Do the peacenik marchers remember this?

Deja Phooey:  Hans Blix returned to Baghdad this weekend and the Iraqis had a surprise for him. They admitted that, oops, they had found four more chemical warheads and - golly gee - they were going to go right out and look for more - you betcha. How much more of this happy horse hockey does the world have to take?

Come Ona My House: Donald Rumsfeld is being really, nice about it all - so are Condi and Colin. All three stayed on message yesterday as they did the Sunday talk show rounds. If Saddam would simply "throw in the towel" he and the wife, the kiddies, his favorite camel, four thousands tons of gold - whatever - could slip out of the country and live the good life somewhere else. There would be no war crimes trial, no punishment and maybe even a nice fruit basket next Ramadan. File this in the "Not Happening" file but at least they made the offer.

Useful Idiots Report: Don't you love taking political advice from Jessica Lange? Tyne Daly? They showed up for ten seconds at the "Peace" Rally on Saturday, screamed something unAmerican into the wind and disappeared no doubt back to the cozy confines of the Ritz-Carlton. One wonders if they have a clue as to whom they are hanging with. Ldotter amereagle provides a list of the sponsors on this thread. Quite an eye-opener.

Dumb and Dumber: Now comes another Hollywood foreign policy expert - George Clooney. He just told Charlie Rose that the government is run like the Sopranos and cites "Bush's deals with Russian and France" which he apparently considers on par with chopping up Ralphie.

LDotter Note: The East coast Ldot staff will gather at the noon hour today around a roasted and clove studded haunch of Spam to celebrate the driver's license birthday of our youngest staffer - Michael. This is perhaps the proudest day in a young man's life. The open road beckons and freedom awaits. Happy Birthday, Mike, from all of us here in the freezing east. We wish you could be with us but we know you don't do Spam. Thanks for your help and a big in unison "Vroom, Vroom" from us all.
