And the Paul Wellstone
Memorial Award Goes To...

PJ Media, by Matt Margolis

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 9/2/2018 5:00:13 AM

I don’t mean to sound self-centered, but I hope that at my funeral, whoever delivers the eulogy will talk about me, and not their or my political enemies. It’s not much to ask, but frankly, I’d like to believe there’s more to me than the people I’ve had feuds with. Not since the Paul Wellstone funeral have I been so disgusted at the gross politicization of a memorial service. Wellstone, you might remember, was the U.S. senator who died in a plane crash in 2002 less than two weeks before the midterm elections.

McCain´s funeral was all but class. it was tacky, disgusting and entirely too long. If I had my way, it would have lasted 30 minutes, tops. President Trumps daughter and son in law had to listen to the garbage that was said about our President.

As for Aretha´s funeral, it was also tacky. I never heard of changing outfits of a dead person multiply times. Then you have entertainment, a minister with his hands all over the entertainer, and people bashing our great president.

Did not both listening to either one.

Four worthless individuals in that first photograph -
One Sunni Muslim who believes he was captured by ETs and taken up to their spaceship, who hates Whitey more than Barack does. Next to Louis X is another white hater and Korean hater, who killed people by inciting a riot. Next to him is a shameless race hustler who should be in prison for blackmailing corporations, playing the race card.
Finally,, the biggest race hustler and sexual predator of all, Dollar Bill Clinton, who has accumulated more wealth than John D. Rockefeller, tax free! And Ethics free!
Aretha was not well served by their presence.

What kind of man plans every detail of their own very elaborate, far-reaching, many-location funeral, including who should not be invited? A man overly concerned with his own ego and image, that´s who. If we didn’t already know, we now know what kind of man McCain was.

My mom died of brain cancer and it was devastating to watch her go through it. She did it gracefully and I saw her cry once and it was in the last days of her life.

I have watched and listened to John McCain since he was diagnosed and there was nothing graceful about the way he handled himself.

I could cry "life is unfair" because a senator gets all this attention but a person like my mom receives none. I don´t.

As I said in my first paragraph, she handled herself gracefully. Never once did she say, "why me" or become angry that she was ill. If I needed to cry, I did it privately but on one occasion, I couldn´t stop the tears. She turned to me and said, "it is my turn to go." She died two months later.

I think Democrats, liberals, and Never Trumpers could learn a lot from my mom. They always want the focus on themselves.

The only difference between these two funerals and one conducted for an Egyptian Pharoah is that the latter was done with far more dignity.....

I wonder how elaborate the services will be when - -

- - for instance - - Mike Enzi dies.

Hasn´t he been a senator for as long as McQueeg was?

I confess I started hearing Meghan McCain speaking on a news cast. After only a few seconds of listening to her, I turned it and any other newscasts off yesterday. Watched none of the other coverage. Also did not see any of AF´s coverage, just the picture of Peyronie Pete ogling the singer. Didn´t James Brown change outfits a few times during his burial service?

Honestly, did you´all expect anything less? This was their big moment to dump on President Donald Trump with full coverage by the media. These people have no shame ( and no love of the American people) so why would anyone think a funeral , which is supposed to be dignified ,be anything less than a combination lie about the deceased/trash President Trump gathering.

I didn´t waste my valuable time watching the McCain spectacle as I never considered him a statesman, but just another petty politician that loved being the center of attention. And two things that really showed us just how petty he could be was saying that picking Sarah Palin as his running mate was a big mistake and making sure she wasn´t invited to his funeral and also making sure president Trump wasn´t invited.

I’m surprised the McCain funeral doesn’t continue until the day after the next election. It gives all nutty leftists a chance to be on national TV and pretend they gave a rat’s butt about a Republican., the same guy they heavily denounced in 2008.

#6 Thank you for sharing your mother´s story. She died with dignity and love. McStain could never achieve that. He planned his funeral road show to stab Trump and the American people to the end. No matter the eulogies, the holy water and the lies said at the pulpit will erase what he really was in life: a traitor and a vindictive petty man full of hate knowing full well that "We the People" didn´t fall for his actions. His final judgement won´t be pretty.

When McCain gets to his Final Judgement with the Creator, he´s going to wish that he´d acted like a Christian and a true Republican during his tenure as a Senator, rather than a bitter old "reach across the aisle traitor" to his stated beliefs?

Poor McCain could have really went out in a true blaze of glory, so to speak, if he weren´t just a Phony, right up to his passing?

