A number of masked men, including one carrying a suspected firearm have hijacked a bus in Northern Ireland, police have said. The police service for Northern Ireland tweeted: ´Police are currently in attendance after a bus was set on fire in the Westwinds estate this evening. ´At around 7.30pm it was reported that a number of masked men, one carrying a suspected firearm, hijacked the bus in Blenheim Drive before setting it on fire.´ It comes amid warnings from police that the UVF had threatened to orchestrate ´serious disorder´ in east Belfast on Wednesday night. PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd said he

There´s a serious wall separating the Catholic and Protestant areas of Belfast. The gates in the wall close at 6 p.m. and stay closed all night. There are plenty of hard feelings on both sides. July 12th is the night protestants light bonfires to celebrate the victory of William of Orange in the Battle of the Boyne that secured the protestant ascendancy in Ireland for generations.

Tony Blair! Call your office. The UVF was once a paramilitary force but nowadays is something between the mafia and Mexican drug cartel - with an Irish brogue, of course.

With England so unstable and the Moo-slims having all the terrorist fun, it makes sense to resurrect the IRA.

Something reminiscent of "September 1913"? Again? You don´t need a course in Irish history to understand Yeats´s poem. Read the whole four stanza poem. You´ll get a navigable roadmap into the Irish violence of one hundred five years ago.

Last stanza:

"Yet could we turn the years again,
And call those exiles as they were
In all their loneliness and pain,
You’d cry, ‘Some woman’s yellow hair
Has maddened every mother’s son’:
They weighed so lightly what they gave.
But let them be, they’re dead and gone,
They’re with O’Leary in the grave."

(Emphasis added.) If you love poetry and the highest use of the English language, you should have a volume of Yeats nearby.

President Donald Trump sat side-by-side with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki Monday, declaring ´great opportunities´ between the two nations at a time of extreme tension between the nuclear powers. ´It´s great to be with you,´ Trump told Putin at the start of a planned 90-minute meeting. The greeting came just days after the Justice Department announced the indictments of a dozen Russian spies accused of hacking the presidential election. ´Frankly we have not been getting along very well for the latest couple of years,´ Trump said. ´It´s getting close to two years,´ Trump said. He said he and Putin would discuss trade,

British firms trading with Iran could be slapped with punitive sanctions within weeks after Donald Trump rebuffed their pleas for exemptions. The US President pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal - which eased sanctions on Tehran in return for a stop to their nuclear programme - earlier this year. The EU had lobbied the White House to exempt European companies from the hefty levies, which are set to be put on firms trading in the Middle East country. But American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US rejected the appeal because it wants to exert the maximum pressure possible on Iran. Britain

The Russian foreign ministry “liked” Trump’s comments on Twitter ahead of the summit, in which Trump denounced the investigation into Russian meddling in American elections as well as previous U.S. policy. “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!” wrote Trump. The two leaders were due to start their summit in

Later they kissed and made up. But before that, at that NATO summit in Brussels, President Trump let them know who’s boss. No more rolling over…and while he was respectful to the Queen, and contrary to the habits of his predecessor, he did not bow. He focused on Angela Merkel, since she represents them all. He schooled her for double-dealing – that pipeline to Russia that puts Germany at the mercy of Putin who can turn off the energy spigot any time he wants, and then who ya gonna call? The United States, of course, which will have to come to the

Prince Charles and Prince William reportedly ‘snubbed’ the US President during his visit to Britain - leaving the Queen to meet Donald Trump alone at Windsor Castle. The royal father and son apparently shared their desire to not take part in the arrangements during informal discussions regarding the president’s four-day tour. Trump’s trip was not a state visit and so only the Queen greeted the president and his wife Melania. However even on working trips dignitaries expect to see more members of the royal family than only the Queen. When deciding which royals to include in the meeting, senior courtiers shared concerns about

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is going into the Supreme Court confirmation process with a hail of rhetorical arrows zinging by him, including a phony letter-writing campaign aimed at unsuspecting American newspaper editors. At least 21 papers were duped last week, including big-market brands like the Dallas Morning News and The Washington Times. They ran identical letters over a four-day period, each signed by a different person. The effort is an example of public-relations ´astroturfing,´ a technique meant to simulate genuine grassroots support for an idea or cause. The man who co-wrote “The Art of the Deal” said Sunday he believes President Trump’s faculties are diminishing — and that he feels obligated to sound the alarm. “We are in a true emergency,” Tony Schwartz said on CNN Sunday. “And the accelerated rate at which his breakdown or decompensation is occurring is cause for us, and certainly for me, to come on to TV more often, to tweet more often.” Schwartz told CNN’s Brian Stelter that he felt comfortable making that assessment because he had “spent an enormous time with [Trump] over a period of 18 months.”(snip)Stelter pointed out that Schwartz
