh, looking to prevent his confirmation as a Supreme Court Justice. Like Hill, Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford is a professor who made her accusation in the expectation of anonymity, never dreaming that newspapers from coast to coast would blazon her name across Page One. Hill had received assurances from a Democratic Senate Judiciary Committee staffer that, in all likelihood, Clarence Thomas would quietly withdraw his name from consideration, to spare himself and his family embarrassment.

Watching the slow, public evisceration of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by Senate Democrats —on the strength of one unsubstantiated charge of alleged sexual aggression 36 years ago when Kavanaugh was in high school — a question comes to mind: Have you no sense of decency, Sen. Feinstein? Decency was once an important feature of the Democratic Party’s story. Long before Bork became a verb, long before Clarence Thomas was dragged through the mud because a conservative black man proved a profound threat to Democrats, the party held fast to the notion of decency.
