Former Treasury Official:
Iran’s Economic Benefit from
Nuclear Deal Exaggerated

WASHINGTON -- Iran has not freed up $100 billion in frozen assets as expected under the 2015 nuclear deal and the country’s economic frustrations are now playing out in the streets of Tehran, a former Treasury official told Congress on Wednesday. “This windfall that many predicted has not come to Iran,” Treasury’s former acting undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam Szubin, who served under Bush, Obama and briefly Trump, told the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “There never were $100 billion, $150 billion in assets. That’s a make-believe number. Iran’s true benefit from the deal was significant, but it was nowhere

Did you notice Szubin says $100 to $150 Billion is a "make-believe" number, but yet he never tells us what the actual number is. Maybe it was more than $150 Billion maybe is was less, but if he purports to know why not just tell the American People he worked for what the "real number" actually is...Or is he just peddling more make believe BS....

The $.100 billion number is real, but he´s right: it never made its way to the Iranian people. Its now in the coffers of Iranian officials and the terrorists they support. I suspect millions of if got laundered and found its way into the pockets of Obama and his gang as well

We need to mass produce heavy duty "Deep State Detectors". While in most cases the general purpose "BS Detector" works just fine, some of the SOBs are somewhat clever.

100, 150 or 25, a boatload of cash was fraudulently delivered to Iran by a non-American criminal POTUS. Cash, being what it is, can be split many ways and nobody knows except those who do the splitting. Obama doesn´t take all of those lavish vacations and send a kid to Harvard out of the proceeds of his lousy books.

In March, Attorney General Sessions wrote to three Republican congressman, declining to appoint a special counsel in the matter of the FBI, CIA, Obama administration and... and... frankly, I don´t know what to call it, since there is so much from the Clinton Foundation to the emails to the FISA court to who knows what.... because, the AG said, a special counsel necessitated "extraordinary circumstances." I sympathized somewhat with Sessions at the time. Special counsels do not have the best track records. Often they are appointed for dubious politicized reasons. In the Valerie Plame case, a special counsel put Scooter Libby

On Monday, Reuters/Ipsos announced that the Democratic Party´s strong lead on the generic ballot question, which had remained stable for most of 2018, had rapidly collapsed over the prior week. The #BlueWave narrative -- the media´s all-but-concluded assumption that Democrats would retake the House of Representatives from the GOP in November -- has largely been based on the state of the generic ballot poll. So you might assume the media tasked with covering the 2018 midterm elections would immediately react to a sudden shift in the most important metric available for predicting the most important outcome of those

Among the real-life Norwegian phenomena made gentle fun of in the 2012-14 Netflix series Lilyhammer, starring Steven Van Zandt as a New York mobster who has moved to Norway under the Witness Protection Program, were natteravnene -- the “night ravens,” groups of unarmed citizen volunteers, including little old ladies, who patrol the night streets to talk wayward youths out of breaking the law. The concept is a quaint one, originating in a time when virtually all crimes committed in the middle of the Norwegian night were petty misdemeanors and when the perpetrators were Norwegian kids who, if confronted on the

One of the worst features of both wind and solar energy is that they are terrible for the environment. Land-based wind turbines are bad enough, but offshore installations are a fiasco waiting to happen. Steve Goreham writes at Watts Up With That? "Several eastern US states are planning major investments in offshore wind. Wind turbines are touted as clean, green, and economically sound. But experience from around the world shows that offshore wind systems are both expensive and at high risk for early system degradation. Saturday was Jacob Kosinski´s big day. His whole family, many from out of town, saw the Charleston, South Carolina, student graduate from his Christian-based homeschool program with a 4.79 grade point average and the coveted honor of summa cum laude. His mother, Cara Koscinski organized a graduation party for her 18-year-old son. For the occasion, she ordered a cake online from her nearest grocery store, Publix, which lets customers build their own cakes complete with a customized inscription, which they enter into a little message box. European companies are leaving the Islamic Republic of Iran in droves fearing U.S. sanctions after President Donald Trump’s decided to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal earlier this month. The regime in Tehran is “particularly concerned by the decisions of various European companies to halt their Iranian operations until the future of sanctions was clear,” several German newspapers reported on Monday. “The cascade of decisions by EU companies to end their activities in Iran makes things much more complicated,” Iranian Foreign Minister said. The statement comes days after the French oil company Total pulled

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Saturday, New York Times bestselling author Eric Metaxas explained how mainstream media outlets are destroying themselves in their viciousness and hatred of President Donald Trump. "I can no longer take The New York Times or CNN seriously, because it´s a steady drum-beat. CNN has gone mad, I´ve never seen anything like it," Metaxas told PJ Media. "The only time they´re not criticizing Trump is on some of the commericals." After about thirteen years of being a loyal customer of Netflix, the time has come for me to say goodbye. (Snip) Given that I’m a conservative, one might be inclined to believe my choice to leave Netflix is predicated upon the company’s most recent decision to partner with Barack and Michelle Obama’s new company, called “Higher Ground Productions,” to produce loads of new content. And in a way, I guess that’s correct. But this choice by Netflix has not alone led me to this decision. Rather, this was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back -- the latest in a series of indicators that the network has become little more than a

Former FBI Director James Comey defended the FBI’s use of confidential sources Wednesday following a series of tweets from President Trump about “spygate.” He also warned that attacks on and lies about the bureau and its work will cause “lasting damage” to the country. “Facts matter. The FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources (the actual term) is tightly regulated and essential to protecting the country. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer fumed Tuesday over the Trump administration´s "outrageous" decision to exclude Democrats from an upcoming meeting in which Justice Department officials will give House Republicans documents related to the FBI´s investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Republican lawmakers had been demanding DOJ release the classified documents for months. “The only thing more outrageous than this meeting occurring at all is the fact that it’s now partisan,” the New York Democrat said. “It is crystal clear that Chairman Nunes’ intent is to interfere with the investigation, and Speaker Ryan is allowing it to

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday urged Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI officials to "simply say no" to President Trump´s demand for an expanded investigation into his claims of FBI wrongdoing as it relates to his campaign. "More DOJ norms being eroded. Trump-a SUBJECT of the investigation-wants access to material related to the inquiry," Holder tweeted. (Snip) His latest criticism of the president came as Trump and his allies have claimed, without evidence, that an FBI informant spied on his campaign for political purposes. On Sunday, Trump said he would demand the DOJ investigate the matter.

NFL club owners are considering potential 15-yard penalties for kneeling during the national anthem among ways of coping with a backlash over player protests, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday. According to a story on the magazine´s website, owners set aside three hours to talk about the anthem issue, which President Donald Trump elevated into a major controversy last year. Ideas to handle players kneeling during the anthem included allowing home teams to decide if players should be out of the locker room during the pre-game playing of The Star-Spangled Banner or not.If players are on the sideline, then 15-yard
