Police near Atlanta, Georgia are looking for a woman who allegedly attacked a store clerk over the price of a hair weave. Surveillance video shows the customer throwing merchandise and punches in the Duluth store. Venus Beauty Supply workers say the Wednesday night confrontation began after customer Melissa Roper and her daughter didn’t like the price of a weave, and the lack of customer service they apparently wanted. Roper’s daughter threw the product at the clerk, then the clerk threw it right back. (Snip) Then the clerk followed the mother-daughter duo, and that’s when things turned violent.
Comments: Newly emigrated Asians open stores in "underserved" African outposts in the USA, and are met with open hostility for being interlopers with the gall to do business in these areas. This is among the social negatives the rest of us are supposed to ignore while being lectured about Food Deserts and the lack of opportunity in inner cities across the land.
My observations locally drive me to ask - is there some Federal program that subsidizes Hair and Nail Salons, along with the Beauty Supply Stores that accompany them? In many areas of our nearest city, there are only such businesses, along with pay-day loan and check-cashing joints. It seems unreasonable that such ´poor´ areas could support the number of fashion-oriented businesses. They far outnumber grocery or convenience stores.
#4, the "poor" in the USA are largely obese, drive cars, have cell phones, have big screen TVs and have their hair and nails done regularly. And a whole lot of them have a giant chip on their shoulder, and a hair trigger violent reaction to anything that they don´t like.
Doesn´t it warm your heart to know that all this is paid for from your taxes?
After seeing Chris Rock’s special documentary “Good Hair”, which was about the black woman’s penchant for wanting good (straight, shiny, silky) hair, I wondered how they could afford thousands of dollars for hair care, processing, weaves, wigs, braiding, corn rows, etc.
He wondered the same thing.
Just found out “Good Hair” became a full length documentary. I believe this is the trailer I saw a few years back:
Deadly bacteria could be lurking in your dishwasher, new research reveals. The kitchen staple can contain everything from E.coli, which causes life-threatening food poisoning, to other pathogens linked to infections of the urinary tract, skin and inner heart lining, a Slovenian study found. Although usually harmless, these bacteria can be fatal in people with reduced immune systems, such as those undergoing chemotherapy or organ transplants. Bacteria and fungi are thought to enter dishwashers via the tap water that supplies them, as well as through contaminated food, the research adds. Researchers recommend people reduce their risk of infection by allowing
President Trump is employing techniques “popularized by Joseph Stalin” to demonize the press and his approach could do great harm to the nation in the long run, Sen. Jeff Flake said Sunday. In an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” the retiring Arizona Republican and outspoken critic of the president said he’s deeply troubled by how Mr. Trump attacks the media. “You can talk about crowd size, and this is pretty innocuous if there’s a falsehood. But when you reflexively refer to the press as the ‘enemy of the people’ or ‘fake news,’ that has real damage,” Mr. Flake said. “It

As many people across the country recognized Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Tuesday, convicted spy Chelsea Manning took to Twitter to blast the men and women in blue. “F–k the police,” Manning tweeted out on Tuesday, followed by “#DisarmThePolice #WeGotThis.” Manning doubled down on her position, sending out a series of tweets with seemingly unsourced stats. Manning, who was known as Bradley Manning before transitioning in prison after her arrest in 2010, was convicted in 2013 of 20 counts, including Espionage Act violations, theft and computer fraud. A New York Democratic assemblywoman was indicted Tuesday for allegedly defrauding government agencies out of tens of thousands of dollars, including the agency in charge of Hurricane Sandy relief. The Department of Justice announced that Pamela Harris, a New York state assemblywoman, was charged with wire fraud, making false statements, bankruptcy fraud, witness tampering and obstructing justice. The indictment also claims that when Harris learned that law enforcement was investigating her in 2017, she pushed witnesses to lie for her to FBI agents conducting the investigation. (Snip) According to the New York Daily News, Harris used the money for vacations, cruise tickets
A deranged attacker sprayed a woman in the face with a caustic substance on Staten Island Monday morning, yelling "Do you have the time now, b----?" police sources said. The 52-year-old victim was walking along Woodrow Road by Carlton Blvd. in Arden Heights, when another woman approached her from behind at about 11:30 a.m. “I didn’t know the person,” said Lizzie Dunn. “She asked me for cigarette and I told her no. “She then asked for money and I told her no and sorry.” (Snip) “She grabbed me from the hood of my coat and sprayed me with something
