The Secret Service will permanently remove a top special agent from her position after an investigation into her Facebook comments that she would rather not defend President Trump or take "a bullet" from him, but some agents are concerned she will simply be transferred to another government job. About two weeks ago, the Secret Service placed the agent´s prior post — the special agent in charge of the Denver District, the top job in that office — on a list of agency openings, according to two Secret Service sources. Kerry O´Grady, the agent in question, is on administrative leave Please proofread before posting
Comments: Talking about double speak. She has been ´permanently removed´ yet somehow not ´fired.´
I have to wonder if this President wouldn´t be safer with a more dedicated and motivated cadre of highly trained professionals to protect him, like maybe SEALs or something similar.
The Secret Service as it stands has a difficult time even keeping intruders off the grounds. Further, if an SS agent won´t take a bullet for the President, how long do you think it might be before one of them decides to do something even more shockingly unthinkable. The thought is sickening but in this crazy world, nothing is outside of the realm of possibility.
Send her to Antarctica to find and take stool samples until she retires. That should keep her busy.
It´s time for elite military special operations units to protect the President as in this highly charged political climate there is some doubt that the Secret Service even has the legitimate authority anymore to effectively vet and weed out unqualified candidates for employment. In that respect if some Muslims of foreign origin were to apply, chances are a leftist judge would rule that the Secret Service must hire them, and put them on duty carrying firearms at the White House. These are crazy times with the enemy within being so active.
Top special agent? Really? She has to be one of those affirmative hires from the socialist/communist ranks who got personally promoted through the ranks by Barry himself. No wonder the SS can´t seem to do their job.
Send this moron to the Adak Alaska Field Office and have her investigate penny coin counterfeiters. Sad to say that when I was in California I worked with high level government employees like O´Shady Grady. Ignorant hard to fire political hacks who disgrace themselves with their own overblown sense of self-importance. They just can´t do their job and get on with it. They have to grandstand. In a clerical gub´ment job this is bad but in a job like O´Grady´s it´s worse. She should be FIRED and not allowed to retire with benefit´s. She´s truly a dishonorable and pathetic person.
She should not be transferred to Alaska like previous commenters have suggested; she should be fired and stripped of all law enforcement credentials. Then she should be prevented from ever gaining a security-type job again. I´d also closely review her license for carrying a weapon and suggest she have it revoked for showing signs of mental unfitness.
That´s what the left would do and we need to start fighting the war instead of thinking we´ll win by taking some high road that doesn´t exist and only takes us out of the way so the left can put another anti-American in the post just like the one they´ve sort of removed.
Most federal workers are Dems/Lefties and that includes those employed by law enforcement and the intel agencies so don´t think that the USSS is special in that they put their politics aside - not anymore at least.
This woman took an oath to protect the POTUS. Obviously her word means nothing so why dump her on another agency? Fire her with no benefits. Put her in a uniform and put her in the front lines. I wonder if anyone would take a bullet for her.
Ahh yes, Federal Government Employee ´Administrative Leave". Say something stupid on Facebook and get indefinite, long term, PAID VACATION! Funny, that isn´t the way it works for all the private sector tax payers who pay the bills.
If you love your country, if you believe in the constitution, if you have moral clarity, it doesn´t matter if the person you serve and protect has a D or an R after their name. You do your job as a patriot of this great land of ours!
Obummer so destroyed American values that this kind of garbage will soon become routine. Thus, we see what used to be a proud and patriotic organization like the FBI, and even FISA, Homeland Security, etc. thinking nothing of leaking national security secrets if it pushes the liberal agenda. All integrity is off the table. Give a TRANSCRIPT of a private conversation to the press like it was nothing. Thus, our secret agents have now become flunkies for political purposes and pushing partisan agendas.
To set an new example, she should be FIRED and removed from the public payroll. PERIOD.
If a McDees employee said "I won´t make french fries", he/she would be fired. If a cabbie said, "I won´t pick up fares", he/she would be fired. She has said she will not do what the job requires, so fire her, already.
This is not rocket science, there are no fine points to worry about - she has said she will not do her most critical job. Gone.
What took so long? The minute that FaceBook entry was found, she should have been called in by her supervisor and if it was a true representation she should have been fired on the spot. PERIOD.
This is why the secret service is in such dire straits. The lapses in security are absolutely unacceptable. The secret service has become a politically correct agency concerned more with affirmative action policies than professionalism and a dedication to its mission. A whole lotta other agents probably are in need of finding other employment.
I wonder is people like the Kerry O´Grady ever think about the men and women that serve in our armed forces? And that everyone of them know full well that they are subject to enemy fire and as such just might "take one"? The only difference is it´s for one´s country. Oh, and it´s the Commander in Chief (that means the president no matter who it is) that sends them into harms way? Seems to me that a lot of O´Grady´s don´t really take time to think things through.
She was probably showing off for her buddies and had never been outside the Colorado branch. She probably was never considered for personal protection duty. During WW2 my grandmother was a special agent for the FBI and no one but grand father knew --not even her children. years later I found her badge while cleaning a cabinet for her. she told me the story. Her job was to keep airmen on off duty time safe from being lured into being robbed or murdered in or around bars and clubs --or questioned about the bases and routines while drugged or drunk. She matched the theme of having been a pistol packing mama.
Reminds me of the recent case where the intruder got all the way to the entry door of the White House and he just pushed aside the petite woman agent "guarding" the door and waltzed right into the White House! Sounds like less than Mall Security. I worked during the "cultural change" that brought little, weak women into law-enforcement and firefighting. A very sad time that greatly weakened our police and fire departments.
