Ken Starr proves the perils of
prosecutors probing presidents

New York Post, by Seth Lipsky

Original Article

Almost the whole gang’s here. The hottest names in the news today make appearances in the new book by Ken Starr, the independent prosecutor who tried to topple President Bill Clinton. In addition to Bill, there’s Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Monica Lewinsky, John McCain and even today’s man of the hour, Brett Kavanaugh, newest nominee to the Supreme Court. Just one name is missing — Osama bin Laden. On whom, more in a moment. Starr’s book, out this week, is titled “Contempt.” It’s a memoir of the Clinton investigation that led to only the second impeachment of a president

He should have prosecuted Hillary and saved us millions of dollars and the headaches of her horrible campaign. Both Clinton´s belong in jail for their money laundering through their Clinton Foundation and the selling of our secrets to the Chinese. Shame on Ken Starr!

Isn´t it interesting that literally every presidency since Nixon has had a Special Counsel / Special Prosecutor digging for dirt against the president with the exception of Carter and Obama. Well there is Ford but, he doesn´t count.

Carter was just incompetent and Obama was the most corrupt president in modern history. Yet no Special Prosecutor.

Something stinks in DC.

Ken Starr is a Joke! As President of Baylor University, the town of Waco Texas was subjected to the criminal activity of the Bears football team...including robbery, rape, shoplifting and vandalism. His team, his responsibility!

Starr´s experience wasn´t exactly typical, considering how Nixon´s prosecutors were treated like folk heroes, and Reagan´s didn´t fare too badly. The outcome (and how the MSM can spin their historical context) will largely determine their legacy.

It nauseates me to hear of unsavory characters (yes, Starr is one of them, along with Omarosa or whatever her name is et al.)who exploit their experiences by writing books in order to cash in while the iron is hot. Starr had his day and utterly failed. He is purely Milquetoast.

Brussels is on edge, but it has no intention of going back to the Brexit drawing board. Chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier told a meeting of EU27 ambassadors Friday morning that whatever political “difficulties” Theresa May is experiencing in London, the bloc has a “duty” to stand firm on its key Brexit red lines, according to EU diplomats present. For her part, May is standing firm on the deal in the face of a gale of criticism and is intent on pushing the deal to a vote in the House of Commons. But if political opponents in her own party

To look back at the moment John Kerry entered US public life, addressing the Senate foreign relations committee on 22 April 1971, is to be struck by many things. There are the famous words, of course: “How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?” There is the shock of dark, Beatles-inspired hair, the distinctly British-tinged accent. Above all, there is the self-possession. FRENCH MEADOWS RESERVOIR, Calif.—Obscured amid the chaos of California’s latest wildfire outbreak is a striking sign of change that may help curtail future devastating infernos. After decades of butting heads, some environmentalists and logging supporters have largely come to agreement that forests need to be logged to be saved. The current fires are hitting populated areas along the edges of forests and brush lands, including the 142,000-acre Camp Fire in Northern California’s Butte County. That now ranks as the most deadly and destructive in state history, killing at least 63 people, leaving hundreds missing and destroying more than 9,800 homes.

If you want to know where media bias resides, simply look at who the media isn’t questioning. The most recent row between CNN’s Jim Acosta and President Donald Trump reinforced this observation. On the heels of the Trump Administration’s decision to revoke the press pass for Jim Acosta (which a D.C. judge has since ordered the White House to reinstate), the “mainstream” media backed Acosta in decrying the purported assault on America’s hallowed First Amendment. Piggybacking on the mainstream media’s argument, the New York Times’ “True Conservative™,” Bret Stephens, shared his fear that the United States will resemble autocratic Turkey

After courting every city in America large enough to support its own Jimmy John’s franchise, Amazon is going to split its HQ2 between Long Island City in New York and Crystal City in the D.C. metro area. The race for Governor of Georgia between Republican Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacey Abrams wasn’t particularly close. Kemp won by 55,000 votes. But since the election, Abrams has tried to position herself for a recount, or something, that might magically erase that impressive margin. Today she gave up, sort of: Stacey Abrams halted her run for Georgia governor Friday, but the Democrat said she would not concede the contest to Republican Brian Kemp and planned to launch a voting rights group to file “major” litigation challenging election policies. There will be no such “major” litigation. What would it challenge?

In a brief hearing at Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana, Judge Robert J. Avenatti’s longtime law firm, Eagan Avenatti, skipped $213,254 in rent payments due over four months, leading the landlord, the Irvine Co., to sue for eviction.

In Florida, the contest for governor between Republican Ron DeSantis and Democrat Andrew Gillum appeared all but over Thursday, with a machine recount showing DeSantis with a large enough advantage over Gillum to avoid a hand recount in that race. The latest numbers posted online by the state of Florida show DeSantis with more than 33,683 votes than Gillum.

It has been speculated that Mitt Romney’s Utah Senate seat could serve as a prelude to another Presidential run. In the most ambitious version of events, he could even challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 primaries, newly legitimized and augmented by his actions in the Capitol Building. This would allow moderate Republicans to reclaim their party’s mantle and unroot alt-right influences. But would Romney do it? His willingness to unequivocally challenge Trump could be seen either as a pro or con by Republicans, depending on their opinions of the sitting president.

Francis invited about 6,000 poor people as well as some of the volunteers who help them to the splendor of St. Peter´s Basilica where he celebrated Mass on a day the Catholic Church dedicates to the needy. Later, he sat down with 1,500 of the indigent for a lunch of lasagna, chicken, mashed potatoes and tiramisu in a Vatican auditorium.