London – A couple, who met on a dating site and began researching how to make homemade explosives and the deadly poison ricin, were found guilty on Monday of plotting Islamic State-inspired chemical and bomb attacks on Britain. Munir Hassan Mohammed, 37, from Derby in central England, began sharing extremist material within weeks of meeting Londoner Rowaida El-Hassan, 32, who in turn helped him find information on making ricin. “This then rapidly escalated and El-Hassan, a qualified pharmacist, readily passed on her knowledge to Mohammed giving him the technical assistance he needed in preparing for a terrorist attack,” said Detective Chief Inspector
NBC plans to televise any players who refuse to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl, but there may be nothing to show. It appears that NFL players are no longer taking a knee during the national anthem, namely because none of the teams with still-active protesters has qualified for the postseason. By the end of the regular season, only five teams featured at least one player regularly sitting or kneeling on the sidelines for the anthem: the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders. None of those franchises made the
Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), no doubt gearing up to run for president in 2020, became unhinged during Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday.Booker glared crazily at Nielsen as he smashed his fists in protest of President Trump’s alleged “S***hole,” comments made during a meeting with Democrats on DACA. (Photo/Tweet/Video) Daily Caller published a partial transcript of Booker’s tirade: “I hurt,” Booker cried. “When Dick Durbin called me I had tears of rage when I heard about this experience in this meeting. “For you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss
On Monday’s broadcast of CBS’ “Late Show,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated that President Trump can begin to prove he’s not racist or bigoted by supporting the bipartisan immigration compromise. Schumer said Trump’s comments “over and over and over again can be described as nothing but racist and obnoxious. He says he’s not a racist. Well, … I have a challenge for Donald Trump. Okay, actions speak louder than words, if you want to begin, just begin that long road back to proving you’re not a racist, you’re not bigoted, support the bipartisan compromise that three Republicans and
Mitt Romney took a swipe at Donald Trump on Monday, condemning the crude comments the president was said to have made about Haiti and African countries -- calling them “inconsistent (with) America’s history and antithetical to American values” with a reference to Martin Luther King, Jr. The poverty of an aspiring immigrant’s nation of origin is as irrelevant as their race,” Romney tweeted. “The sentiment attributed to POTUS is inconsistent w/America’s history and antithetical to American values. May our memory of Dr. King buoy our hope for unity, greatness, & ‘charity for all.’”
This Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the NAACP wants man-made global warming to be seen as a civil rights issue, arguing King’s vision of a society free of racial injustice can’t be achieved without addressing warming. “We see climate change as a civil rights issue,” Jacqueline Patterson, head of the NAACP’s environmental and climate justice program, said in an online radio spot for the Yale Center for Environmental Connection. Environmental activists have been increasingly framing global warming as a matter of “environmental justice,” since “minority and low-income populations are disproportionately affected by global warming,” Patterson told Yale’s online radio Climate
Ever since Donald Trump entered the political arena, his intelligence has been viciously attacked and his supporters have been labeled as moronic deplorables. In a recent Trump tweet, the president responded to the most recent attack by saying he is a stable genius. The mainstream media never bothered checking evidence of Obama´s intelligence before one historian declared him "the smartest man with the highest IQ ever to be elected to the presidency", even though his academic records were sealed. What these attacks do prove is who the real brains are and who are the dummies: Alan Dershowitz may be for real
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) on Monday announced she plans to boycott President Trump´s State of the Union address to Congress at the end of the month, joining a handful of other Democratic lawmakers who are skipping the annual event. "I´m here on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to say I will not be going to the State of the Union," Jayapal said in a video posted on social media. "I think it is absolutely unacceptable to see the racism and the hatred coming out the White House in a way in which this president is fueling the flames of divisiveness across
