LDotter Virtual Open House
Posted By:LComStaff, 12/31/2003 10:21:00 PM

LDotter Invitation: All registered Ldotters are invited to drop in to the Lucianne.com Virtual Open House here beginning Christmas Day. Take a break from the cooking, the kids, the relatives and/or the guests who won't leave and join your like-minded cyber colleagues for a random chat as we relax our steadfast 'no-chatting' rule. Whether it's a recipe or a rant, relax and join us. Lucianne will host, Ldot staffers will drift in and out, Igor's band will entertain and unlike most parties, everyone will pay attention when you 'speak.' The virtual champagne is on us. The virtual food is whatever you bring - we spent your donations on bandwidth.

Merry Christmas! (and, no, we don't mean Happy Holidays - we mean MERRY CHRISTMAS)...there, we said it.

-Lucianne, Amy, Igor, Oblio, your anonymous, ever-vigilant staff and Baroness Margaret Thatcher, the official LCom Cat.

Merry Christmas to everyone. A big thank you to Lucianne and the staff.

I'm cheating a bit, since I'm out in CA and it's not yet midnight, but I've got a long night of wrapping gifts ahead of me.

Just finished watching "Holiday Inn" and have "It's a Wonderful Life" to go.

I pray for a peaceful Christmas for our troops.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I stayed up just so I could post early. Like Saguni, I'll be back in the morning after I have my baking started... Save me some Spam, Igor.

This year I feel more than ever as if l.com is a virtual family, since I'm single again and can use the party. :-) Think Santa could bring me a non-leftist even though I live in the People's State of MA?

And from the almost popular and nearly adored Mamamoose, from the sunkist land of the sidewinder and the gila monster,
comes the traditional greeting.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

and we hope Sidney Clause is good to all of you this year.

If I was clever, or smart even, this would have been posted in festive colors. Just visualize it, blinking and flashing, wiggling and waving, a masterpiece of html. Beautiful, no?

Merry Christmas from freshly powdered North Central Ohio!

Thank you, Lucianne and Staff and LDotters for my #1 source of news and commentary!

Am I allowed to keep listening to and singing with "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" by Perry Como and the Fontaine Sisters, well into the New Year?

Other happy favorites: "Christmas Cookies" by George Strait and The Judd's version of "Walking in a Winter Wonderland."

S'pose I'd better finish up wrapping gifts, now.

We have a just barely White Christmas here on the North Shore of Chicago, and will spend a leasurely day with our children on Jesus's Birthday. This is from one of my favorite Christmas songs:

"A ray of hope flickers in the sky

A tiny star lights up way up high

All across the land dawns a brand new morn

This comes to pass when a child is born."

Merry Christmas, everybody.

Reply 21 - Posted by: JER, 12/25/2003 12:18:38 AM

It's Christmas already - and I've been standing out by the curb waiting for the pink caddy to come by and give me a ride.

What happened? Has it been in storage so long that Thomcat couldn't get it started? Or does it only do the southern swing and doesn't come up north.

Guess I'm going to have to walk to the party.

Bummer...

Well, since I'm obviously going to be late -
I'll just go ahead and wish everyone in the Ldot family a very Merry Christmas right now.

Merry Christmas to all of my fellow L-Dotters. I pray that this upcoming year will be especially joyful to y'all and your loved ones, and even the site pests. May you all find truth very soon. It seems that last year people posted recipes for food quite a bit. I can't cook, so here is a recipe for a good martini, courtesy of those enamored with the one and only James Bond. I raise a glass, say Cheers to all L-Dotters, and tell all of you, that, despite his problems, our President is quite special. Merry Christmas!!!!

JER, I don't know where that car is, or even if Thomcat is sober enough to drive, but I couldn't fly the Oreck due to the terror alert being elevated. Said something to the effect that the silhouette we make is too astonishing and wierd to be allowed during a Number 4. Hummmmmpfh sez I and offered to get out the corn broom but was told bluntly that only one was allowed and that slot was filled by a PIAPS and that she had rank over me! Not likely, sez I, but if looks count, then I could accept that she is way uglier than me. So I drove.
I drover the Geezermobile. I got a new one. Mashed part of the right front bumper trying to get off the taxiway at
Skyharbor. There was some kinda trouble with some french airplanes, or maybe they were just french looking.

