Law enforcement still loves Jeff Sessions
Washington Examiner, by Kelly Cohen

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 9/2/2018 5:18:36 AM

Attorney General Jeff Sessions withstood another week of public attacks from President Trump, but there´s one group that´s still standing by him: law enforcement. From day one, Sessions said he intended uphold the law and back those charged with that same duty. "This is a new era. This is the Trump era," Sessions declared from the U.S.-Mexico border in April 2017. For several months now, Trump has publicly flogged Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, but Sessions is still supported by law enforcement officials around the country, whatever else Trump thinks of him.

They stand by him because he’s still on his job. If he was a guard dog he would be an old toothless chihuahua, and not a young energetic German Shepard.

While grateful to Gen. Sessions for reversing the DOJ assault on local LE during the Ovomit/Holder era, Sessions´ apparent inability to rein in the corruption at the top levels of the federal government is a deal-breaker.

If I´m wrong and he comes through with indictments and convictions of these corruptocrats in D.C., good for him. If not, his failure to uphold the rule of law for all will be an unforgivable one. Do the job or get out of the way.

My husband and I talked about what we think is going on with Jeff Sessions last night. The only thing that we can come up with is that someone has something on this man. He is now a puppet being directed by someone.

Jeff Sessions needs to be removed and replaced with someone that has the stomach to clean up the out of control government, even if it includes bringing down a prior president. No one is above the law. Also, the FISA court carries blame and should also be included in this investigation.

Sessions has done a good job on 10% of his responsibilities, and recused himself from the other 90%. Sessions will be forced to resign after the mid-terms, or he will be fired. By the way, Trump can appoint an interim AG, and Rosenstein will not become acting AG. It is ridiculous to accept the premise that POTUS cannot replace an AG not doing his job. POTUS has fired others for that reason, and the AG position is not sacrosanct.

#3 - it´s repeated often, "someone must have something on this man.´

It´s doubtful.

Sessions has led a fairly squeaky clean life. He´s been happily married to the same woman since 1969. He doesn´t drink or smoke, attends church regularly, and spends much of his free time with his grandchildren.

There isn´t so much as a syllable of scandal to be found. An honorable, admirable, likable man.

Of course they love him. Who doesn´t love a boss who leaves you alone, is rarely seen, doesn´t bother you with annoying tasks, and let´s you do your job the way you like to do it. My guess is if Sessions were guarding the chicken coop, all the chickens would be gone within an hour.

#6, Sessions may (or may not) be "squeeky clean" himself, but that doesn´t mean they don´t have something to hold over him. Perhaps a beloved family member has a dark secret, who knows, but he acts as if he is being coerced. What would a person be willing to do to keep, say, a son or grandson from being ruined by a Mueller-type assault. In fact, Sessions isn´t really *doing* anything wrong. It´s more like he is being forced to sit back and stay out of it.

There is only one explanation for why Sessions (AG Magoo) is acting the way he is.

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly referred to as the RICO Act or simply RICO, is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization.

The FBI had concerns with the intelligence community’s (IC) January 2017 assessment that the Kremlin interfered in the presidential election with the specific intent of electing President Trump over Hillary Clinton. The leading Democratic figures during Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings were presumed 2020 presidential hopefuls Kamala Harris and Cory Booker. Both grandstanded to great applause from Democratic partisans, but failed to nick the nomination. The two young guns made a lot of noise, but it was an older, wiser woman who with a single shot turned a hopeless situation for Democrats into a big potential political win. Dianne Feinstein was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1992, the original “year of the woman.” During the previous year, Clarence Thomas had been confirmed to the Supreme Court

Christine Blasey Ford´s legal team has asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to agree to certain terms before she sits down for a potential interview over her accusation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her decades ago, two sources told Fox News on Thursday night. Among the terms: Only members of the committee -- no lawyers -- can question her; Kavanaugh cannot be in the room at the time; and Kavanaugh should be questioned first, before he has the opportunity to hear Ford´s testimony. The requests, some of which appeared to be negotiable, capped a whirlwind

There’s one relevant question: Did Brett Kavanaugh do what Christine Blasey Ford says he did — or anything like it? To answer that question, the Senate Judiciary Committee has proposed the best course of action: have committee staff, not politicians, question Ford and Kavanaugh under oath, behind closed doors if Ford wishes. But Ford and Democrats don’t want such an inquiry, in part because they want to debate other questions besides Kavanaugh’s actual guilt or innocence. It’s human nature to assign blame for catastrophic events. In medieval times, witches were blamed for weather woes. Trials and burnings increased when weather got worse. In hurricane season today, many find a scapegoat in global warming. Pundits tell us “ignoring the science of climate change will hurt us” (Kristina Ball at NBC) and a Washington Post editorial declares the Trump administration complicit. It’s a familiar drumbeat, recognizable from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Sandy. For years, Al Gore and others emphasized the need to connect extreme weather to climate change to encourage carbon cuts.

There are very few things I´m sure of in the latest, and worst, chapter in the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation saga. It´s like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book in which every chapter ends with a thud at the bottom of an old well or the clanking shut of a dungeon door. What if Christine Blasey Ford is telling the truth that, 36 years ago, a drunken 17-year-old Brett Kavanaugh pushed her down on a bed and covered her mouth in an attempt to sexually assault her? For starters, she´ll never get justice. This will never see a court of law.
