GOP megadonor Adelson
Publicly breaks with Bannon

Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, the GOP’s most prominent megadonor, is publicly breaking with former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon over his efforts to oust Republican incumbents in 2018. “The Adelsons will not be supporting Steve Bannon’s efforts,” said Andy Abboud, an Adelson spokesman. “They are supporting Mitch McConnell 100 percent. For anyone to infer anything otherwise is wrong.” The public pronouncement comes about a month after Adelson met with Bannon in Washington. Bannon has been huddling with major Republican contributors across the country in hopes of building a war chest to take on party lawmakers. Bannon aides said they were

News source is suspect. I will wait for evidence from credible sources of Adelson non-participation, not Swamp reporting.

He probably found out that he couldn’t buy him. McConnell - for as long as he lasts - is a better bet for old Shel.

There was a day I thought there was something good about Bannon, but that day is long gone. He is a hurricane out to destruct, and he is also the reason we have that disaster down south right now.

Again the futility of trying to work within the GOP structure. Bannon should be leading an effort for a new party financed by millions of small donations. Leave the billionaire donors to the UniParty.

People with a lot of money, Whether they earned it, won it, or inherited it, tend to be, "My way or the highway." Money is power, and if you want some of theirs, you better give them something, usually everything THEY want.

In this day and age, none of them are willing to do business without hanging on to government influence, and we need government out of our lives, because the only people who can make it, these days are the ones who brutally encourage that interference.

I´m sure everyone sees the problem.

It´s why the Red Chinese annihilated their upper class in their Mao-led Revolution. It´s why this is getting so dangerous in America.

We´ve become a nation led by influence-peddlers mouthing sound-bites, trying to influence a population that is getting angrier and angrier, all the while not wasting the effort in discovering or correcting the source of irritation.

This is not going to end well.

Bannon is one of the swamp draining team. Of course the GOP will not like him. Too many prominent GOP members are part of the swamp. You go Bannon!

People forget that Adelson is a (actually THE) major reason why DJT is President today. He could have snuffed Trump early and instead gave him the nod of approval.

This is nothing personal - it´s business. Lots of business on the Hill and elsewhere.

Adelson is no dummy. Bannon is not as powerful as he thinks he is. He almost acts like he wants Trump to have the Dems control the House and Senate.

Instead of attacking Bannon, why doesn´t Adelson use his money the way Soros does? Maybe we would gain some traction in changing things. I am not impressed with these republican mega donors. They strike me as people who are trying to buy politicians.

Politico is not a reliable source, regularly publishing carefully crafted Fake News to push the leftist agenda.

I will assume this is a lie until a reliable source reports it.

Over time now we have seen these mega donors using their money to control the government that they want it to go. And the average citizen that works every day to earn a living for their family get less and less effect on the government and what it does. And at some time in the future, those blue collar types will rise up and put a stop to what is going on in these days and times. And when they do, it will be something akin to the past Civil War. Only they won´t attempt to leave the country. They will try to repair it.

I don’t see that Adelson was the sole reason Donald Trump won the presidency. He made a big splash with a mega commitment in the 9 figures, then backed it off to $5 million. Rabidly anti-Trump Ricketts ended up putting in $1 million for Trump. Then there were Robert and Rebekah Mercer. And others.

Politico and those who disseminate their rubbish intend this piece to deal Bannon a blow and, indirectly, Trump. Transparent.

Adelson will stay with the ones he can control. I strongly doubt that anyone got a controlling interest in President Trump, money or no money...

Bannon aides told Politico that they were not surprised by Adelson´s decision, because of Adelson’s history of supporting mainstream Republicans rather than outsiders.

Bannon praised Adelson on Sunday night at the Adelson-funded Zionist Organization of America´s annual dinner.

But Adelson and his wife Miriam did not attend the event.

The climatistas and their toadies in the media can’t stop scratching their heads and asking/demanding why conservatives/Republicans refuse to credit “the science” about climate change. Maybe because of articles like the one in the New York Times today, which makes clear that the left sees climate change as an excuse for a massive political power grab: The Climate Crisis: It’s Capitalism, Stupid By Benjamin Y. Fong . . . The real culprit of the climate crisis is not any particular form of consumption, production or regulation but rather the very way in which we globally produce, which is for profit rather than for

Trump administration to end provisional

Washington Post, by Karen DeYoung and Nick Miroff    Original Article

The Trump administration has given nearly 60,000 Haitians with provisional legal residency in this country 18 months to leave, announcing Monday that it will not renew the Temporary Protected Status that has allowed them to remain here for more than seven years. The decision came after the Department of Homeland Security determined that the “extraordinary conditions” justifying their presence in the United States following a 2010 earthquake “no longer exist,” according to a senior administration official. “Since the 2010 earthquake, the number of displaced people in Haiti has decreased by 97 percent,” acting homeland security secretary Elaine Duke said in a statement.

Stephen King specializes in giving readers nightmares, but his latest bestselling novel, 11/22/63, draws its strength from a wistful, widely shared daydream.(Snip)To place Mr. Kennedy in the same pantheon as Lincoln and Roosevelt is absurd. Lincoln presided over the Civil War and freed the slaves, Roosevelt laid the foundations for the American welfare state and led a reluctant nation into the Second World War. Mr. Kennedy had no comparable achievements. Save for the assassin´s bullet that gave him a martyr´s halo, he was a mediocre president, distinguished mainly by his combination of eloquent rhetoric and often-reckless foreign policy.

The Ultimate Argument for Roy Moore

The argument has little to do with Roy Moore, and even less with what is acceptable behavior. It is about what Lenin succinctly called “who, whom?” — who can do what to whom or, as Amos ’n Andy used to say, who’s gonna be the “do-er” and who the “do-ee,” neither more nor less. The reason why the bipartisan ruling class of officials, corporate executives, educators, the media, entertainment, etc. demand Roy Moore’s political scalp is that it fell on Moore to be the focus of a pivotal effort to detach the Republican Party from that ruling class. It has

The Islamic State caliphate is crumbling, but President Trump is right to keep some military forces in Syria. Speaking on Thursday, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis explained that the U.S. would retain forces there to help peace efforts and keep a lid on any threats that emerge in the post-ISIS era. As Mattis put it, "We´re trying to move everything out of Astana over to Geneva, so we can come up with the next steps. Those next steps will have to do with how do you set up a political reconciliation. That plan would involve an election of some kind, under international

It wasn’t that long ago when black people were mostly Republicans because the GOP was the party of Lincoln. One of the most prominent black Republicans was the Rev. Martin Luther King Sr. — until his son Martin Luther King Jr. found himself in a Georgia jail in1960 after a civil rights protest, and needed Sen. John F. Kennedy’s help to get him out. Not only did Daddy King vote for Kennedy that November but he helped the Democrat win the black vote on his way to the White House, a victory Democrats have enjoyed ever since. Which brings us to LaVar Ball.

There’s an old moral precept, derived from classical teaching, that virtue is its own reward. Right about now liberals may be slowly coming to learn the wisdom behind this thought. You can see this in the way many liberals are now engaged in self-flaggelation about whether Clinton should have resigned from office in 1998 when the Lewinsky scandal blew up. To be sure, much of this is political posturing, since Democrats want to use the sex harassment issue to defeat a Republican senate candidate next month. But the situational ethics of liberals is not exactly a new observation. A better question