This was the most over done obnoxious and phony drama I have ever seen out of Washington. McCain was no saint and dying certainly didn’t make him one. He was an arrogant self righteous fool who hated Trump enough to build his own funeral around him. His daughter is talentless and obviously had to lean on Daddy’s position to get a high profile job. Hoping her career dies with him.

I hope McCain´s "esteem colleagues from across the aisle" enjoyed their spectacle with the bitter family. I liked the statement a ´funeral for an Egyptian Pharaoh´ that about sums up McCain´s never ending service.
If McCain planned all of this before he died why all the changing of locations? Who did he think he was, Lincoln?
The old Republican backstabbing vulture is gone and hope soon forgotten. Good riddance.

I am just a little surprised that whoever planned this farce got permission to so completely downplay the liturgical aspect of a traditional Episcopalian service. This affair was a disgrace.

As for the Franklin affair, it looked to me like some of the clergy actually were concerned about what was happening in church. But they were definitely in the minority.

On a positive note. President Trump is beating the Left so badly that he is living permanently in their heads and driving them mad. When you are winning so much, it´s tough to focus on the little gnats that follow you around hoping to get in a small bite. MAGA. The pettiness shown at the McCain funeral, most of it instrumented by the corpse himself, is akin to howling at the moon. It accomplishes nothing but it makes them feel better.

Let me start by posting this definition: "eu·lo·gy
´yo?ol?je/Submit
noun
a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died."

Now on to my take (glad I didn´t bother to watch either) - The LEFT should be proud that they followed alsharpton´s advice and showed typical leftist R*E*S*P*I*C*T for their heroes. I gave over twenty years service in the United States Army for my country and American citizens - PROUDLY! A "hero" is someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty to save fellow soldiers lives, NOT someone who can crash an airplane and then get fed hot meals during imprisonment simply because his Dad was an Admiral.

The left (former democrat party) is so filled with for all that is good about America that they are blinded by their hatred!

Whether I liked them or not, my thoughts for their funerals is a simply "God Bless Them and Their Families" - and May God Continue to Bless America!

I will remember John MCCain for his thumbs down at midnight that assured the continued existence of the disastrous ObamaCare.

Songbird was also nasty to Dubya at every turn, promoted the civil wars in Syria and Libya, and passed the anti-Republican McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill that, incredibly, Dubya signed. Not to forget that McCain personally handed a copy of Clinton Steele Dossier to James Comey. A small man driven by envy. MAGA.

Damage to the frontal lobe can cause increased irritability, which may include a change in mood and an inability to regulate behavior.

The McCain Family, with Cindy McCain at the helm, carried out John McCain´s wishes for this horrible spectacle - so, they are just as classless and crummy as he was, IMHO - all the trappings of wealth and they come across as hollow, trashy grifters in their total lack of class.

Regarding the late Aretha Franklin - I never heard of outfits being changed like that. Is this a new thing?

I can see an entirely new career path opening up: funeral planners!

Oh, I know the funeral homes have people who help you orchestrate a basic funeral but the Aretha Franklin funeral could signal an entirely new dimension.

Plus, you could have reality shows like the shows they have currently now with gals picking out their wedding gowns - the search for the wardrobe for the week of the funeral!

"Bridezillas" producer - call your agent!

Gruesome, I know - but I can see a movie in the making, "The Funeral Planner" and soemone WILL make it!

I remember the Wellstone affair. Desperate to hold on the the seat, the Dems got Fritz Mondale to take the seat until the election. He lost the seat. He had also lost to Reagan in a landslide, wining only DC and his home state of Minnesota. This time he completed the sweep by losing Minnesota´s senate seat.

I was no fan of McCain and admired Sarah Palin. Decided not to watch or give ear to any part of it after hearing that she was not invited to his funeral. Given that she has never publicly denigrated, criticized or demeaned him, I thought that was unnecessarily mean and cruel. If he/his family thought he lost the election because of her, they are sorely mistaken. He lost because he was a weak candidate with nothing to offer the American people. He lost me after he told his supporters not to be afraid of B/0 because he is a "family man" - completely ignoring all of the lies, deceit, radical associates, secretive behaviour and controversies surrounding his opponent. What kind of a serious candidate for anything extols the virtues (real or imagined) of an opponent and not his own??

I did not watch most of the Franklin funeral either. Thought the change of clothes was unusual. However, the family wanted the funeral services which were open to the public, to reflect her personal style. Supposedly she never performed in the same outfit twice.

Performers in the snippets that I chose to watch on the net sang many of the songs from her album "Amazing Grace." If you love black gospel music, this outstanding recording has stood the test of time.

