I usually try to give global warming hysterics the benefit of the doubt–sincere but misguided, not good at math, unacquainted with the Earth’s highly variable climatic history, and so on. But sometimes data come along that make that sympathetic attitude hard to sustain. Like this paper by Dr. James P. Wallace III, Dr. Joseph S. D’Aleo, and Dr. Craig D. Idso, which was published last month. Its title is “On the Validity of NOAA, NASA and Hadley CRU Global Average Surface Temperature Data & The Validity of EPA’s CO2 Endangerment Finding.” You should read it all, but one portion that struck
It is a complete fraud the greatest theft in human history, global government/s conspiring to steal from productive Americans to finance their own people’s sloth and politicians power lust.
Almost every single article expressing AGW skepticism includes fluff such as “we know warming is happening and we know man contributes to that” and then moves on to well a little warming might not be a bad thing, and it really isn’t all that significant. Rubbish!
NO! It is pure unadulterated bull-jive. We don’t know if we are entering another ice age or still exiting the last one; we don’t know squat. But we do know that when hard working people create wealth others will want to take it away and professional thieves will offer to do that for them.
The “Climate Change” movement is no more complicated than petty theft.
Thinking back about the origins of this scam, it seems that the first time it was heard of, it came from Europe, and was a ploy to try to hamstring US industry growth. The original targets set up for reductions in CO2 used the East German soft coal ecological horrorshow powerplants, recently joined West Germany, as proposed baseline of CO2 emissions. Unified Germany had replaced all of these high CO2, inefficient soviet designs, they had to do nothing new to meet their future CO2 reductions, and it appeared that the US would be seriously restricted from an economic standpoint by meeting their CO2 reductions. It was a Euro power play, revisited in the Paris Accords, intended to keep the financially struggling socialist paradises in Europe competitive, not by fixing their mess, but by hobbling the USA.
Later, the loser class in academia, those failing and mediocre scientists, many doomed to being dumped from their assistant professorships due to inability to attract funded research, grasping at a new research topic which had two miraculous properties: it was both so important that it must be funded, and the results of any research could stand with no challenge, no matter how wrong or fraudulent, until long after the fraudsters were retired or in their graves. A new research field, tailor made to attract the losers and frauds of science.
Add in the perversion of the large number of "green" ecopower groups, Sierra Club, Environmental Defense Fund, Wilderness Society, Greenpeace, who had been taken over from genuine hikers and conservationists by extreme leftist zealots, seeking a powerful new way to pry funding from donors in ever increasing quantities to fund their lavish lifestyles and ledtist propaganda machines.
Taken together, three disparate groups finding common cause in the World´s Biggest Scam.
The hockey stick graph that it was all originally based on is a fake as well. The Medieval Warming Period didn´t fit the man-made warming narrative, so it was just not included, in effect agreeable temperature numbers for that period were fabricated and graphed.
It MMGW has been a hoax from day one. All of it. It is the greatest scientific fraud in the history of mankind.
Absolutely it´s a fraud. The Global Warming hysteria is based mainly on the East Anglia Study, which has been debunked as a hoax which fabricated corroborating evidence for global warming while ignoring inconvenient facts. Yet in spite of its debunking, the Left applies the Rather Standard of "fake but accurate" to the East Anglia Study and continues to use it as the basis with which to perpetuate the global warming myth.
#5, may I ask your permission to post your comments on my FB page along with this article? You state the facts so much more clearly than I can - I will be glad to give you full credit. If not, thanks for putting into words what some of us cannot.
My answer to the question is "yes, and maybe not."
There is little question in my mind that leftists have cooked the books on global warming in pursuit of their eternal power grabbing schemes. It does not however follow that embarking on a path of ever increasing CO2 emissions is risk free. The proper way to mitigate the risk, IMHO, is to develop nuclear power and the electrification of transportation where practical.
Yes, the climate is changing. It always has been and always will be. The impact of human activities is minuscule and insignificant compared to the effects of the variabilities of the sun and the inherent geology of the earth. As with all species over time, homo sapiens must adapt or die.
#12, no one, except the leftists, is saying to do nothing, or there is no risk.