Mamamoose just surfed by. I always meant to ask her, and this is the appropriate forum to do so, why she didn't tape off those Channel 17 Update Early In The Morning episodes from the late 1970s that we "cableheads" used to stay up and watch (no matter HOW late it was on) because they were so darn funny?!???!?

Reply 39 - Posted by: Muncsdad, 12/25/2003 12:49:07 AM

Merry Christmas dear friends at Lucianne.com. Thanks for helping make 2003 a better year for us. We're counting on all our Ldot buddies to get us through the coming election year.
It's time for Santa to come and set out the presents. The Santa who comes to our house doesn't wrap any presents. He just sets things out so the children can see everything when they come into the room. Wonder if we took a survey how many people wrap Santa versus just putting presents under the tree. Certainly easier for Santa to spread out unwrapped presents and then drink his Coke and eat his cookie before leaving.
God bless all of you, our troops overseas, and our wonderful country. SantaMunc

Probably because I don't know how to do it, Gern. My computer rig never has all the accessories working at the same time. Big Moose is the tech man and I am being neglected since he set up fancy rig in the Moose Cave. The funniest program on earth was News Early in the Morning. Did'nt ever know for sure when but it was worth the lost sleep. I whined to Big Moose about this rig fixing just this morning. I will follow up tomorrow. Maybe he will educate me so I can tape them I still have them in Favs.

Mamamoose, the pink caddy has been ''in waiting'' for such a long time. It needs new tires, and some windshield washer solution, a good dusting off, and it'll be ready to roll! (Better check the radiator, too, just in case.)

I am packed and ready, and I'll be waiting on the corner with my portable ice chest (full of Mango Tango's) as soon as y'all let me know when you'll be arriving. (Anybody sign up to bring the port-a-potty, yet?)

Where's pomom and Lawsy0? ( I'll bet they're still up celebrating Christmas without us.) And, Thomcat is probably takin' a nap. Earlybird will be starting her day soon, (she likes to be the first to get the worm) and MFCB is probably still pourin' a few. And, Goatessa will be out milkin' dem goats at the crack of dawn.

Com'mon, y'all! Let's get this show on the road!

The last time everybody took a Caddie ride, yotty got left behind at a service station somewhere. S'pose she's still there? Seems to me it was raining. And 'Pie was jealous cause it never rains in Arizona anymore and the beetles got the trees so she needed more Mango Tangos and.... well....you know how those things go.

I still have packages to wrap to carry to #1 son's tomorrow (CA time) but they'll have to wait til morning. Not every day you get to take a Caddie ride.......that one tire sure looks spongey, though....

Reply 49 - Posted by: Gern Blanston, 12/25/2003 1:16:38 AM

Mamamoose, Channel 17 Update Early In The Morning will probably be available soon on DVD, according to Bill Tush dot com. Anyway...hilarity awaits; that was the best ad-libbed show of the late 1970s, SCTV could not have done it better, and...Merry Christmas!!

Reply 50 - Posted by: barbill4, 12/25/2003 1:17:44 AM

'Pie, those two miscreants, Lawsy and Pom, are out in the Big Easy in realtime
GAMBLING and DRINKIN' and carousing HARD. They will pobably come rolling in here about dawn, all sorry eyed. They had an awful bunch of quarters when they started out. High rollers, them two.
I drove on over here in the Geezer, but if the official car gets running and has an official driver, we can hook the Geezer on to it and store the musical instruments and porta potty in there.
We can go round up the stragglers and look for terrorists along the way. I'm gonna have to take an old woman nap now but I'll just go find my air bed that I leave here and plug in the pump. Convenient. Ah, here it is. Goodnight, and try to keep it down a little, will ya?

Merry Christmas fellow Ldotters. I thought I'd share this nice little Christmas gift. Tonight, instead of going to my regular church for midnight Mass, I decided to go to an early evening Mass at a church in a small town not far from here. It was a nice Christmasy service and at the end, the priest was thanking the musicians, altar servers, lectors, etc. Then, he also thanked a young soldier, home on leave from Iraq, who was at the Mass with his parents. The young man couldn't have been much more than 20 years old. The priest asked him to stand and the congregation applauded, but when the young man sat back down, he looked up to see the congregation beginning to stand, one by one, still applauding, until the entire room was standing. The young man blushed and his beaming mother wrapped her arm around him and hugged his neck. When the service was over, this humble soldier had trouble leaving the church for all the people stopping to shake his hand and say ''thank you''.

