The New York Times fails to acknowledge
the crises of public confidence

New York Post, by Michael Goodwin

Test your knowledge of current events by answering this question: Which organization remains stuck in deep cover-up mode? A) The FBI B) The Roman Catholic Church C) Both of the above D) Neither of the above If you get your news only from The New York Times, you believe the correct answer is D, neither of the above. Other people know the correct answer is C because they see the leaders of both organizations acting as if the public can’t handle the truth. It is not my intent to suggest the FBI and the Vatican are in all ways comparable.

When you live in an alternate universe, it´s difficult to get an accurate reading of this one. Since the NYT gave up most of their office space and laid off their senior propagandists one can only assume that the current new staff of brainless millenials are writing whatever it takes in an attempt to keep the doors open and save their pathetic jobs. Unless they are getting regular infusions of Soros money those doors will close before the end of President Trump´s first term.

The only question is did he do it?

There’s one relevant question: Did Brett Kavanaugh do what Christine Blasey Ford says he did — or anything like it? To answer that question, the Senate Judiciary Committee has proposed the best course of action: have committee staff, not politicians, question Ford and Kavanaugh under oath, behind closed doors if Ford wishes. But Ford and Democrats don’t want such an inquiry, in part because they want to debate other questions besides Kavanaugh’s actual guilt or innocence. You could see it Tuesday night and Wednesday when libe

Secretary of Defense Mike Pompeo on Wednesday accused John Kerry and other former Obama administration officials who have met with their counterparts in Iran in an effort to save the nuclear deal of working for their own foreign policy and “not the one that belongs to the United States.” During an interview with the Secretary of State on Wednesday night’s edition of “The Ingraham Angle,” Fox News host Laura Ingraham began with the topic of Kerry’s intervention on the Iran nuclear deal. “Secretary Kerry can’t seem to get off the stage, and you have to,” Pompeo said.

It’s human nature to assign blame for catastrophic events. In medieval times, witches were blamed for weather woes. Trials and burnings increased when weather got worse. In hurricane season today, many find a scapegoat in global warming. Pundits tell us “ignoring the science of climate change will hurt us” (Kristina Ball at NBC) and a Washington Post editorial declares the Trump administration complicit. It’s a familiar drumbeat, recognizable from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Sandy. For years, Al Gore and others emphasized the need to connect extreme weather to climate change to encourage carbon cuts.

Polygraph exam taken by Kavanaugh accuser

One day after Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., raised concerns about the polygraph test taken by Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Ford, her attorney is refusing to comment on who paid for the examination or provide additional details on how it was conducted. And experts contacted by Fox News confirmed that while polygraph examinations can be useful, they are ultimately fallible tools that "can be beaten." Without mentioning any particular instances, one former senior FBI agent said polygraphs would have difficulty detecting deception by sociopaths, psychopaths and committed liars lacking a "conscience."

While recently watching a documentary on the Smithsonian Channel about a 1987 plane crash in California purportedly caused by a deranged passenger, I realized a profound shift had occurred in my accepted wisdom, my “worldview.” During its investigation of the crash, the FBI allegedly found a vital piece of evidence at the scene, which led to them identifying a suspect behind the crash. It dawned on me that I doubted the veracity of both the evidence the FBI supposedly found and of the documentary itself. Then I realized that my doubt was purely a result of everything

There are very few things I´m sure of in the latest, and worst, chapter in the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation saga. It´s like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book in which every chapter ends with a thud at the bottom of an old well or the clanking shut of a dungeon door. What if Christine Blasey Ford is telling the truth that, 36 years ago, a drunken 17-year-old Brett Kavanaugh pushed her down on a bed and covered her mouth in an attempt to sexually assault her? For starters, she´ll never get justice. This will never see a court of law.

Christine Blasey Ford Must Agree to Testify

When Americans went to bed last night, the path forward in the Brett Kavanaugh nomination battle seemed set. On Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee — and the nation — would have an opportunity to watch Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford testify, under oath, about Ford’s claim that Kavanaugh brutally assaulted her at a high-school party in the early 1980s. Crucially, both Kavanaugh and Ford would be subject to no-doubt-tough cross-examination.(Snip)Indeed, there was even an indication that her attorney was attempting to impose “serious conditions” on her testimony. Leading congressional Democrats are looking to stall the process to release documents related to the Russia investigation, which President Donald Trump ordered declassified on Monday. Reps. Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff and Sens. Chuck Schumer and Mark Warner, sent a letter Tuesday asking Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to provide an “immediate briefing” to the Gang of Eight before declassifying and releasing the documents. The four Democrats expressed “profound alarm” at Trump’s order to declassify the records. Trump ordered the Justice Department and Office of the Director of National Intelligence

Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s treatment of a more than 3-decade-old sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was unfair all around. It was unfair to Kavanaugh, unfair to his accuser and unfair to Feinstein’s colleagues — Democrats and Republicans alike — on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Feinstein, a California Democrat, took the worst possible course by waiting until almost a week after Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing was completed to ominously announce that she had turned over “information from an individual” about Kavanaugh to the FBI, and adding that she would be honoring the woman’s “strongly requested” confidentiality.

Even if he is completely innocent of the charge that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl at a high-school party 35 years ago, he will be forever considered guilty of it by some portion of the public. A nation gawks as Washington sinks deeper into the muck, but put aside your disgust long enough to digest what we’re seeing. Three big things are on display. First, Democrats are proving again that their force multiplier is a win-or-die zealotry. They were on a mission to kill anybody President Trump chose to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and, within minutes of Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer announced he would fight Kavanaugh “with everything I have.” All 10 Dems on the Judiciary Committee pledged to vote no.