I mean people who served with McCain that still remain. Did not hear anything good about the man from many of them over the years, but obviously, none were invited. Kerry was the token sort-of VVet.

McCain really sealed his legacy. Now, anyone that recalls this little man will think of a classless, petty, vindictive person who could have shown grace and dignity but chose neither. Sarah Palin showed more dignity and class in the one paragraph statement she made than he did in the last five years he pranced before the cameras. This man was eaten up with jealousy and self pity long before the cancer finished him off. I believe President Trump´s assessment of McCain´s character was spot on.

Churchill spent the lost years leading to World War II unsuccessfully trying to warn Britannia of the rising Nazi threat. He largely blamed Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, a squishy, slippery foresightless mccainlike member of the Conservative Party, for the locust years of the ´Thirties, specifically, 1934-September 1939, when Hitler invaded Poland, commencing a bloodbath that would claim 65,000,000 lives around the world before the atom bombs brought the cursed thing to a merciful end. It really was merciful. Had we invaded Japan directly, the toll would have been millions more Japanese and hundreds of thousands, at least, of Americans, including my father, who had already lost his eldest brother in 1944: the uncle I never knew. My grandparents never got over losing their first son, the first of three.

Anyway, after Baldwin´s death some mousy "Conservative" came to Churchill and mewled, "Oh, what shall we do without our Stanley?" The great man replied, "Embalm, cremate, bury. Take no chances."

That´s how I feel now. Not only was McCain not great...he was not even very good, a slippery, treacherous little man whose funeral, rivaling Princess Di´s and topping even JFK´s for purple ornate symbolism, lacked only an assassinated president in the box. This whole in-your-blanking-effing-face-Trump-and Trump-supporters affair managed to be in exact inverse measure to the actual importance of the honored stiff. Well this sucks. Afterlife and all.

5 years after going nuclear, Democrats
have reaped what they sowed
Washington Examiner, by Thomas Jipping    Original Article

Wednesday is the fifth anniversary of an event that is still changing the course of Senate and judicial history. On Nov. 21, 2013, Senate Democrats exercised the so-called “nuclear option” to abolish the filibusters of nominations they had pioneered a decade earlier. This is a story of how their best-laid plans went awry. Senate Democrats started planning a hostile takeover of the judicial appointment process in 2001. Just days after President George W. Bush took office, Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., said they would use “whatever means necessary” to fight his judicial nominees.

The Mad, Mad Meditations of Monsieur Macron

Almost everything French president Emmanuel Macron has said recently on the topic of foreign affairs, the United States, and nationalism and patriotism is silly. He implicitly rebukes Donald Trump for praising the idea of nationalism as a creed in which citizens of sovereign nations expect their leaders to put the interests of their fellow citizens first and those of other nations second. And while critiquing nationalism, Macron nonetheless talks and acts as though he is an insecure French chauvinist of the first order. The French president suffers from the usual dreams of some sort of European “empire” —

Washington- Forty years ago this past Sunday more than 900 men, women, and children either killed themselves or were murdered in Jonestown, Guyana. Geography buffs will note that Jonestown is just east of Venezuela, where yet another crazed left-wing experiment is being played out today, though on a much larger scale and hence the prospect of death on an even grander scale is still possible in that once prosperous country. Yet forty years ago on November 18 the deaths were not over. In San Francisco, the hometown of Jonestown’s colony of death, there were still more deaths to be carried out.

Interpol presidency vote: Russia
in surprise loss to South Korea
BBC, by Staff    Original Article

Interpol has elected South Korean Kim Jong-yang as its president, rejecting the Russian frontrunner who had been accused of abusing the international police body´s arrest warrant system. Mr Kim was chosen by Interpol´s 194 member states at a meeting of its annual congress in Dubai. He beat Russia´s Alexander Prokopchuk, who had been widely tipped to win. But there was growing concern that Mr Prokopchuk would use the role to target critics of Russia´s President Putin. Moscow said Mr Prokopchuk would continue to serve as an Interpol vice-president and help strengthen the organisation´s "position in the international police community".

Actually, even California says

President Trump’s critics are belittling him for not buying the lefty narrative that global warming is to blame for the California wildfires. Instead, Trump points to decades of mistakes by government agencies that caused the woodlands to become overly dense and blanketed with highly flammable dead wood and underbrush. He’s exactly right. Just ask California officials. Two months ago, the state legislature enacted a measure that would expedite the removal of dead trees and use “prescribed burns” to thin forests. In other words: the very same reforms that Trump is now being mocked for proposing.