For all those celebrating Christmas, a favorite from my younger days. In 1941, Winston Churchill came to America shortly after Pearl Harbor. He particpated in the lighting ceremony of the National Christmas Tree, and made a short address. Some excerpts:

"...I spend this anniversary and festival far from my country, far from my family, and yet I cannot truthfully say that I feel far from home. Whether it be the ties of blood on my mother's side, or the friendships I have developed here over many years of active life, or the commanding sentiment of comradeship in the common cause of great peoples who speak the same language, who kneel at the same altars and, to a very large extent, pursue the same ideals; I cannot feel myself a stranger here in the center and at the summit of the United States...

"fellow soldiers in the cause, this is a strange Christmas Eve. Almost the whole world is locked in deadly struggle. Armed with the most terrible weapons which science can devise, the nations advance upon each other..."

(To be concluded)

"...Ill would it be for us this Christmastide if we were not sure that no greed for the lands or wealth of any other people, no vulgar ambitions, no morbid lust for material gain at the expense of others had led us to the field. Ill would it be for us if that were so...here, amid all these tumults, we have tonight the peace of the spirit in each cottage home and in every generous heart. Therefore we may cast aside, for this night at least, the cares and dangers which beset us and make for the children an evening of happiness in a world of storm...

Let the children have their night of fun and laughter, let the gifts of Father Christmas delight their play. Let us grown-ups share to the full in their unstinted pleasures before we turn again to the stern tasks and the formidable years that lie before us, resolved that by our sacrifice and daring these same children shall not be robbed of their inheritance or denied their right to live in a free and decent world.

And so, in God's mercy, a happy Christmas to you all."

To which I can add only: Here, here.

Well, something I've ALWAYS wanted to do on Christmas eve... (yeah, right)...

...recaulk around the bath tub. Meant to do it earlier but just now remembered :-/ It's 10:45pm here... maybe I can get it done in the next 15 minutes. The masking tape is already done, so it shouldn't take long.

Keep right on with the party... I'll see y'all later, aligator :-)

Is that Oblio, over there on the Baby Grand, playing Silent Night? Listen, everyone. It's very quiet. But, if you listen carefully, you will hear it.

Silent Night,
Holy Night,
All is calm,
All is bright......

As Ms Lucianne hangs out in Santa Fe, the City Different (ain't that the truth), occasionally, I thought I'd send along some luminarias (farolitos) to light the way just as L.Com lights the way to unfettered truth. Merry Christmas to one and all.

And, yotty, if you have a couple barrels of rain water to spare........... we could use it. But, be careful, gurl.

Merry Christmas to ALL of you. Even motp, KStan and loucon. You guys keep us on our toes.

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Health New Year to everyone!

Thanks again to Lucianne, Amy, and the gang for giving up this fabulous place in cyberspace.

“WHo knows what this country would be like if Algore had been elected instead.”

I’m still awake. It’s dawned on me lately that, if Gore had been President & had appointed to his cabinet some Dems as moderate as his VP Lieberman—& maybe kept the DoD chief Republican—the Administration would have been torn apart by ultimately public disagreement about what to do about places like Iraq. Prez vs. VP, cabinet resignations, etc. And Republicans across the country would have been up in arms. The nation would have been in political turmoil & worse. Meanwhile Gore would be chanting a mantra against the divisions, “this is letting the terrorists win!” As for the terrorists themselves—for now, I don’t want to think about it.

Instead, we have the A-Team. Calmness, competence, & resolve in charge.

I found this several years ago:

(sung to God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen)

''The restroom door said 'Gentlemen'
So I just walked inside
I took two steps and realized
I'd been taken for a ride
I heard high voices, turned, and found
The place was occupied
By two nuns, three old ladies, and a nurse.
What could be worse
Than two nuns, three old ladies, and a nurse?

''The restroom door said 'Gentlemen'
It must have been a gag
As soon as I walked in there, I ran into some old hag
She sprayed me with a can of mace
And smacked me with her bag.
I could tell this just wouldn't be my day.
What can I say?
It just wasn't turning out to be my day.

