Vatican City — Pope Francis says he has thought about when it might be time to “take leave” of his flock. Francis made the comment during his morning homily Tuesday; the Vatican didn’t release the full text. Francis was reflecting on St. Paul discerning when to leave his flock in the care of others, a decision Francis said all bishops must make. He said: “When I read this, I think about myself, because I’m a bishop and I’ll have to take my leave.” Francis has said retired Pope Benedict XVI “opened a door” to future popes by resigning. While the 81-year-old pope

He needs to consider how much more damage he can do to the church, and assess who might replace him (George Soros? The ghost of Karl Marx?).

Maybe, just maybe I´ll be a happy Catholic again.

I would hope that he did it as soon as possible. But, fellow Catholics, even as he may leave, Pope Francis has put some of his liberation theology Jesuits (Cardinals) in the Hierarchy of the Church. They need to be replaced, as well, which will make the next Pope needing to be a strong conservative to bring back the direction we should be going in their teachings.

Perhaps the College of Cardinals, in the selection of the next pope, should use polygraphs on candidates, to eliminate the homosexual pedophiles from consideration.

Does this mean Pope Benedict gets his throne back then? Because if not, Francis needs to just go ahead and move Avignon (or perhaps Beijing would make more sense) and get the schism over with already. Three living popes... good grief.

Until Francis was chosen to succeed Benedict, most people assumed the prophecy referred to by #19 (which predicted the last pope, and called him ´the black pope´) was a straightforward reference to skin color.

Some noted, though, that Jesuits (like Francis) traditionally wear black dalmatics, versus the white dalmatic worn by Dominicans that has been the traditional papal garment for ages. So many suggested that ´the black pope´ was Francis.

Perhaps the conclave to select a successor to Francis might choose one of the leading Cardinals from Africa, such as Cardinal Francis Arinze or Cardinal Robert Sarah. Maybe ´the black pope´ referred to skin color, after all?

Or maybe it was just a red herring, and the last pope will neither have black skin nor dress in black.

Far from ground zero in the Trump administration´s crackdown on illegal immigration along the southern border, US Customs and Border Protection checkpoints on highways in Maine and New Hampshire are catching the eye of civil liberties groups. On Interstate 95 near the remote northern Maine town of Lincoln this week, the Border Patrol said it made nine drug seizures and two arrests for immigration violations during an 11-hour checkpoint operation in which agents asked motorists about their place of birth and citizenship status. Italy is seeking to have seven boats carrying roughly 1,000 migrants needing rescue off Libya taken back to North Africa, according to a Spanish aid group. The grieving family of a Bronx teen murdered in a horrific case of mistaken identity last week still hasn’t heard a peep from Mayor de Blasio or Police Commissioner James O’Neill, the mom told The Post on Sunday. “I have not heard from them. No one in their offices contacted me,” said Leandra Feliz, 48 — as she left home Sunday to make funeral arrangements for her 15-year-old son, Lesandro Guzman-Feliz. Guzman-Feliz — a member of the NYPD’s Explorers youth program who dreamed of becoming a cop — was dragged from a Bronx bodega Wednesday night and mercilessly hacked to death with

Sorry, we murdered the wrong guy.
