"I also have a dream." This rallying cry, handwritten on a simple white placard held up by an Asian-American mom at a protest this week against liberal New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio´s plan to radically transform New York City´s public schools, says it all. A new civil rights struggle in education has exploded — yet the national media and the usual celebrity voices for equality and justice are nowhere to be found. While student "Dreamers" here illegally from south of the border garner bleeding-heart front-page stories and nightly news dispatches, the high-achieving sons and daughters of legal immigrants from Asia

There´s only one reasonable way to divide students if we MUST keep supporting the public school system. Have the students take admission tests just like college students do and admit them to levels of High Achievers, Above Average, Average and Unmotivated. Let the skin colors fall where they may. We are making a serious mistake with our human resources and wasting tons of money by holding students to the lowest common denominator.

The idea is to combine rotting fruit and good fruit because the good fruit will fix the mixture.

Somehow the bureaucratic "magic" will also improve the very worst by altering the best.

Forgive the awkward phasing; you might ask how this strategy would improve horse races.

NY is not the first such battleground over the high achiever children of immigrant Asian tiger moms. It will not be last. Quotas limiting Asian students have already been enacted for some universities in California. But I especially smiled at Malkin´s note that Asian immigrants are now personally reaping the consequences of their prior political behavior. What goes around......

When I was in school in NY, you had to take an admission test to get into HS, that test was waived if you were a student that routinely scored in the 80´s & 9o´s in overall proficiency. However, for the specialized HS´s you had to show excellence in their particular advanced studies i.e., math, art, science and all applicants took their admissions test.

Whoever changed that did nothing for the underachievers nor anything for those left out discriminately. One fellow in my class scored high for one such school but was wait-listed for a year before transferring. The voters ought to "throw the bums out."

The dullards can only advance by scrapping all standards. Another step toward the world described by Kurt Vonnegut in "Harrison Bergeron."

Supreme Court says warrant necessary for

The US Supreme Court has ruled in favor of digital privacy. In a 5-4 decision on Friday the justices said that police need warrants to gather phone location data as evidence for trials. That reversed and remanded a decision by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Carpenter v. United States is the first case about phone location data that the Supreme Court has ruled on. That makes it a landmark decision regarding how law enforcement agencies can use technology as they build cases. The court heard arguments in the case on Nov. 29. The dispute dates back to a 2011 robbery in Detroit,

You know President Trump´s visit to Duluth this week was important because CNN and MSNBC failed to cover the event live. Trump is about to do to 2018 what he did to 2016. Donald Trump learnt the political game quickly. Applying the skills he honed as negotiator and a celebrity to his new occupation, he rewrote the rules on campaigning, which allowed him to spend half as much money to win 10 more states than his Democratic opponent. A key to this was Republican Get Out The Vote efforts. Reince Priebus did an outstanding job and Scott Walker´s ability to deliver Wisconsin

The American national told police she had been ordered to get out of a taxi, after her friend vomited. She was then seen on CCTV with her companion in the company of two men at 3 am in

Report: Cities Across Country Use Zoning
Codes to Create ‘Gun-Store-Free Zones’

Cities and townships are using zoning restrictions to create “gun-store-free zones” around the country. This includes over 20 such zones in California alone. According to the Trace, a gun control journalism outlet, such use of zoning codes allows cities to “effectively ban firearm stores” in lieu of Congressional refusal to pass more gun laws. Piscataway, New Jersey, is one of the latest townships to adopt this approach. They have no federally licensed firearms dealers in their township, and the towncCouncil hopes to use a zoning resolution to keep any licensed dealers from setting up shop in the future. Many people in the crowd carried signs bearing Nielsen’s likeness, captioned: “CHILD SNATCHER.”