The two monstrous blazes, which both ignited earlier this month, have claimed a total of 84 lives while laying waste to a total area of nearly 400 square miles, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Officials said that at least 64 of the remains have been positively identified so far. The vast majority of the deaths -- 81 total -- were due to the Camp Fire in Northern California´s Butte County, making it the deadliest and most destructive wildland fire in the state´s history.

Injured man to appeal jury´s $524G award

A California man who was injured outside a Las Vegas hotel in 2015 rolled the dice by rejecting the hotel’s $2.5 million settlement offer -- and going to trial instead, in hopes of getting more. That decision appears to have cost him about $2 million. The jury awarded only about $524,000 to plaintiff Glenn Richardson, of Carlsbad, Calif. Richardson claims he suffered head and body injuries when a temporary sign -- advertising an outdoor event -- collapsed and hit him near the pool area of the Mandalay Bay resort.

A nation riveted. Did Florida elect DeSantis their new Governor, or the anti-Semitic crook with the Hamilton tickets and the Tallahassee corruption scandal? Did Florida elect one of its finest-ever Governors, now term-limited, to the United States Senate, or did they go again for the mummy? And for those with Georgia on their minds, did Stacey Abrams finally figure out that 49 percent is less than 50 percent, or is she still working on the new math? Well, it seems for Republicans focused on those that all’s well that ends well. DeSantis is Florida Governor

The decision by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Kelly in Cable News Network v. Donald J. Trump ordering the White House to restore the press pass of reporter Jim Acosta has been hailed as a victory not only for CNN but for the entire press and the cause of journalism. But the end result of Kelly´s ruling, and of the CNN lawsuit, might not be happy for reporters and the news organizations that employ them. The transcript of the Nov. 16 court session in which Kelly delivered his oral ruling was released in group of court papers on Monday.

Members audibly gasped when James said he was abandoning his hometown team to join up with Dwyane Wade and Pat Riley of the Miami Heat —

California Gov. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that Brown is proposing one of the most significant changes to the state´s logging rules in nearly half a century. "Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing broad new changes to California’s logging rules that would allow landowners to cut larger trees and build temporary roads without obtaining a permit as a way to thin more forests across the state," the

Barack Obama trashed President Trump on Monday night while speaking about ways to mobilize Americans to bring about social change at an Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago. Arrogant Obama accused President Trump of ignoring the climate change hoax because he’s a racist with mommy issues. “The reason we don’t” invest in climate change policies, Obama said, “is because we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism…mommy issues.” The audience of drones laughed after Obama trashed Trump. Obama stuttered as he continued to talk about himself and even bragged about being called “Spock.” “I mean, we — we are

Democrat Stacey Abrams isn´t backing down from her fight against what she calls voter suppression tactics and election mismanagement after losing the Georgia governor´s race. In fact, Abrams said she experienced the problems in her state firsthand — after nearly being denied a ballot during early voting. In an interview with Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee said that when she went to vote last month, a poll worker initially told her that she had requested an absentee ballot and couldn´t cast an in-person vote. Abrams replied that she never filed for an absentee ballot, and after

For someone who has thrust herself on the national stage, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez sure has thin skin. The proud democratic socialist and newly elected congresswoman from New York has a knack for making confusing statements, or “word slips,” as she calls them, and is real quick to play the victim if anyone calls attention to them. Her latest flub occurred on Saturday when Ocasio-Cortez called for taking back “all three chambers of Congress,” before quickly correcting herself to say “all three chambers of government,” naming the presidency along with the House and Senate. “If we work our butts off to make

Peggy Noonan’s intense dislike for President Donald Trump undermines her credibility as a fair and balanced columnist: She cannot be true to her trade when she hates the objects of her pen. With the Trumps, she has lost all sense of balance. Her unwarranted attack on First Lady Melania Trump last weekend in the Wall Street Journal is plain ugly. In a column titled “Melania’s Misstep and Michelle’s Mystery,” Noonan declares her love for former first lady Michelle Obama after reading her memoir, Becoming. Noonan should know by now that every auto-biographer blows his/her own trumpet.

In a lengthy, taped interview that aired on Sunday, Fox News´s Chris Wallace asked President Donald Trump some expected questions -- about the Mueller investigation, "fake news," the election, the Kashoggi murder, his divisive tone -- and then came something unexpected. Wallace wondered if Trump would try to amend the Constitution so he could serve a third term. The exchange began when Wallace asked the president to rank himself "in the pantheon of great presidents." "There is Lincoln and Washington, there´s FDR and Reagan. Do you make the top 10?" Wallace asked Trump. "I think I´m doing a great job," Trump said. "I would