''The restroom door said 'Gentlemen'
And I would like to find
The crummy little creep who had the nerve to switch the sign
'Cause I've got two black eyes
And one high heel up my behind!
Now I can't sit with comfort and joy
Boy, oh, Boy
No, I'll never sit with comfort and joy''

Good. In that case, a most Merry Christmas to Grandma Lucianne, the Queen of the Internet, and to her territic staff, and to all our LDotters, from the Monterey Peninsula. You make me laugh, cry, sometimes say bad words, and most often, feel at home.

And a very special joyous Christmas to my fellow Californians. Together we put the Big Austrian in the statehouse, and gave some GOP punch to the West Coast scene!

Most of all, Holiday Blessings upon our great President and his lovely Laura, and to our troops - who give the full measure of their very selves to protect us all.

Merry Christmas to you too, ForNow!

I'm almost done with the wrapping! I keep thinking about our troops over there. My husband, a veteran, got a Christmas email from a dear Army buddy who reminded him of a firefight they were in together on Christmas Eve years ago in Panama. He said he had been deployed so many times during Christmas that it became like every other day. Then he said, "That's why it is so important to keep Christmas every day of the year."

God bless our troops.

Merry Christmas and thank you, dear Lucianne, Amy, Igor, Oblio, anonymous, ever-vigilant staff and Baroness Margaret Thatcher, the official LCom Cat. Was feeling a little disconnected and out-of-sorts because I lost my beloved baby brother on Saturday (he was my baby even though he was 56 years old). In these silent early morning hours of Christmas day, like a lonely dove seeking the sheltering boughs of a winter pine tree, my soul sought out the welcoming, tender solace of this site. When I saw that beautiful picture of 'Our Men of the Year' and the accompanying poem; the beautiful posts of #56RUserious and #75applepie; the joyous good news of #80Slartibartfast and all of the other posts, I felt so blessed to be able to visit with all of you wonderful, dear, generous, gentle-hearted, precious people. You have all lightened the burden of my heart. I thank you all and wish each of you, 'Merry Christmas' and blessed, memorable times spent with all of those dear to you.

I'm bringing chocolate fondue to the party with bananas and strawberries and marshmellows and dried apricots for dipping. Melts in your mouth......yummy.

I'm so grateful for this ''site of sanity'' in a delirious world. Tonight we read Luke 2 and then prayed for those families and soldiers with loved ones far away - or never to return.

These are the golden years.

Christmas has been very strange for me this year. On Monday I was released from the hospital following a very painful gall bladder removal operation -- 25 steel staples to close me up. The worst was missing a week of Lucianne and my Ldotter buds. A few of you knew of my operation and had sent the kindest and most wonderful messages of prayer and support. You will never know just how much you all mean to this old man. Maybe I'll be around for another Christmas without being gutted. May God Bless you all as much as He has blessed me.

''Shepards and wise men
Will kneel and adore Him
Seraphim, 'round Him, their vigil will keep
Nations proclaim Him their Lord and their Savior
But Mary will hold Him,
And sing Him to sleep

''Find Him at Bethlehem
Laid in a manger
Christ, our Redeemer, asleep in the hay
Godhead, Incarnate, and hope for salvation,
A child with His mother that first Christmas day.''

O love beyond all telling,
That led Thee to embrace,
In love all love excelling,

We received the most wonderful Christmas present yesterday! We received notice of my wife's final appointment with BCIS, in early January, for her American naturalization. I can't stop crying for joy. We are flying out of Izmir to the USA tomorrow to be there for the appointment.

Near mid-day here in Baghdad.

Please remember that across this great nation of Iraq, people you don't know and will never meet are extremely grateful for the gifts the U.S. has given them: freedom, liberation from a cruel tyrant and hope for the future.

Our own nation can stand strong and do the right thing, only so long as righteous people like L-Dotters stand up, speak out, and give backbone to our politicians. Doing nothing lets evil flourish.

A recent lunchtime companion a couple of times has been an elderly female judge whose husband and brother met terrible ends in Saddam's acid vats. Across the local national workforce, every family has similar tales of the horror that was visited on this nation, and for years no one in the "civilized" world gave a damn!!

Working with the Iraqis, we're rebuilding this nation for its rightful owners. Failure is not an option. Merry Christmas and Essayons!

Road Apple, I think I will be going through something similar in the near future, and God Bless you, hope you have a full recovery.