The question, is it all man-made as the leftists state/claim.
the actual temperature data didn´t fit their theory/models, so they simply changed the data to fit their theory.
And, have you ever wondered why it´s always 40-60 years in the future when this may all happen? Ever read a NOAA climate report? filled with old studies, lost of IF´s, May´s and Could´s. Not a lot of WILL´s.
Plus, it´s really about pollution.
Lastly, did you notice the Paris Accord would only reduce the target temperature by 0.17C if 100% of the targets were met, and in 83 years(by 2100)?
#10, sure. No problem. Credit for Lucianne would be nice. I am not a FB person, never, ever go there.
I have been closely observing this phenomenon for many decades, and have a lifelong friend who has been a research professor at several universities. I have learned from him of the dilemma of the mediocre scientists. Only 10% of grant proposals get funded each year, leaving 90% in the ashes. He has disappeared from the social scene for a couple of months when grant proposal time came around, very hard work to write a good one, he always was funded. For the 90% losers, after a few years of failed proposals, the pressure mounts from the universities, and from the banks account to get some sort of funded research, or be dropped from the faculty. Few know that direct salary for asst profs is very low, it is expected that they will get funded research and pay themselves out of their grant money. No grant, piddling salary and threats of being fired. Not all have the integrity to resist the siren song of MMGW "research."
As a lifelong backpacker and sometimes mountain climber I used to be a member of Sierra Club, Wilderness Society and more and watched them being subverted from the inside as a member. Of course, I long ago left them.
Three strange incidents occurred in recent weeks. Nancy Pelosi was "shouted down by immigration activists for trying to strike Dreamers deal with Trump". Hillary Clinton´s book received disappointing reviews from the left and former FBI director James Comey was heckled at Howard University. “Go home Comey, you’re not our homey.” The audience was turning on its performers. All were signs the once reliable Blue Model is misfiring. "Time magazine ... offer a brutal assessment concerning the direction of the Democratic Party. One rallying cry from the Left is that Clinton lost because she ... wasn’t left wing enough. Every time
President Trump’s address to the General Assembly of the United Nations earlier this week appears to have been calculated in part to “unsettle China” sufficiently to clamp down on Rocket Man. I think it’s gonna be a long, long time, but maybe President Trump was on to something. (Snip) Seeing President Trump in the White House on April 24 at his 100-day event for conservative media, I was most struck by his account of his then recent meeting with China’s President Xi. Readers may recall that my notes of President Trump’s remarks are a highly sought-after commodity. In his remarks Trump mentioned that the talked to
Today President Trump issued an executive order that imposes financial sanctions on those who do business with North Korea: "President Trump announced new U.S. financial sanctions Thursday that target North Korea and foreign companies or individuals that do business with the rogue nation…. (Snip) The administration was careful not to over-sell the move, saying that it won’t change the Kim regime’s goals and attitudes. Rather, the objective is to slow down North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs by starving them, partially, of funding. One might think that liberal reporters, who pretend to think that
I’ll probably never be able to make up my mind fully about President Trump, and I am sure a number of our commenters will pounce on this opening. But just about every time I think he’s blundered or shown himself not up to the job, something changes my mind as the dust settles. First, as Scott and Paul noted, his speech to the UN this week was terrific. Geez—you’d think from the reaction Trump called the Soviet Union an evil empire or something. Even more satisfying is how Trump continually confounds the efforts of the DC Swamp Monsters to make him conform to the “normal” rules and procedures of Washington.
