Establishment GOP Puts Cronies
over Country on Missile Defense

American Greatness, by Angelo Codevilla

As North Korea demonstrates America’s vulnerability to ballistic missiles, and as President Trump pledges “many billions of dollars” for “the anti-missile,” establishment Republicans are poised to use missile defense talk today in the same way they did in the wake of Ronald Reagan’s commitment to it: profit politically from rhetoric, funnel money to the best-connected contractors, and accomplish nothing. Since Reagan restored missile defense to the nation’s agenda 34 years ago, Republicans have led the spending of some 80 billion dollars on its behalf. But they have acquiesced as the U.S government has crafted each and every program according to

Comments:
The article goes on to talk about “The $30 Billion Boondoggle”.

Well worth a read, especially for anyone who still hankers for McConnell, Ryan and/or any of the Establishment GOPe types.

Got a fund raising letter in the mail today from the Republican National Committee. It´s going right in the round file. We gave the GOP the House, the Senate and the Presidency and they are squandering an opportunity of a lifetime to turn things around in this county. The RINO´s like Ryan, McConnell, McCain, etc., cannot pass themselves off as conservatives anymore. DRAIN THE SWAMP!

Megyn Kelly´s new NBC show has been widely panned by critics as being little more than a morning show ´bride of Frankenstein.´ Critics tore into Kelly who - after carving a career for herself as a respected political journalist, appeared to flounder as she tried to paint herself as warm and fluffy mid-morning TV show host. Time´s Daniel D’Addario said the former Fox host had totally failed to connect with her audience on Megyn Kelly Today. ´If there was one message that Megyn Kelly sought to impart in the first installment of her new NBC talk show, Megyn Kelly Today,

DUNFORD ON THE HOT SEAT: Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appears this morning at 10 before the Senate Armed Services Committee where he is expected to easily win reappointment for another two-year term as the president’s top military adviser. But it’s also a chance for Chairman Sen. John McCain and others to question the chairman over a raft of military issues, including the North Korea threat, spending caps, deadly naval and aviation mishaps and President Trump’s transgender service ban. New North Korea threats: Senators are likely to pepper Dunford with questions on North Korea following

N.F.L. Owners’ Unity With
Players Might Be Short-Lived

The image was striking — several owners of N.F.L. teams locking arms with their players on the sidelines Sunday in a dramatic statement of defiance to a president who ridiculed their sport and condemned players for refusing to stand during the national anthem as a protest against racism. And then on Monday night, the league’s most prominent owner knelt with his entire team. Beyond the appearance of unity, though, is a far different reality: The owners have done little to support players who protest to fight social injustice. A few owners have told their players that kneeling for the anthem is

Trump Trumps the Ruling Class Again

Donald Trump is once again confounding his critics. He is holding fast to a common sense view of politics that puts his opponents on constant defense and busts the monopoly they once had on shaping the American mind. Trump’s tactics are plain to see for anyone who bothers to look. Over and over, he drives a wedge between the political and cultural elites and Americans who don’t share their views of morality and “patriotism.” The president’s off-the-cuff comments on Friday at a rally for Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Luther Strange was a textbook example of Trump’s strategy in action. Exactly what millionaire athletes are protesting these days isn’t exactly clear to them or anyone else. The common thread appears to be some anti-American/police sentiment. America is racist? Police are racist? Whatever it is millions of Americans have had enough as evidenced by the ongoing NFL ratings spiral. Has a once-dominant professional sports franchise ever committed suicide? It looks like we may be about to find out. —————– Excerpt via DEADLINE: In metered market numbers, the primetime match-up between the 27-10 winning Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders snared an 11.6/20. Supreme Court dodges travel ban trap

The nine justices at the Supreme Court escaped having to decide the travel ban case, as time expired on President Trump´s executive orders calling for 90-day and 120-day moratoriums on travel with six countries. Justices can read calendars. In June, justices lifted injunctions on his orders, and scheduled hearings for October -- which was after the expiration date of his orders. Basically, they struck down the lower court orders without having to explain why. They don´t have to. From NPR: Over the weekend, the Trump administration issued a new update to its travel ban, which had been poised to expire.

Many people heralded Pittsburgh Steeler football player Alejandro Villanueva as a hero for standing up during the national anthem…. Today, not-so-much. Unfortunately, today Villaneuva says he was embarrassed to stand for the U.S. flag and National Anthem; and he apologized to his team and coach for not supporting their decision to stay in the locker room. ( Tweets)I wonder if all of those people who purchased his jersey will now be asking for refunds? (VIDEO)

John McCain revealed his doctors gave him a ´very poor prognosis´ when he first found out about the rare and aggressive brain cancer that he continues to battle. The Arizona senator said his doctors told him at the time that his condition was ´very, very serious´. ´So I just said, "I understand." Now we´re going to do what we can, get the best doctors we can find and do the best we can. The entire Pittsburgh Steelers team remained in the locker room during the national anthem, with the exception of one player: Army veteran Alejandro Villanueva, who plays offensive tackle for the Steelers. While the rest of his teammates remained in the locker room, Villanueva stood in the tunnel holding his helmet in his left hand and holding his right hand over his heart as the anthem played. WATCH: (Videos/Tweet) Villaneuva played in college at West Point Military Academy before going on to become an Army Ranger. He served three tours in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor.

The Dallas Cowboys, together with team owner Jerry Jones, take a collective knee at the start of the Monday Night Football game to display their unity with… well, something probably. Stick a fork in the financial future of the NFL, it’s done; finished. The only thing that was saving the NFL from full organizational collapse was the advent of Fantasy Football Leagues and the subsequent betting and fan-based league play therein. Never underestimate the inability of any business organization to inoculate itself with idiot resistant policies once they enter the arena of identity politics.

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) took a knee on the floor of the House tonight during a special order by the Congressional Black Caucus focused on rooting out racism and defending the First Amendment. "Someone had the lack of judgment to provoke the situation and call their mothers a name," Jackson Lee said of President Trump using "son of a bi*ch" last week to refer to NFL players who knelt during the National Anthem in protest of racial injustice. CARSON, Calif. — It’s time for NFL owners to go beyond issuing statements and to make a statement: bring back quarterback Colin Kaepernick. On Sunday, from an undisclosed location, Kaepernick retweeted on his Twitter account several images of NFL players wearing T-shirts that read #IMWITHKAP. NFL owners need to show they are as well. They finally can dispel theories that Kaepernick has been blackballed for refusing to stand for the national anthem last season, or, fearing a blacklash from fans, that they simply lack the courage to give him another chance. In May 2016, speaking at a campaign rally in Kentucky,

At a Friday rally in Alabama, President Donald Trump criticized football players who protest during the national anthem: Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b-tch off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’ (Snip)Here are five reasons the NFL anthem protests are not going as well as the media would like to think. 1. Vague And Unclear Protest Goals One of the keys to a good protest is to have a clear goal. If the discussions on Sunday were any indication, nobody is entirely clear

A day after most of the N.F.L. engaged in at least some form of demonstration during the playing of the national anthem, the Dallas Cowboys linked arms in the middle of the University of Phoenix Stadium field in Glendale, Ariz., and collectively took a knee before the song was played. The Arizona Cardinals linked arms in the end zone with some military personnel in a show of unity. By the time the pop star Jordin Sparks began singing the song, the Cowboys, who were joined in kneeling by the team’s owner, Jerry Jones, had moved to the sideline, linking arms while standing. The crowd, which had booed as the visiting C
