Well, I believe that L.com is far more than a web site. In the days of the American Revolution, papers circulated spreading the message of liberty and the concept of how a nation of free people could survive. To me L.com is the 21st-century equivalent of those papers. I will not be surprised to see this site go down in history as part of what saves America at the turn of this dangerous century.
I first discovered you at the time of the '00 election when I can't imagine needing this more (except perhaps during 9-11). A thousand thanks for a brilliant political education!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. It must feel wonderful to know that you have touched and brought so much pleasure to so many lives. I feel priviledged to count myself among this group of people, who have become a part of my family over these past years. Bless all of you, and I encourage all l.dotters to take the time and contribute to this website like I do, so that it continues for another 400 years!

From the black, late hours of the Slimy Administration through the Gonzales enslavement through the attempted coup by the man formerly known as Tree through the unethical takeover of the Senate caused by Jumpin' Jerk, through the Toricelli switcheroo and the Wellstone Memorial Bund Rally, and all throughout the more than a year long worldwide Saddam butt smooch festival, whenever I felt that either the whole world was wrong or I was insane, or both, I've known that I could come here and vent. But much more than that, I could find people as intelligent as I was (many more intelligent); worldly, knowedgeable, sharp, funny, and caustic powerplants of truth and reason. I could share my mirth, misery, outrage and sense of cosmic justice with those who saw what I saw and unerstood. For all this and so much more, I thank everyone involved in this...state of mind.
And for our beloved benefactress, Congratulations! In the words of one of my favorite philosophers, Hobbes: Muchos Smooches, Lucianne!

When it's all said and done,L.com will make the history books. It will be one of the main sites credited with the information revolution that changed the face of American politics. At a crucial time in American history, no less. I believe, without you and a handful of other sites, Algore would have prevailed.
Thank you Lucianne and staff. You've saved the world. You also saved me from anger management, as my wife suggested in '98.

A short story: After being banned from this site a little while ago for a silly prank, I wrote an E-mail to Ms. Lucianne expressing my apologies. A little while later, I received an E-mail from Ms. Sheehan reinstating me as a poster on this website.
This is only one of MANY examples I have seen of Ldotter graciousness and courtesy. The people on this site reflect the habits of those at the top.
Any favorite Lcom moments? I have two:
1.) January 20, 2001 - front page read "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
2.) Ldot Christmas party in 2001 - a very funny essay regarding the virtual get-together was posted on the site. Igor was mixing drinks while a line of people waited patiently to use the Bill and Hill dartboard.
By the way, steph_gray, I have thought about the similarity between this site and the revolutionary networks and newspapers many time. This website is the embodiment of an aroused citizenry.

Thank you for saving my sanity during the 2000 presidential recount, Florida Supreme Court fiasco and the night that Gore took back his concession to Bush. I honestly think Lucianne and her posters saved me from an extremely deep depression! My face was white as a sheet for days. People I barely knew were worried about me. Some of your posters said they ended up in the hospital and I felt better.

The most memorable moments for me was the 2000 election. The Lucianne site was a beacon of hope in political process gone awry.

You are the most wonderful people alive. You make what we do here a labor of love. If this site is your life, trust us, it is ours as well. We are reading these threads with smiles and tears.
We have some rough times ahead - all of us - we must, absolutely must hang together as never before. Everything we believe in is about to be proven. It won't be easy but we have each other and a President, thank God, who knows who he is and what is right. Hang in, stay close, fear nothing, we shall prevail.
Eagles Up! You are in our prayers.

I vote KCStan as honorary Site Pest Emeritus. Though we usually disagree, I admire your persistence, gracious good manners and well thought out (though slightly flawed) statements. God bless you.
Lucianne, Amy, Igor, et al: This site is more of an outreach than a website. I credit my time here for taking me from a casual Republican to an informed, rabid member of the VRWC.
God bless us, one and all, as we step into uncertain times. Remember to pray for our troops and God bless America.

Thank you for providing a place to expand our minds with the news of the day and with the views and comments of the many wonderful regular posters. Their eloquence shames me into the role of a quip-and-run poster. Perhaps some day I can reach their level.

Lucianne, I had been lurking for months thinking all these smart people were too snappy and witty and fast and knowledgeable. But somewhere along the way (probably on a WRT) I jumped in and haven't looked back. So many other sites seem tired and dull compared to all my friends and teachers and mentors on Ldotcom. Thank you Lucianne and Igor and Amy (especially Amy - she has bailed me out of not a few stupid mistakes) and StaffMouser and even Mrs Thatcher, because a critter keeps people sane. As the Brits would say we must ''keep our peckers up'' because we have some wild times coming. But we all can know that here we have friends and sanity and sanctuary. Thanks again Lucianne.

This place keeps me grounded as well as informed. It's so nice to know I am not alone in thanking God for living in the best place in the world and in being so proud of our president. Terrorists have tried to throw us a curve ball, but we will hit them out of the park and win back our security. Keep our ship steady Mr. President and fellow Ldotters.

Dear Ms. Lucianne,
It's so nice to hear from you! All of us owe you a debt of gratitude for providing a forum where dissenters from Leftism could gather and discuss the issues of the day. I live in a fairly conservative state, but there are many others in more liberal parts of the nation who must view this site as pretty much their only lifeline to sanity. Every day, I am charmed, amused, and inspired by the thoughts of Ldotters as conveyed in their insightful posts. Their thoughtfulness impresses me, their cogency of delivery makes me think, and their righteous anger when events warrant it is always a refreshing balm. Some conservatives have written off their fellow Americans as hopeless, but this site proves that wellsprings of character still run in our national soul. America counts for something still. Our national story continues. And Ldotters, along with like-minded citizens, are busy leading the parade.

Well, since someone opened the can of spam, and asked the favorite moments question, here are mine:
On the serious side: Election night 2002. I think that I wore out a keyboard that night. Also, for the gracious posts supporting CISM following 9/11. For those of us in the business of helping the helpers, it's nice to be appreciated.
On the lighter side: The "WWJD (What Would Jesus Drive)" thread. A classic for all time, as the second poster simply stated 'a one iron'. Anyone who has ever played golf probably spilled their drink on their keyboard, as I did.

Many blessings and thank you's to the inimitable Ms. Goldberg and her incredibly hard-working staff, and my fellow Ldotters, as well. You all are amazing and have become an everyday part of my life.
I shall not forget one stunning night in November of 2000 when the Ldot family came together with the headline of one simple word: PRAY. I could just feel our hearts and minds moving together through that event and the tragedies to come.
Lucianne, you have given us a place to call home in cyberspace and hold fast to each other as we face the unknown. May love, courage, strength and faith bring us all to peace.

Happy Anniversary
But be careful you don't spill it
Happy Anniversary
Ooooo Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary

Haaappy Anniversary
Happy she and happy he
They're both as happy as can be
Celebrating merrily
their happy anniversary
Ooooo Happy Anniversary

Haaappy Anniversary
We now state emphatically
its happy anniversary