Rasmussen: Parents To Blame For

According to a new Rasmussen poll, a majority of Americans blame illegal immigrant parents for the child crisis on the border over the U.S. government. The media has put a hyper focus on the separation of families at the border over the last several weeks, leading President Donald Trump to sign an executive order ending the separation. Current U.S. law does not allow families to be detained together if the parents are referred for prosecution for illegal border crossing. However, the Rasmussen poll shows that Americans don’t blame the Trump administration for the approximately 2,000 children who have been separated from their

President Donald Trump´s embattled personal attorney, Michael Cohen, retweeted a photo of himself with comedian Tom Arnold — who happens to be working on a show with Vice that features him hunting for unflattering video of Trump. Arnold told NBC News early Friday that Cohen ? who is under investigation by federal prosecutors ? talked to him for the show, which is expected to air later this year. "We’ve been on the other side of the table and now we’re on the same side," said Arnold, an outspoken Trump critic. "It’s on! I hope he [Trump] sees the picture of me and Michael

Sarah Sanders was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant with her family on Friday night because the manager did not want to serve her following the backlash over Trump´s child migrant separation policy, it has been claimed. Jaike Foley-Schultz, a server at the Red Hen in Lexington, said the White House Press Secretary lasted just two minutes in the restaurant until his boss asked her to leave. ´I just served Sarah Huckabee Sanders for a total of 2 minutes before my owner kicked her out along with 7 of her other family members,´ he posted on Facebook.

Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen. John McCain’s former staff director and chief counsel on the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee, Henry Kerner, urged top IRS officials, including then-director of exempt organizations Lois Lerner, to “audit so many that it becomes financially ruinous.” Kerner was appointed by President Trump as Special Counsel for the United States Office of Special Counsel. The explosive exchange was contained in notes taken by IRS employees at an April 30, 2013, meeting between Kerner, Lerner, and other high-ranking IRS officials. Just ten days following the meeting, former

The Minnesota Vikings made history on Thursday. Vikings players, coaches and members of the LGBTQ community came together for a first of its kind inclusion summit held by an NFL team. The LGBTQ summit and fundraising event was held at the TCO Performance Center Auditorium in Eagan. It centered around bridging the gap between the LGBTQ community and sports. (snip) Kluwe´s hope is that the NFL and other sports leagues take notice, and it sparks conversations leading to more acceptance of the LGBTQ community in the athletic world.

Melania Trump made quite the sartorial statement on Thursday when she donned a jacket with the words, ´I REALLY DON´T CARE, DO U?´ written across the back while boarding a plane to visit immigrant children being held at the border in Texas. The 48-year-old first lady was pictured arriving at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland wearing the $39 khaki design from Zara, before boarding her plane to fly to Texas. She removed the offending jacket, which bore the controversial phrase in white graffiti-style writing across the entire back section, before disembarking the plane upon her arrival. Taxes: Whatever you think about the issue of taxing internet sales, the simple fact is that the Supreme Court has just guaranteed that people across the country will now be paying more in state taxes. It´s hard for us to see how this is good news. In its 5-4 decision on South Dakota v. Wayfair, the court overturned two previous rulings that prevented states from taxing sales of out-of-state companies. That meant a catalog company based in Maine didn´t have to navigate 45 state sales-tax laws to figure out how much each customer owed, and then remit that money to the

How´s this for sneaky? Sen. John McCain, not too long after seeking conservative and Republican votes in his failed 2008 bid for the presidency, went right after those same conservative voters without telling them, by egging on the IRS to ruin them. It´s the sort of political back-stabbing that defies belief, taking an active role in destroying the Tea Party, which was an authentic grassroots movement of local groups calling for smaller government. But sure enough, Judicial Watch has found McCain´s central role right there in the documents: Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen.

Former Fox News contributor George Will says voters must punish Republican “poodles” during the midterm elections to “quarantine” the president. An op-ed in Friday’s Washington Post by the long-time political pundit and conservative calls for voters to end the “carnage of Republican misrule” in Washington. Mr. Will claimed the “most telegenic example” of a need to oust Republicans exists with the administration’s “zero tolerance” policy regarding illegal immigrants along the U.S. southern border. “The Republican-controlled Congress, which waited for Trump to undo by unilateral decree the border folly they could have prevented by actually legislating, is an advertisement for the unimportance of
