WASHINGTON - The top Democrat on the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee said on Tuesday he would support President Donald Trump´s nominee to be CIA director, Gina Haspel, all but ensuring her confirmation as the first woman to lead the spy agency. Senator Mark Warner said it had been a "difficult decision," but cited Haspel´s 33-year career and support from the CIA workforce and intelligence veterans. (Snip) At least four other Democrats, all up for re-election in states Trump won in 2016, also support Haspel. Democratic Senators Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Bill Nelson of Florida announced their backing on

That renegade maverick McDummy thought he was going to be Trumps nemesis again. Sorry bud. Four of your brethren is your true party smelled the coffee and the roses and did the right thing for the country. Something you might consider doing before you become one with the cosmos.

I would like to see her answer to Rand Pauls letter before confirmation. Was she aware of CIA spying on Trump?

I would love to be a fly on the wall when he is told she´s confirmed...though I still think he is not the one putting out all these statements and he´s essentially a vegetable, with no thought process left at all...but just in case, though, I want to see him (or his controllers) froth at the mouth with anger when this little plan backfires...

#4, That seems like a reasonable and very important question to be answered by the nominee. I hope someone insists that she answer it.

I´m not impressed by ANY of those stinking Rats that voted for her. They were up for reelection and were only covering their own sorry butts.

Should they get reelected, you can bet they´ll go right back into ´Attack Mode´ as ordered by that scum Schumer. It´s what´s they do.

#4, I´d like to put that question on the table for Haspel to answer under oath as well. And who were the CIA players involved, if she knows factually.

Georgia Democrats selected the first black woman to be a major party nominee for governor in the United States on Tuesday, choosing Stacey Abrams, a liberal former state house leader, who will test just how much the state’s traditionally conservative politics are shifting. By defeating Stacey Evans, also a former state legislator, Ms. Abrams also became Georgia’s first black nominee for governor, a prize that has eluded earlier generations of African-American candidates in the state. The general election is sure to draw intense national attention as Georgia voters determine whether a black woman can win in the Deep South, a

A gay man seeking to challenge GOP county clerk Kim Davis in Kentucky lost his bid for the Democratic nomination to run against her, three years after she denied him a marriage license. David Ermold, who bid for the Democratic nomination in the primary race on Tuesday in Rowan County, Kentucky, lost despite raising out-raising fellow Democratic candidate Elwood Caudill by at least $200,000. Caudill will now face Davis, the Associated Press reports. Ermold, his now-husband and several other gay couples were denied marriage licenses by Davis in 2015, following a landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized

An MS-13 member who goes by the gang name “Animal” received a 40-year prison sentence this week for a conspiracy that included the murder of a 15-year-old boy, the U.S. attorney’s office in Massachusetts said Tuesday. The nickname, which the prosecutors highlighted in the headline of a press release, is particularly telling, coming just a week after President Trump called members of the violent, immigrant-fueled MS-13 gang “animals.” Joel Martinez, 23, admitted he murdered the 15-year-old as part of his initiation as a “homeboy” in Mara Salvatrucha, the gang’s full name. “I stabbed the culero three times,” Mr. Martinez

Kennedy retirement rumors
shift into overdrive

Like clockwork, Washington has whipped itself into a frenzy over rumors of a possible retirement on the Supreme Court. All eyes are on Justice Anthony Kennedy, 81, who reportedly considered calling it quits last spring. As the court’s current term winds to a close, speculation about his plans has again swept the capital, with court watchers searching for clues. (Snip) But Ian Samuel, a Climenko fellow and lecturer on law at Harvard Law School, who clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia, said the small number of cases the court has granted could signal Kennedy is throwing in the towel.

California is poised to become the first state in the nation to offer full health coverage to undocumented adults even as the Trump administration intensifies its crackdown by separating families at the border. (Snip) But at a time when Trump is already attempting to re-energize state Republican voters — he met with California conservatives at the White House last week to strategize against the state’s sanctuary policies — the initiative might be risky. For starters, it will be costly: The annual price tag to expand Medicaid benefits to poor adult immigrants without legal status is projected at $3 billion annually.

Starbucks will allow people to sit in its cafes and use its bathrooms - even if they don´t buy anything. The new policy, announced on Saturday, comes five weeks after two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia store after one asked to use the bathroom before he had made a purchase. Donte Robinson and his friend Rashon Nelson, both 23, had been waiting for a potential business partner to discuss real estate development when one of the men asked to use the bathroom and was knocked back. Minutes after the pair had sat down at the coffee shop, the manager called the police and had Robinson and Nelson arrested.

After about thirteen years of being a loyal customer of Netflix, the time has come for me to say goodbye. (Snip) Given that I’m a conservative, one might be inclined to believe my choice to leave Netflix is predicated upon the company’s most recent decision to partner with Barack and Michelle Obama’s new company, called “Higher Ground Productions,” to produce loads of new content. And in a way, I guess that’s correct. But this choice by Netflix has not alone led me to this decision. Rather, this was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back -- the latest in a series of indicators that the network has become little more than a

Republican lawmakers had been demanding DOJ release the classified documents for months. “The only thing more outrageous than this meeting occurring at all is the fact that it’s now partisan,” the New York Democrat said. “It is crystal clear that Chairman Nunes’ intent is to interfere with the investigation, and Speaker Ryan is allowing it to

MSNBC´s Rachel Maddow read a short excerpt from the book, available now, ahead of an interview with Clapper Tuesday night. "As a private citizen, I had no doubt they influence at least some voters. NFL club owners are considering potential 15-yard penalties for kneeling during the national anthem among ways of coping with a backlash over player protests, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday. According to a story on the magazine´s website, owners set aside three hours to talk about the anthem issue, which President Donald Trump elevated into a major controversy last year. Ideas to handle players kneeling during the anthem included allowing home teams to decide if players should be out of the locker room during the pre-game playing of The Star-Spangled Banner or not.If players are on the sideline, then 15-yard
