LAKELAND, FL - Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has identified the suspect in this morning´s deputy-involved shooting in the area of Highway 33 and Combee Rd. in Lakeland. Joshua Imhoff, 32, is listed in critical, but stable condition at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Judd says Imhoff is a career criminal, having spent stints in state prison in both 2009 and 2013. Judd says the chase started on I-4 before 6 a.m., following a domestic disturbance. The suspect first fired shots at an unmarked sheriff´s vehicle following him. Deputies returned fire. After deputies were able to run the suspect´s vehicle off

Comments:
Sheriff Grady Judd just said (on radio), "Shoot at our deputies, and we´ll shoot back. A lot." Yes, that´s what they will do, if necessary.

Just north of my old stomping grounds of Avon Park. Polk County is no place to be a dork.

Lotsa people shootin´ at the police, aren´t there?
Might have something to do with all these career dopehead criminals coming out of the revolving door of the "justice system".
Our area had an officer shot by a criminal that the probation dept. said was "unsuited for another attempt at community probation of any type". You guessed it...he was out on probation from multiple felonies last year.
You might want to think about that 2nd amendment right, if you haven´t already.

In and out of prison twice in the last 9 years. That´s the trouble. The prisons are like a fast food joint now- Just drive-in, drive out. simple.

Shooting at cops, if that is accurate, is a great way to get dead.

#2, this criminal should not have had a gun. Criminals --and he sounds like a really bad career criminal-- somehow illegally get their hands on guns.

I suspect that once again, during sentencing a weapons charge was negotiated down which lessened the thug´s prison term.

If a weapon is used in the commission of a crime, send them to prison and do not let them out

Grady, those officers need more shooting practice.
Why would anyone in that county test the system? He is nationally known for no nonsense.

I am seriously thinking of moving back to London. The family insists on it—New York, they say, is much too far away and now much too shabby. Basically the Bagel’s attractions are the karate, the occasional judo, and the weekly Brooklyn parties chez Michael Mailer. The women are better in London, but the real draw is the friends. I have many in London, very few in New York. The last fortnight in London was magical. Then the scene went sour, as parasites and social justice warriors like Bianca Jagger and Ed Miliband hogged the headlines by calling Trump a racist, a

I liked what the great Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch had to say about the heavily redacted 400-page DOJ document dump regarding the FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page. It is, he said, a “self-licking ice cream cone.” The image is appropriately surreal. But the more I think about it, the more I think it is only partially applicable to the whole RussiaGate melodrama we’ve been witnessing for the last year and a half. Wikipedia defines this autogleipsimous activity as “a self-perpetuating system that has no purpose other than to sustain itself.” The Mueller investigation and its attendant pseudo-pods in the media

During Soviet years—the 1980s-- I was labeled “an enemy of the Soviet people” in a leading Russian magazine, and it became a badge of honor. I received it because of the work I did exposing Soviet lies, repression, and subversion, and because of the support for anti-Kremlin dissidents I helped organize. So I’m familiar with Russian deceits. And everyone else’s, for that matter. It’s an integral part of diplomacy and also of intelligence services’ routine. They deceive both their friends and enemies. So I am not the least upset when Trump’s critics assail him for being soft on the Russian dictator,

A local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is holding a vigil Sunday for a black man who was killed Thursday in what authorities are calling a "stand your ground" shooting. The vigil for the family of Markeis McGlockton, 28, who the Pinellas County sheriff said was killed by Michael Drejka, 47, will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Clearwater, according to a news release. Participants, including members of the South St. Petersburg Democratic Club, will march from the church to Circle A Food Store, the site of the

Seminole´s Brittany Lincicome did not make the cut in her first PGA Tour event, but she did improve by seven shots in her second round. Lincicome shot 1-under 71 on Saturday at the Barbasol Championship in Nicholasville, Ky., after having to wait an extra day to play her second round due to rain. Her two-day total was 5-over 149. An Australian man who identifies as a transgender woman defended himself in court on Thursday, claiming that he was either possessed by a demon or his mind was addled by drugs and therefore it was his body, not him, who attacked people at a 7-Eleven with an ax last year. Evie Amati, the 26-year-old suspect, does not deny being bodily present at the time, but claims his* mind was somewhere else. Amati allegedly attacked two people with an ax at a 7-Eleven on January 7, 2017. The suspect then reportedly swung the ax twice at a man outside who managed to

A wave of nostalgia appears to have swept the nation, with the swinging sixties creeping back into fashion. Hawaiian shirts, traditional barbershops and vintage buys are all making a comeback, and with it, retro scents. The Perfume Shop has reported a 35 per cent yearly increase in the sales of traditional fragrances made famous in the 1960s. Surprisingly, the fragrance specialists say millennials are driving the craze, along with the trend of adopting a sixties lifestyle. An expert for the brand explained the sixties could be defined by the prominence in scents with lavender, tobacco and sandalwood notes, moving away from

But some were more thoughtful than others, with speculation on what really might be happening.

Hillary donned a mumu-style top that nearly touched the floor and white pants. Her hair was disheveled and she had very prominent bags under her eyes. To think this woman almost became the 45th president of the US….Hillary Clinton complained about Russia and Vladimir Putin for almost 45 minutes straight during a Q&A session with Laurene Powell Jobs, founder of Emerson Collection. One disastrous tweet has finally revealed Elon Musk for what he is: a fraud. Enraged that a British cave diver called his idea to rescue the Thai soccer team for what it was — “a p.r. stunt [with] absolutely no chance of working” — Musk took to Twitter and called him a “pedo.” Just like that, Tesla’s market value plummeted by $2 billion. Nearly two years ago, I moved with my daughter, who was then 7, from Yonkers to a small town in Pennsylvania. It’s minutes outside of New Jersey, but right in the heart of Donald Trump’s America. Sixty-one percent of the people in my county voted for him. Drive through most communities in my town and you’ll still see large blue Trump campaign signs on perfectly manicured lawns. Chances are, you’ll spot at least two newer-model pickup trucks with Confederate flag license plate frames. CLEARWATER — Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced Friday that his agency will not arrest a man deputies say shot and killed another man during an argument over a handicap parking space. The incident falls under Florida’s self-defense law known as "stand your ground," the sheriff said during a news conference. The law gives immunity to those in fear of their lives who use force to defend themselves. The shooting "is within the bookends of ‘stand your ground’ and within the bookends of force being justified," the sheriff said, later adding, "I’m not saying I agree with it, but I don’t make
