Turks are smashing their
iPhones to protest Trump

CBS News, by Tucker Reals

Turks are taking sledgehammers, handguns and fire to iPhones in a symbolic backing of their government as it clashes with the Trump administration over a jailed American pastor. Videos showing Turkish citizens stomping on or otherwise destroying iPhones have proliferated online in recent days, following President Recep Tayyip Erdogan´s call for Turks to boycott U.S. products -- specifically the smartphones made by California tech giant Apple. Erdogan issued the call and announced a massive hike in tariffs on U.S. goods this week after the U.S. raised tariffs on Turkish imports and aimed new sanctions at Turkish officials in the row over

Comments:
Turks may have a worse case of TDS than the progressives here. I, for one, can´t wait for the millenials and other snowflakes to start destroying their iPhones to protest Trump. Let´s all buy Apple stock since we know they will not be able to live an hour without a new one.

I bet the Turks are not smashing "their" iphones, maybe someone else´s. The Turks put on a show for CBS. I wonder if they threw their arms in the air. That is always a good photo op.

What they are trying to do is create enough outrage at this pastor to ensure that he will not be released. It’s not about the phones. It’s about ginning up hate against this American pastor. Anger is the emotion that is easily manipulated by the Turkish government for whatever narrative they wish to create and right now, they want their people outraged at the American government for demanding the release of this pastor. Hopefully, the President can put enough pressure on Erdogan to make him see that the release of this American in is Turkey’s best interest. Thankfully, this President has taken an interest in Americans held by hostile governments and is making the point that holding Americans as hostages will not go well for them.

They got the idea from the GOP which shoots itself in the foot, gets a wire bottle brush, rolls it in margarita salt then reams out the foot hole, trying to convince conservatives they´re really smart. BUT, the GOP´s been doing it since 1995. The Turks have a long way to go to catch up.

Kind of like shooting themselves in the foot, as iPhones are expensive. Once the situation changes after the Trukish Government decides to release the American Pastor, and if those Turks want to get back in the modern era, they will most likely have to purchase expensive new iPhones.

Look, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office sucks. It screwed up in 2000, got caught breaking the law by deleting ballots in 2016, and is in full-scale chaos right now. Oft-embattled Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes says she has no idea how many provisional and absentee ballots are left to be counted in her office. But as it stands, there is zero evidence that the Democratic Party is, in any way, trying to "steal" this election from Republicans. That sort of rhetoric erodes the public´s (admittedly low) trust in the validity of American elections.

CHICAGO — To read the worshipful press coverage you’d never know that, for Democrats, the unthinkable has happened: Michelle Obama has revealed herself as just another guru for sale. On Tuesday night, the former first lady kicked off her 10-city North American book tour, which more closely resembled a cult-of-personality-propaganda-rally, at the United Center in Chicago. (Dates have been added in London, where scalped tickets are going for over $90,000 each, and Paris.) A sliver of the 20,000 seats available for the Chicago event were priced at $29.50, and those sold out within five minutes of going on sale in September.
