One of the biggest challenges in the immigration debate today is that the American people are routinely given faulty "facts" or outright lies by the media and opportunistic politicians. The media-manufactured crisis over separating children from their illegal alien parents at the southern border is just the most recent example. The misrepresented photos, absurd comparisons of detention centers to concentration camps, and nonstop cable news demagoguery have served to confuse the public and advance the narrative of the open borders movement. Now comes a whopper: much of what the American public has been told about birthright citizenship is wrong. The

Based on two Supreme Court decisions (Wong Kim Ark and Wilkins v. Elk), 14th Amendment citizenship excludes the children of both illegal aliens (who do not have permission to be in the country) and tourists.

Leftist lawyers always tout reliance on legal precedents. Looks like they exist. Who will bring the first case?

The recent story of the lady who flew here from Africa to have her quadruplet anchor babies and stay in the NICU for months on the US taxpayer dime put me over the edge.

The Constitution does not say any person born here is a citizen. The 14th Amendment says "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

An illegal alien or a temporary visitor on a tourist visa is not necessarily "subject to the jurisdiction thereof."

The law can thus easily be changed to exclude children of illegals and people on tourist visas.

The childish rantings of the left concerning the border crisis fool nobody but the emotion does serve to rile up the uneducated masses who can not see that even the United States can not afford to feed, clothe and educate these opportunists. Build the wall, return all illegals to their country of origin WITH their children and then we´ll talk. The Lefty Loons are soon going to discover that the attention they have drawn to this manufactured crisis is going to work against them.

I don’t think it is time to reimagine the issue. I think the law resending that ridiculous idea should go through the House of Representatives , the Senate, and be signed by the President in a single day.

The US immigrations bureaucracy has been a morass of corruption and incompetence for decades. Name changes have done nothing to clean the mess up. Becoming a legal immigrant costs a great deal of money, lawyers, fees, and knowing the right people. It can take years. I’ve known many, holders of legitimate green cards, who have undergone horrendous ordeals by abusive officials. No wonder some will sneak past the fence. The Mexicans who’ve done roofing, yard work, and other work for me have been honest and as hard-working as anybody could ask. The Brit engineer, the South African surgeon, the Zimbabwean landscaper, the Iranian professor, all have paid their way to be here, and make my country a better place. Each has horror stories of our esteemed immigrations thugs.

It´s all about the free ride. It´s time to decide once and for all. Taxpayers aren´t opposed to immigration, they are opposed to paying for everybody and everything, just like NATO today.
