Hurry up and wait.
Know When To Hold 'Em, Know When To Fold 'Em:
If W is the poker player people say he is, today's the day to push the chair
back from the table, square his Stetson on his head and walk. Game over. You
can search the board this morning and not find more solid advice than that
in Charles Krauthammer's column. Pray W takes it.
Yo Mama!!! In a dubious salute to motherhood, the Air Force
dropped their MOAB boomer in a test yesterday that had cable news stations
asking for locals to call in and describe the experience of living near such
a massive explosion. Some folks did but with reports that seemed to
disappoint anchors. Most said, "Yeah, the house shook for a second," or
"Sounded like a sonic boom from a jet." Oh well. Guess you had to be there.
Saddam will be.
Back Off: When the left has nothing else to write about they take a shot at
Tom Ridge, colored alerts, the whole Home Security effort and yet they were
the first to start shrieking hysterically about buying gas masks and getting
Cipro shots. One can search the nation and find few who would want Ridge's
thankless job. All things considered, we think he's doing fine.
This Village Voice article is typical of their juvenile mindset.
Don't read it.
Helen Thomas, Jr.: We seldom comment on the columns Maureen Dowd produces to earn a living but today's is so totally over the top it is time for her
to be institutionalized. This drivel is a discredit to what could and should
be a great newspaper. She has now gone way beyond political commentary and
wanders, muttering, in the groves of the psychotic.
The Little Story That....Will: A story posted here yesterday from the
Whittier (CA) Daily News should be carefully watched. It could be the sparks
that sets of the flames of rage as the country divides itself into those who
have forgotten and those who have not. It concerns a group of no-neck
peaceniks who tore up a memorial tribute to the victims of 9/11. The local
(La Habra) police refused to arrest them on - get this - "free speech
grounds."
Here is the original story:
And here is the follow up. Like our Mama said: From little acorns do mighty oaks grow.