We are thankful also to the VA Hospital that restored my eyesight last year, and confirmed my recovery this year.

Veterans, I forgot all about my benefits until I lost my eyesight and was shopping for a doctor. (Sound familiar?) My father told my brother that the VA would probably take care of the problem. DUH!! I went to the VA, and now I can see 20/20 whenst before I could not. If you are a Veteran, don't forget the VA. We have locally the Loma Linda Medical Center; Jerry L. And please wish my family luck, for they soon will have to tolerate me as I recover from hip-replacement-revision surgery on December 30. You all have been truly magnificent sources of truth and hope, during my sometimes-lonely existence as an anti-Democrat in NYC, the world capital of America-hate and Bush-haters.

Much love to all of my precious cyber-buddies, a MERRY, HEALTHY, HAPPY AND SAFE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR!

I just stepped over Enkeli to say Merry Christmas (adorable, all curled up down there with the cat) from a rainy, rather warm Bush-Hating, Hillary Loving New York City. Without Lcom we couldn't survive here.
There would be no safe haven, no place to find comfort and wisdom. Thanks Ldotters for being here, thanks staff and Lucianne for the safety net.

Well, this will be my only chance to drop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I expect to be on the road later today, and won't get to be online much over the next few days. I miss this place when I don't have a chance to log on. Like so many others, I really appreciate this forum and all (well, MOST) of the people here. Thanks especially to Miss Lucianne and the staff, Amy, Igor, Oblio, and everyone.
Christmas blessings to all!

Reply 145 - Posted by: T-Bubba, 12/25/2003 6:32:38 AM

And please, gentle Ldotters, send me prayers today, as I will be spending a few moments standing at the WTC crater, visiting the spirits of lost NYPD and FDNY heroes, acquaintances and former students of mine who perished on that sunny September morning.

Just a few steps from my in-laws' apartment downtown, I always make the vigil a part of my family visits. The short vigils give me a grounding as to the realities of this wonderful but dangerous world, and strengthen my ability to endure the infantile drool coming from my idiot sister-in-law and her bedwetting, commie husband.

Merry Christmas

My Christmas prayer Father God is that you protect our brothers and sisters in the armed services around the world. I thank you Lord for giving us one of the greatest leaders the world has ever seen to guide us through this time of turmoil. God, Bless George W. Bush and Miss Laura.

Lord, I thank you for each and every L.dotter in the family. It is a joy to read their posts and to gain insight from their wisdom.

Father, I pray that you will reveal yourself to those who do not have a personal relationship with you. Draw them to you and let them see the Love of Jesus Christ this Christmas Season.

Most of all Father, Thank You for sending your Son to us as we set aside this day to celebrate his birth. I thank you that you have chosen me to be your son and have given salvation to me and my family as your word said you would.

Happy Birthday Jesus

That champagne shall go down nicely with a little OJ - Thank you, Lucianne. I brought a platter of breakfast burritos made according to my secret recipe (darn hard to find decent Mexican food in NYC). The Bronx cats have all settled underneath bits of wrapping paper that have started to litter the floor here, so watch your feet in that conga line!

To all L-dotters, the merriest greetings and wishes for you from the Bronx. Special thanks to our hostess with the mostest.

Merry and Blessed CHRISTmas to all and sundry. My dear friend Moses sent me the following:
Borscht is reddish
Manischevitz is bluish
Merry Christmas from somebody Jewish

I wish him and all Jews a belated Happy Hannukkah. In its' myriad of spellings.

I'm on the road in a few moments to Sacramento to sprinkle gifts and hugs and kisses all over the grandkids.

May the Almighty God richly bless GWB and staff, Lucianne and Staff, Jonah and friends, Ann Coulter, Rich Galen, and all other Truthtellers.
May His richest blessings fall all over the troops and their commanders.

BTW, if the caddie is swinging by the Pacific Northwest (mad cow country), could you stop by here in Vancouver? I promise to leave the burgers at home. It's almost 4 a.m. here and I finally finished the wrapping, pumpkin pie and cranberry salad, so really need to catch a few winks. Want to be bright-eyed for the party. Igor, please save a dance for me, if you will. I'm a bit out of practice, but hope you'll be able to tolerate. (Are those shoes steel-toed?) Merry Christmas, all! Javagal :-)

Thanks Lucianne and staff, we appreciate you.

