Florence Now a Major Category 4
Hurricane; Destructive Strike
Likely on Southeast Coast

The Weather Channel, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 9/10/2018 9:08:25 PM

Hurricane Florence has rapidly intensified into a Category 4 major hurricane south-southeast of Bermuda and is likely to lash the U.S. East Coast later this week with life-threatening storm surge, destructive winds and massive inland rainfall flooding in one of the strongest strikes on record for this part of the East Coast. If you´re in the East Coast threat zone, now is the time to develop or firm up your hurricane preparedness plan and be ready to implement it if necessary. Residents in coastal areas should follow evacuation orders from local officials because of the potential for life-threatening storm-surge flooding.

Been through a few hurricanes. Gotta stay away from the beaches and the creeks.

Good luck to the folks there. I´d be taking some vacation tomorrow, boarding up windows, loading up the car and truck and heading west before the crowds make it hard.

A cat 4 storm is major, by definition. "Major" in this headline is gratuitous sensationalism, which is about par for the course ever since championing the fraud of Globalwarmism became the Tabloid Weather Channel´s long term marketing strategy.

The First Lady peaked her arms through the Italian-made, virgin wool cape as she and President Donald Trump greeted guests at the White House for the holiday occasion.

Department of Homeland Security officials said Monday that they started to get information from "multiple sources including individuals in the Mexican government" of potential waves or groups of individuals who were discussing an incursion into legal ports of entry in California by attempting to pass through vehicle lanes. The officials briefed reporters that the information led to Customs and Border Protection to suspend northbound traffic for about three hours at San Ysidro in San Diego, California, to "add more control measures." San Ysidro is now operating with 15 vehicle lanes of traffic, down from 23 on Sunday and 26

Paradise Mayor Jody Jones got the call on Friday: President Donald Trump was coming to her fire-scarred town Saturday for a tour, and he wanted her to join him. (Snip) “If you’re a normal person, you always think, ‘Oh, it’d be cool to meet the president.’ But you think it would be about something positive. SAN DIEGO — As thousands of migrants in a caravan of Central American asylum-seekers converge on the doorstep of the United States, what they won’t find are armed American troops standing guard. Instead they will see cranes installing towering panels of metal bars and troops wrapping concertina wire around barriers while military helicopters fly overhead, carrying border patrol agents to and from locations along the U.S.-Mexico border. That’s because U.S. military troops are prohibited from carrying out law enforcement duties.

The White House sent a letter to CNN narrative engineer Jim Acosta notifying him his pass granting him temporary access to the White House grounds could be suspended after a temporary restraining order runs its course:(letter in pdf)As noted the letter outlines the White House is establishing formal rules for conduct as an outcome of CNN filing a lawsuit to support the behavior of the “journalist”. Following the process for appeal, and denial therein, the White House intends permanent revocation. Thus the baseline for unacceptable conduct, and the decision for press-pass revocation, will now apply toward all

History is full of examples of what happens when illegal migration patterns are halted. We only need to look toward Tunisia, Libya and Morocco for recent examples. As the Central American migration horde begins to bottleneck within northern Mexico, it is likely President-elect Lopez-Obrador is beginning to evaluate those prior consequences. President Trump took pro-active steps to harden the U.S. border through the deployment of U.S. military, and specifically through Corps of Engineers working in concert with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol to make illegal entry into the U.S. far more difficult.

Kansas Gov. As such, I call on him to step down as county commissioner.”

Interesting interview covering multiple aspects to the change in House power. Soon to be in the minority, HPSCI Chairman Devin Nunes discusses the likely diminished investigation into DOJ/FBI corruption as a result of Rod Rosenstein and “Dirty Cops” running out the clock. One of the interesting points noted by Nunes is how Speaker Paul Ryan requested the DOJ and FBI declassify internal emails for House committee use. However, DAG Rod Rosenstein refused to provide the emails which highlighted how officials within the institution abused their authority.

It has been speculated that Mitt Romney’s Utah Senate seat could serve as a prelude to another Presidential run. In the most ambitious version of events, he could even challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 primaries, newly legitimized and augmented by his actions in the Capitol Building. This would allow moderate Republicans to reclaim their party’s mantle and unroot alt-right influences. But would Romney do it? His willingness to unequivocally challenge Trump could be seen either as a pro or con by Republicans, depending on their opinions of the sitting president.

To look back at the moment John Kerry entered US public life, addressing the Senate foreign relations committee on 22 April 1971, is to be struck by many things. There are the famous words, of course: “How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?” There is the shock of dark, Beatles-inspired hair, the distinctly British-tinged accent. Above all, there is the self-possession. Even though, as he describes it in his new book, Every Day Is Extra,

Championing the cause of the poor, Pope Francis on Sunday lamented that "the wealthy few" enjoy what, "in justice, belongs to all" and said Christians cannot remain indifferent to the growing cries of the exploited and the indigent, including migrants. Francis invited about 6,000 poor people as well as some of the volunteers who help them to the splendor of St. Peter´s Basilica where he celebrated Mass on a day the Catholic Church dedicates to the needy. Later, he sat down with 1,500 of the indigent for a lunch of lasagna, chicken, mashed potatoes and tiramisu in a Vatican auditorium.

For someone who has thrust herself on the national stage, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez sure has thin skin.