Nicole Kidman´s impassioned acceptance speech was one of the highlights of the Emmys -- but careful listeners noticed something both telling and troubling. The actress devoted the conclusion of her speech to her immediate family, with special recognition to her two children. The only problem? She has four. “I have two little girls, Sunday and Faith, and my darling Keith, who I ask to help me pursue this artistic path, and they have to sacrifice so much for it,” Kidman said as she accepted her award for Outstanding Lead Actress in "Big Little Lies." She then spoke directly to the girls: "So this is yours. I want my little girls to
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded President Donald Trump´s address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, calling it "bold" and "courageous." "In over 30 years in my experience with the UN, I never heard a bolder or more courageous speech," Netanyahu tweeted. "President Trump spoke the truth about the great dangers facing our world and issued a powerful call to confront them in order to ensure the future of humanity." In over 30 years in my experience with the UN, I never heard a bolder or more courageous speech. (Snip) Netanyahu watched Trump´s speech enthusiastically from Israel´s seat
The climatistas really are a fun and lovable bunch to watch. Also pathetic. They are victims of their own doomsday scenarios of inexorably rising greenhouse gas levels and the parade of horribles soon to follow. The Paris Accord, even if fully implemented, will barely slow any future warming accord to the standard climate orthodoxy (better known as “The Consensus”). That’s why the former NASA chief climatista James Hansen called the Paris Accord “a fraud.” What do you do when, having told us for more than 20 years that “we only have ten years left” to act, the deadline passes and we haven’t got anywhere close to a
Sen. John McCain almost certainly just killed TrumpCare — and gave a boost to managed-care stocks such as UnitedHealth (UNH) and Centene (CNC). The Arizona Republican declared that he couldn´t "in good conscience" vote for the Graham-Cassidy plan to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with block grants to states. John McCain?Verified account @SenJohnMcCain I cannot in good conscience vote for Graham-Cassidy. A bill impacting so many lives deserves a bipartisan approach. The news brought a sudden turnaround in managed-care stocks, though much of that was short-lived. Shares of Centene, whose fortunes are more tied to the ObamaCare exchanges and Medicaid
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) announced on Friday that he will vote against the latest GOP effort to repeal ObamaCare, potentially dooming the legislation. “I cannot in good conscience vote for the Graham-Cassidy proposal. I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried," he said in a statement, referring to the legislation spearheaded by GOP Sens. Lindsey Graham (S.C) and Bill Cassidy (La.). McCain´s announcement leaves GOP leadership with no room for error.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama has spoken about what life was like for her and her family during her eight years in The White House. Her candid comments came during a moderated discussion at a tech conference in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday evening. ´It´s like being shot out of a cannon while drinking from a fire hydrant blind,´ she explained as she told of how she got used to her new way of living. ´You have to tell The White House what kind of toilet paper you like. You don´t know where your forks are.´ (Photos) Mrs Obama
The Senate’s top Democrat offered praise for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) after he said he would oppose the latest ObamaCare repeal bill, which narrows the chance that Republicans can get the legislation to President Trump’s desk. “John McCain shows the same courage in Congress that he showed when he was a naval aviator,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said an hour after McCain’s statement. “I have assured Senator McCain that as soon as repeal is off the table, we Democrats are intent on resuming the bipartisan process.” McCain is the second Republican, after Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), to announce
Former Democratic Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) tweeted that she hopes all NFL players kneel during the national anthem on Sunday in response to President Trump´s remarks attacking Colin Kaepernick. Edwards, who left Congress earlier this year, called Trump a "white supremacist who squats in our White House" in her tweet.
If NFL fans continue to turn away from football, the TV networks could lose as much as $200 million in earnings, according to a new report. After ratings for Week Two crashed, adding to the angst already felt by a poor showing in Week 1, industry insiders and analysts are sounding the alarm. A new report claims that CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC could take a $200 million hit to their estimated $2.5 billion in NFL advertising earnings if fans continue to turn off the TV, the The Hollywood Reporter noted recently. The worries over earnings are not allayed by
His pre-dawn raid was meant to intimidate Manafort, not just to collect evidence. Robert Mueller’s sprawling special-counsel investigation is playing hardball. It was not enough to get a search warrant to ransack the Virginia home of Paul Manafort, even as the former Trump campaign chairman was cooperating with congressional investigators. Mueller’s bad-asses persuaded a judge to give them permission to pick the door lock. That way, they could break into the premises in the wee hours, while Manafort and his wife were in bed sleeping. They proceeded to secure the premises — of a man they are reportedly investigating for tax and financial crimes, not gang murders and Mafia hits — by drawing their guns on the stunned couple, apparently to check their pajamas for weapons. Mueller’s probe more resembles an empire, with 17 prosecutors retained on the public dime. So . . .