This Christmas in America

As we gather with our families in celebration this December
Our minds still wander back to a Tuesday in September
When we learned what was important on a day that changed our lives
To take time to cherish, sons and daughters, husbands, wives
We pray as we approach this Holy Christmas season
We will not forget Jesus’ Birthday is the reason
For over 20 centuries His story has been told
On that silent night in Bethlehem, this story’s never old
God sent us the greatest Gift from His home above
In this gift He has shown us the purest form of love
Because God sent His Son, we know He understands
How we feel as we send ours to fight in foreign lands
In the sky long ago He placed a star to give direction
We pray He will watch over and give His safe protection
To our brave sons and daughters, until they are safely with us
We pray for the gift of peace for this and every Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas All!
This site is a safe-house for reason, humor and dignity! Thank God for all of you!

If anyone is into contemporary Christian Music, my group, "PraZ" (pronounced praise), has had our first CD released this week. It's local distribution only at the moment, but our producer, Al (www.starboundproductions.com), is going to help us with wider distribution. For any St. Louis folks, there's a fair chance that we'll be the band for Christian Family Day at Busch Stadium this summer. Unfortunately, our new web site isn't functional yet. The old one is http://praz_music.tripod.com/praz/
Our CD's will be available on our new site when up. They are $12 with $3 shipping when needed. Until then, you can email Mike through our old site or me at princepiperappears@yahoo.com if you'd like one.
Oh, there's a song called "Eagle's Gift" on it about how the U.S., and our ability to free the oppressed poeples of the world, is a gift form God. I had to write one to tweak the Libs a bit!
God Bless to All,
slipknot (aka Kevin)

Now, listen, 'pie and the rest of you rabid females, HANDS OFF MY GOVERNOR! We don't want any scandals stickin' to him, especially since I think I spy Peter Deutsch and El Reno following behind us. Just say hello, shake his hand, and NO tushie pinching!

Can you hear him hollerin' out the window? He's wishing all of the Ldotters a Merry (and blessed) Christmas, Happy (and holy) Hanukah and a questionable Ramalamakwanzaadong to all!

By the way, I had a great Christmas party last night, but had to use the darn AIR CONDITIONER! Are the rest of you having unseasonably warm weather too?

Every Christmas, my husband asks me what I want for a gift and I ALWAYS tell him, ''As long as I have you, I have my Christmas gift.''

He thinks it's corny and probably sweet, but it's the truth as we spent way too many holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and whatever days apart while he served his 20 in the Air Force.

To those who serve now: thank you. Your dedication, service, and devotion are appreciated more than you will ever know.

To those who wait for those who serve: hang tough because better, sweeter days are coming.

Merry Christmas from soggy San Diego. Thanks Lucianne for the virtual Christmas party. A chance for all of us to get reacquainted.
Thanks #26 for the link to "A Christmas Story" which has now become my favorite Holiday movie. I watch it every year. It has everything in it that stirs up the old memories of 1940's Massachusetts. I so wanted a two wheel bike. I would dream about it and could visualize myself riding it. But, alas, it was not meant to be. Santa was too poor in post WWII times. We were grateful for the practical gifts of new mittens, scarf, and hat. I remember how much I loved my new ball point pen. I spent all Christmas vacation writing everything I could think of just to use my new pen. Imagine our own paper dolls with clothes even. No more cutting paper dolls from the Sears Catalogue. My sister and I spent most of Christmas vacation designing clothes for them with just plain paper and crayons. Thanks for the memories.

The grandkids have examined the bounty left by Santa and we’re loading up the car now to go visit their great-grandparents a couple of hours west of Dallas. Gran and Granddad will be 80 this year, so we don’t pass up any time we can spend with them.

I had to take the time, though, to drop in and thank you all (and especially Miss Lucianne) for the ongoing gift of stimulating discourse I’ve enjoyed this year.

I can’t read or post from the office, but you’re my first stop when I power up the PC upon arriving home each evening. Always being the latecomer, I don’t post much. By the time I arrive each evening there are so many brilliant posts mine would usually be insignificant. But I can’t pass up reading threads.

I nod in agreement, laugh out loud and on occasion slap palm to forehead. You folks provide something sorely missing in most communities… thoughtful, reasonable discussion.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas!
