intervenes in Venezuela

The son of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro threatened to "take the White House" with guns if the U.S. military intervened in the country, as President Trump considered Friday. "If the U.S. soils the homeland, the rifles would come to New York and take the White House," Nicolas Maduro Guerra said, according to Politico. The White House is in Washington, D.C. and not New York. Trump said Friday the U.S. has "many options for Venezuela." "And by the way I am not going to rule out a military option," Trump added. Trump´s comments came after the U.S. imposed sanctions on allies

The problem is he will starve before he gets out of the country. Listen son, I´ll trade you a ham sandwich for your gun.

I don´t understand why we would be considering military action. We don´t need their oil, we have plenty of our own.

In the world of oil trading, Venezuela´s oil will soon belong to the Chinese. Refineries in the US set up to refine Venezuelan oil will soon be buying the product from the Chinese. And the glassy eyed progressives will see no hint of colonialism on China´s part - nope, thats something only western societies do - the Chinese are authoritarian dictators, and they cannot be colonial powers. I remember a bit of history. Mr Trump is probably referring to a bit of forgotten history called the Monroe Doctrine when he stated the US may need to take action. Trolls should google that.

They cannot even feed and provide for their own citizens, even with the oil wealth they own. And he wants to talk tough? Tis to laugh.

I doubt that he can step a foot away from his heavily fortified and gated residence without those same citizens laying in wait to take revenge.

I understand that the daughter of Hugo Chávez and another connected individual are billionaires, no doubt to some really hard hard work. Real hard. There´s no telling how much they skimmed from the country´s oil revenues. But comparatively oil is worth peanuts. The cocaine business, especially protected by the Castros and Cuba, continues to boom. Colombia, a wavering ally in the war against the cartels, has essentially surrendered to the drug involved, communist FARC, and Ecuador to the west is another communist paradise. So is the Bolivia of Évo Morales. There´s plenty of trouble in the back yard of our hemisphere.

CNN announced that after ten years, it parted ways this week with its longtime polling firm, ORC International, amid charges of fake news and faulty polls. ORC’s chief marketing officer Ana Mackay-Sim confirmed that CNN “did not renew their polling contract” with ORC International. The polling firm worked with CNN since 2006 and had continued their partnership after the 2016 presidential election until late April. “We are thankful for the opportunity we have had to partner with CNN in the past and wish them well in their future polling work,” Mackay-Sim told Politico. “We have no further comment at this

So AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka

Here´s a rich one from the news: AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka has loudly announced he´s resigning from the president´s manufacturing council, to protest, of all things, violence. He´s thrown racism, too, in the mix, baselessly accusing President Trump of it, in line with his long history of race-baiting. But the doozy is his newfound sudden aversion to violence. Up until now, violence has always been his stock in trade. In the aftermath of President Trump’s press conference on Tuesday, in which he condemned neo-Nazism and white supremacism, but refused to condemn the alt-right by name and suggested that there were some “very fine people” at Friday night’s white supremacist rally, the Left has done what it does best: overstepped dramatically. Instead of condemning Trump for the moral degradation of separating the alt-right from white supremacism, instead of pushing Trump on exactly whom he was seeking to defend at the rallies on Friday night, the media and the broader Left immediately leapt to one decisive conclusion: Trump’s major error was

Workers in Baltimore removed four of the city’s Confederate monuments in the early hours on Wednesday, days after many residents took to the streets to protest a white nationalist rally in Virginia that left three dead and many injured. Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh said Tuesday the monuments should come down, telling WBAL “let’s get it done,” but she didn’t want to say when. The Baltimore City Council unanimously passed a resolution Monday to remove the monuments, WTOP reported. “They [council members] could have started this back in August of last year, but of course nothing got done,” Ms. Pugh told

President Trump should have left well enough alone. His Monday denunciation of costumed sheet-wearers and Nazi wanna-bes could have cleared the way for Americans of all stripes to focus their outrage on things that matter more than presidential words. That would be the violence that is infecting our politics and the frightening acceptance of it as the new normal. But Trump’s defiance yesterday is sure to keep the media pot boiling over his rhetoric instead of an ominous reality. Namely, that real protestors don’t carry baseball bats, crowbars and mace. Yet Saturday’s bloody clash in Charlottesville showed that many on

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has weighed in on the weekend´s violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, castigating Donald Trump without naming him. ´We can have no tolerance for an ideology of racial hatred. There are no good neo-nazis,´ McConnell said in a statement. The choice of words, while careful, appeared to push back against Trump´s claim on Tuesday that some ´very fine people´ were among a crowd of white supremacists who rallied in the college town. McConnell´s wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, stood next to Trump on Tuesday as he insisted both sides of the weekend´s clash bore some responsibility for
