President Obama’s former photographer posted a photo response to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) and musicians Ted Nugent and Kid Rock mocking a portrait of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a White House visit on Thursday. Pete Souza´s photo, posted to Instagram, shows Obama sitting with his White House chief of staff Bill Daley beneath a portrait of former President Ronald Reagan. Palin and Nugent can be seen in their Thursday photo standing beside Clinton’s official first lady portrait while making exaggerated gestures as Kid Rock stands with his arms folded. Souza is known to use his Instagram

I took my kids on a White House tour just after that portrait was installed early in the Bush administration. It´s at the start of the tour just as one enters the White House so its one of the first things a visitor sees. What I thought was so funny is that it´s opposite the display of the china from past presidents. She will forever look at it longingly.

...I realize that the Daily Mail refers to it as "mocking", but I think everyone from the left is just winding themselves up a bit too tight...

...Kid Rock has his arms crossed, Nugent is holding his jacket lapel and Palin doesn´t want her hand in front of Ted´s crotch...

...and I pulled out my magnifying glass and no, she isn´t even flipping Hillary...

...how long before it can be rotated OUT..?

The Souza “response” to the Palin-Nugent-Rock carrying the annotation “Being respectful” has no significance because it is comparing apples to oranges. The individuals in front of the Hillary Clinton portrait, as celebrities, do not command the “formality” expected of a President as displayed in front of the portrait of President Ronald Reagan.

So why did Hillary get a WH portrait? She was not elected to Preezy or VicePreezy? Does SOS or Jr NY Senator get you a WH portrait? I would think the portrait w/b of Pres BJ with his wife Hillary sitting in a chair by his side - not alone as if she got there by herself?

#9, There have been First Lady portraits in the White House apaprently since Martha Washington. https://www.whitehousehistory.org/galleries/first-lady-portraits

I have never been all that Never-Sarah. I also have a sense of humor. But I doubt the President himself was very happy about these particular highjinx being published, so for me--the point goes to Souza.

This gang is a bit too Jacksonian for me and I would like the White House restored to dignity and respect. Maybe they should have designated times for horsing around in the Oval Office and White House (talking to you too, Ivanka) before which the participants would be frisked for cameras and smart phones.

The Antithesis of Obstruction
National Review, by Andrew C. McCarthy    Original Article

The “collusion” narrative was a fraud, plain and simple. We know that now. Hopefully, it won’t take another six months to grasp a second plain and simple truth: Collusion’s successor, the “obstruction” narrative, is a perversion. The Left loves narrative. The ever-expanding story manipulates time, space, and detail to fit a thematic framework. Political narrative has some surface appeal, but it is deeply flawed. It obscures plain and simple truth. So let’s stick with the plain and simple: The essence of obstruction is to frustrate the search for truth. Its antithesis is to demand the exposure of fraud. Donald Trump’s

Maajid Nawaz told Bill Maher tonight that he plans to sue the Southern Poverty Law Center for defamation for listing him as an “anti-Muslim extremist.” Nawaz, who wrote a book called Radical: My Journey Out of Islamist Extremism, is featured on the SPLC’s page “A Journalist’s Manual: Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists” and in addition to saying “the evidence suggests that Nawaz is far more interested in self-promotion and money than in any particular ideological dispute,” they feature a list of actions he’s taken that they say backs up this characterization. The head of the CIA on Saturday pushed back on accusations the U.S. is not doing enough regarding Russia’s attempts to interfere in elections. CIA Director Mike Pomepo [sic] also said President Trump is an “avid consumer” of intelligence reports. “I cannot imagine a statement that is any more false than one that would attribute President Trump of not being interested in the intelligence community. He is an avid consumer of the products the CIA provides,” Pompeo said in an interview with Hugh Hewitt that aired Saturday on MSNBC. “I’m with the president nearly every day,” Pompeo said. Dems push leaders to talk

Frustrated Democrats hoping to elevate their election fortunes have a resounding message for party leaders: Stop talking so much about Russia. Democratic leaders have been beating the drum this year over the ongoing probes into the Trump administration’s potential ties to Moscow, taking every opportunity to highlight the saga and forcing floor votes designed to uncover any business dealings the president might have with Russian figures. But rank-and-file Democrats say the Russia-Trump narrative is simply a non-issue with district voters, who are much more worried about bread-and-butter economic concerns like jobs, wages and the cost of

