James Van Der Beek has come forward as a victim of sexual harassment, saying he’s had “my ass grabbed by older, powerful men.” The actor made the stunning disclosure early Thursday morning in a series of tweets about Harvey Weinstein’s sex scandal. “I’ve had my ass grabbed by older, powerful men, I’ve had them corner me in inappropriate sexual conversations when I was much younger…” Van Der Beek wrote, adding, “I understand the unwarranted shame, powerlessness & inability to blow the whistle. There’s a power dynamic that feels impossible to overcome.” The 40-year-old father of four rose to fame as Dawson Leery
Comments: Homosexual Hollywood sex pests also are being dragged into the light, although prior accusations by Corey Feldman and Corey Haim (one of whom is deceased), and also reports of poolside drug-fueled orgies with young boys, never gained much traction in the media.
Consider also that when Hollywood types lecture us about "rape culture" and abuses of power, they do so through their own lens. And very few of these brave ones came forward before it was safe to do so.
Dang, when I was young and good-looking, no one, I mean NO ONE, grabbed my ass. I must be the only person left in the world who has nothing to report in that regard. I got hit on plenty, but never grabbed. I´m starting to feel left out. Are we going to have to hear from everyone in Hollywood before this is all over?
They are ALL PIGS there. Van Der Beek shut his mouth because he had his hand on some other young woman or man´s behind. They are ALL pigs. Sainted Spielberg requires a "lewinsky" to be in his movies. Not a single person there deserves respect.
Without evidence to substantiate their claims, any of the victims would face sure financial ruin in the form of lawsuits filed by the deep-pocketed accusers. That´s in addition to being blackballed by Hollywood, which is filled with such players who protect their own. The way I see it, the more victims come forward, the deeper the damage to the left. Remember, these are the people who frame modern American culture, very much for the worse.
Matt Damon and George Clooney opened up about the predatory behavior of their some-times boss and one-time friend Harvey Weinstein on ´Good Morning America.´ In an interview that aired on Monday morning, both men said that they knew Weinstein was a ´bully´ and ´womanizer´ who bragged of bedding actresses, but had no idea about the level of criminal behavior that was occurring behind closed doors in hotels. Damon also confessed that he was aware Weinstein had sexually harassed ´the first lady of Miramax´ Gwyneth Paltrow just before the actress shot the film 1996 adaptation of Jane Austen´s ´Emma´ for the studio.
After heavy pressure from lawmakers and other stakeholders, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt on Thursday night sided with pro-ethanol lawmakers and said his agency will abandon many controversial changes to the nation’s ethanol mandate — prompting a top biofuels leader to claim that Mr. Pruitt apparently has had an “epiphany” over the past few days. In a letter to seven key senators, Mr. Pruitt — who had been critical of ethanol during his time as Oklahoma attorney general — shot down several major concerns about looming adjustments to the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), the federal law that requires the blending of
Donald Trump suggested in tweets early on Wednesday that former FBI director James Comey had decided to spare Hillary Clinton from prosecution “long before investigation was complete” into her government email practices, calling the process “a fix”. “FBI confirms report that James Comey drafted letter exonerating Crooked Hillary Clinton long before investigation was complete,” Trump tweeted, continuing, “Many people not interviewed, including Clinton herself. Comey stated under oath that he didn’t do this-obviously a fix? Where is Justice Dept?” Trump was referring to documents released by the FBI on Monday which show that Comey had composed a draft entitled: “Drafts of
A predominately black elementary school in Jackson, Mississippi, named after Confederate President Jefferson Davis, will be renamed after former President Barack Obama, leaders announced Tuesday. Davis Magnet IB PTA President Janelle Jefferson said during the Jackson Public Schools Board of Trustees meeting that school stakeholders voted earlier this month to rename the school Barack Obama Magnet IB, a move that will go into effect for the 2018-19 school year, The Clarion Ledger reported. (Snip) “We really wanted to know what they thought,” Ms. Jefferson said. “They could relate to Barack Obama because of his achievements, because he looks like them.”
