Quote of the day:

"If you're watching, I think you're doing a hell of a job. I'm proud you're my president. ...I think there are a lot more people out here on your side than you may think."

Short Cuts

With Dan in the Desert: Pretty much the same material is in other publications but Jason Gay's column in today's New York Observer on Dan's big interview with the Butcher of Baghdad has the most detail. When Saddam asked Rather why his producer Jim Murphy had been silent throughout their long session Rather replied, "He's a deaf mute." Rather reports that everybody laughed.

Gone-A-Hue: Phil Donahue's show died some time ago but yesterday it was declared officially dead as of Friday. We suggest the final blow (or suck) as the case may be, came from the appearance of Rosie O'Donnell. Here's the transcript of this love-fest. It does remind those of us with somewhat rural upbringings of the occasional necessity for an ice-cold bucket of water around a barnyard. How ironic that his time will now be taken by MSNBC's extended coverage of the war.

Jail House Rock: In the publicity build up to Baba Waba's sit-down with the pathetic Robert Blake - ABC released a statement by Blake that when he shook Walter's hand it was the first time in a year that he had touched a woman. No word from Barbara on how long it had been since she touched a man. One does wonder if there's anyone left who really cares about this little creep. If you do, the interview is on ABC's 20/20 tonight.

White Knuckles On The Slippery Slope: Rap music stars have held a "summit" meeting to discuss their "state of emergency." While that sounds like their drug dealer didn't show up, what was really bugging them was Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly has taken up where Tipper Gore (remember her?) and Lynn Cheney left off but this time he's doing it right. On last night's show he signaled another campaign that we could take a real interest in. Going after Ramsey Clark and charging him with treason. We don't know precisely how that would work but we'll leave it to Bill.

Gratitude: Your LComStaff wants to thank those of you who responded to our notice yesterday that you visit geoffreykeyeslawsuits.com and email us any information you may have. We received some very helpful tips and are following up on them. Several of you asked if this concerned Linda Tripp who was a patient of this doctor. The answer is 'no' but it does concern another woman who was permanently injured and is seeking redress.