An Animal House, all-is-well quality colored Nancy Pelosi’s Thursday press-conference postmortem of her party’s Tuesday defeat in Georgia. “We reduced by 20 points what the advantage had been in that district for the Republicans,” the minority leader, imagining Democrats playing horseshoes or hand grenades, declared. “This is good news for us.” If losing a race Nate Silver gave you a 70 percent chance to win comes as “good news,” does repeatedly losing winnable special elections amount to really, really good news? Remarkably, for Nancy Pelosi, yes. By juxtaposing the relatively narrow margins of defeat in four 2017 special elections with earlier blowouts in

Oslo — On January 9, 2009, Grace Gao woke up with a strange feeling. She sensed that someone was going on a long journey. Yet no one in the apartment was packing. Everything was normal — as normal as it ever was. Her dad was holding her brother tightly, however. Then he held her and her mom tightly. So she knew: It was they — mother, daughter, and son — who were going on a long journey. On that day, they escaped China. First they went by motorbike. Then they hid in the luggage hold of a bus. Eventually, they

BETHESDA, Md. — The Justice Department will form partnerships with a dozen cities across the country to help them fight gun crime, drug trafficking and gang violence, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Tuesday. Under the program — the Trump administration’s latest move in prioritizing a reduction in violent crime — advisers and consultants will help local law enforcement officials develop strategies to combat violent crime. The cities will not receive funding as part of the initiative, a Justice Department spokesman said. “We will make America and every American neighborhood safe again,” Mr. Sessions said, announcing the partnerships at the start of a

The end of the Supreme Court term looms, and with it the prospect — the terrifying prospect — of a retirement. Specifically, the retirement of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, who will turn 81 next month and is the longest-serving current justice, named to the high court almost 30 years ago. So if Kennedy is inclined to retire, it is hard to begrudge him that choice. But his departure would be terrible for the court and terrible for the country. It could not come at a worse time. Any court vacancy these days, under a president of either party, triggers a battle

A feminist magazine is calling on all white women to “do their part to prevent white supremacy” and abort their white babies. This is sick beyond words. The feminist Medusa Magazine reported: In a progressive society, it is often white families that stand in the way of equality and justice. Systemic white supremacy depends, first and foremost, on the white family unit. When white conquerors forcefully penetrated the indigenous, egalitarian homeland of the Native peoples of America, they were quick to replicate their white societies, initiating their parasitism by establishing white plantations, headed by white fathers, submissive white mothers, and,

President Donald Trump broke a long standing White House tradition of hosting a dinner to celebrate Ramadan, a Muslim religious holiday. Hosting an Iftar dinner to mark the end of Ramadan fasting is a tradition that started in the Clinton years and was continued by Presidents Bush and Obama. Over the past two decades presidents have honored the holy day by hosting such a dinner. Thomas Jefferson was the first president noted in history to host Itfar in 1805 with an invitation to the dinner stating ´Dinner will be on the table precisely at sun-set – ´ the invitation read. ´The favour

A senior US Energy Department official appointed by the Trump administration once described Barack Obama as a “Kenyan creampuff”, Mark Zuckerberg as an “arrogant, self-hating Jew” and climate scientists as “cultists” and “nuts”, according to a report. William C Bradford, director of the Department’s Office of Indian Energy, also appeared to believe Mr Obama might refuse to step down after his two terms of office, asking “what will we do? Is a military coup the only answer?” The messages were posted on a since-deleted Twitter account, @Brute_Bradford, The Washington Post revealed. Previously Mr Bradford caused

An angry couple assaulted a Georgia fast food owner and her daughter outside a restaurant over a chicken and fries order — leaving the two women battered and authorities in disbelief. “I have a severely broken nose that requires surgery,” Quik Chik owner Jeanette Norris told the Daily News Sunday. “My daughter is scared. She was hit on her right side and has a black eye.” Norris was violently attacked at around 3 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant in Baxley after a couple complained about an order — prompting an argument that led suspect, Latasha Smith, to slap and punch

At last we know why Chicago’s homicide level is so out of control: Gangs, not police control the streets. The gangs know it; the police know it; and now, thanks to DNAinfo.com/Chicago, we know it. A week ago, Chicago street gangs held a huge party in a park, with a thousand people attending, some brandishing firearms, terrifying neighbors for hours. The police sent 25 squad cars, yet were outnumbered and unable to really do anything. (snip)Obviously, there is no political will to take back control of the streets. So everyone gets the message that gangs rule. No wonder the murder