The U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) issued a detainer request on the Sonoma County Jail for Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, who was arrested Sunday on suspicion of arson in Wine Country fires that have killed at least 40 residents. Breitbart News reported earlier this week that Sonoma County Sheriffs had arrested Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, 29, at Maxwell Regional Park in Sonoma County after a series of reports of ongoing fires in the region. (Snip) Mr. Gonzalez, who is homeless and reportedly known by law enforcement to have been living under a nearby bridge, claimed he was cold and had lit the
The head of MI5 today warned Britain is facing the biggest terror threat of his 34 year career - as he said tech giants have an ´ethical responsibility´ to crack down on extremists. Andrew Parker said extremists are mounting deadly terror attacks with just a few days of planning as the UK sees a ´dramatic´ jump in the scale and pace of the threat. In his annual ´state of the union´ assessment of the threat facing the UK, he said extremists are exploiting ´safe spaces´ online, hindering intelligence efforts to root them out. And he issued a fresh challenge to technology firms,
Philadelphia — When U.S. Sen. John McCain was a younger man, once or twice he was tasked with carrying Joe Biden´s luggage. On Monday, after Biden, the former U.S. vice president, awarded McCain with the National Constitution Center´s Liberty Medal, McCain was sure to let everyone know he hadn´t forgotten. "I´ve resented it ever since," McCain said on the lawn of the Philadelphia museum as he accepted the award for his lifetime of sacrifice and service to the country. (Snip) "The son of a gun never carried my bags," said Biden, a Democrat. "He was supposed to carry my bags;
Bowe Bergdahl, the Army deserter who walked off his base in Afghanistan, is whining that the US treated him worse than the Taliban. The 31-year-old sergeant told British TV journalist Sean Langan in an interview reported in The Sunday Times of London: “At least the Taliban were honest enough to say, ‘I’m the guy who’s gonna cut your throat.’ ” That got him less upset than the “administrative duties” the Army assigned him while awaiting trial, he said. “Here, it could be the guy I pass in the corridor who’s going to sign the paper that sends me away for
Actor Tom Hanks is blasting President Trump for his handling of a phone call to the widow of a fallen U.S. soldier, calling it “one of the biggest c**k-ups on the planet Earth.” "I´m only knowing what I read in the newspapers and what have you, and it just seems like it´s one of the biggest c**k-ups on the planet Earth, if you ask me," Hanks said in an interview with CNN. "This is a tragedy of the utmost consequence and it goes much longer beyond who´s going to come out on top of the news story. I think it´s
Freelance reporter and political consultant Michael J. Hout tweeted a photo of Hillary Clinton using forearm crutches during a visit to Yale Law School Saturday. Clinton’s use of the walking aide comes after breaking her toe during a UK book tour to promote “What Happened.” Clinton visited her alma mater on the same day she held a book signing event at the Wesleyan R.J. Julia Bookstore in Middletown, CT. The bookstore had strict guidelines for book signing attendees — “She will sign a maximum of two books for each attendee and will not personalize books,” posted Wesleyan R.J. Julia Bookstore
The widow of fallen American soldier Sgt. La David T. Johnson appeared on Good Morning America Monday to discuss the death of her husband as well as the now-notorious call she received from President Donald Trump. Myeshia Johnson first told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that she has yet to receive full details about the death of her husband — — a soldier who was killed in an ambush in Niger by ISIS-affiliated militants — and has a number of questions over what led to his death. The consolation call Myeshia received from Trump has become a point of controversy this week,
Sen. John McCain appeared to take a swipe at President Trump in an interview that aired Sunday when he called out the “highest income” Americans at the time who found a doctor to say they had a “bone spur” so they could avoid the Vietnam draft. McCain was interviewed on C-CPAN3, American TV and talked about the war. The interview was wide ranging, but he mentioned the draft. “We drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur,” McCain said “That is wrong.
The business decision of the NFL to isolate and ridicule well over half of their fan (customer) base will easily, very easily, go down in history as the most stunningly stupid decision in the history of any American business enterprise. The vast majority of NFL fans held a middle-class, center-right, common sense, and patriotic outlook toward sports and entertainment overall. In essence most of the NFL fan base are/were positively MAGA-minded. It reflects the profound disconnect between the corporation and their customer base that the NFL didn’t recognize the danger in making social justice causes part of their business enterprise. That blame
Let’s put the Uranium One scandal in perspective: The cool half-million bucks the Putin regime funneled to Bill Clinton was five times the amount it spent on those Facebook ads — the ones the media-Democrat complex ludicrously suggests swung the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump. The Facebook-ad buy, which started in June 2015 — before Donald Trump entered the race — was more left-wing agitprop (ads pushing hysteria on racism, immigration, guns, etc.) than electioneering. The Clintons’ own long-time political strategist Mark Penn estimates that just $6,500 went to actual electioneering. (You read that right: 65 hundred dollars.) By