A day after a terror attack in his city left three people dead and as many as 40 wounded, London Mayor Sadiq Khan says he has more important things to do than respond to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr. Wednesday, President Trump´s son tweeted, "You have to be kidding me?!" in response Khan´s assertion in 2016 to The Independent newspaper that terror attacks are "part and parcel" of living in a major city. "I´m not going to respond to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr.," Khan told CNN´s Christiane Amanpour on Thursday. "I´ve been doing far more important things
Members of the Congressional Black Caucus went to the White House today for their first official meeting with President Donald Trump. The meeting, which comes five weeks after Trump asked a reporter at a press conference to help set up a discussion with the group, was organized primarily to discuss Trump’s new budget proposal, which Chairman Cedric Richmond, D-Louisiana, said at a press conference this afternoon would be “devastating” for the African-American community. Rep. Karen Bass, D-California, said that the group raised “several areas of concern” but added that it was a “positive first start.” According to Bass
American couple Kurt and Melissa Cochran were out for a romantic afternoon stroll across the River Thames on Wednesday to wrap up a dream tour of Europe for their 25th anniversary. At the same time, homegrown terrorist Khalid Masood was behind the wheel of a rented Hyundai barreling toward the span, bent on death and destruction. The couple from Utah never had a chance. The impact sent Kurt, a 54-year-old musician, plunging to his death onto a stone landing below the walkway. Melissa, 46, was left splayed out on the roadway, with a broken leg and rib and blood
The top U.S. general in Europe told lawmakers Thursday that he sees evidence Russia might be supplying the Taliban in an effort to undermine the United States, in what could be a significant turning point in the Afghanistan conflict. "I´ve seen the influence of Russia of late, increased influence in terms of association and perhaps even supply to the Taliban," Army Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, the head of the U.S. military´s European Command and the Supreme Allied Commander for NATO, told the Senate Armed Services Committee. Scaparotti did not specify what Moscow may have been supplying to the insurgents. Until now,
When it comes to repealing and replacing Obamacare, defenders of President Barack Obama´s signature domestic law constantly ask, "What about those with pre-existing illnesses?" After all, the most popular feature of Obamacare is that it prohibits insurance companies from denying coverage because an applicant has a pre-existing illness. And President Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan insist that those with pre-existing conditions will be covered. But by agreeing with Obama on the issue of pre-existing illnesses, by promising to replace Obamacare "with something better," Republicans are making a massive concession: That access to health care insurance should be guaranteed by
It’s been a while since I’ve agreed with the Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol, but he’s spot on here: [snip] Indeed, Speaker Paul Ryan (Wisconsin) could do worse than cancel the floor vote today on the American Health Care Act (a.k.a. RINOcare). In fact, expect the vote to be cancelled if the GOP leadership is far short of the 216 votes needed to pass RINOcare. If the vote goes forward, then they either have the votes or are just a handful away and will try to twist some arms on the House floor. How many votes the GOP leadership has is
The ever-charming Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democrats’ pit-bull Senate minority leader, said today that he will not vote to confirm Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court and that Democrats will filibuster the nomination. This is about as surprising as learning the sun will come up in the East tomorrow. Here’s how Schumer, as predictable as he is charming, phrased it: “After careful deliberation I have concluded that I cannot support Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court.” What a knee-slapper. Of course our all-partisan, all-the-time Chuck engaged in no “deliberation” at all
Sears is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. All department stores have faced increased competition from Amazon.com, but Sears is out of cash and about to fail. Why? Because the CEO, Eddie Lampert, is a guy with nutty ideas who treated Sears like a dotcom, conveniently forgetting that it has physical stores that need maintaining. (snip) It´s closing hundreds of stores. Others are in shambles, with leaking ceilings and broken escalators. In some, employees hang bedsheets to shield shoppers from sections that stand empty. Before Sears and Kmart, Lampert had no experience in retail. The big plan he hoped would transform Sears
A group of Senate Democrats is beginning to explore trying to extract concessions from Republicans in return for allowing Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch to be confirmed, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. The lawmakers worry that Gorsuch could be confirmed whether Democrats try to block him or not — and Democrats would be left with nothing to show for it. That would be a bitter pill after the GOP blocked Merrick Garland for nearly a year. The deal Democrats would be most likely to pursue, the sources said, would be to allow confirmation of Gorsuch in exchange for a
British Lawmaker Lord Digby Jones does not believe the religion of the London attacker is pertinent, The Washington Post reports. Jones comments come in the wake of a tweet by Donald Trump Jr. criticizing London Mayor Sadiq Khan for once telling citizens that terrorist attacks are “part and parcel” part of living in a big city. Some British lawmakers drew offense from the tweet, saying Trump was attacking the mayor in the midst of a terrorist situation. “You’re safer in London than you’ve ever been,” Jones declared. He continued, “If this turns out to be an act of Islamic terrorism,
Armed Police have opened fire and shot an intruder inside the grounds of the Houses of Parliament amid reports a car drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge. Several shots were fired at around 2.35pm moments after a loud bang was heard near the grounds of Parliament. Three bodies were visible on the floor outside Parliament and the Palace was placed on an immediate lock down. Others were seen lying in the road on Westminster Bridge, where reports suggest around six people were knocked down by a car. Prime Minister Theresa May is said to have been bundled into a car by a plain-clothes police
Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, is so New Jersey that her Secret Service codename is “Blueberry,” but what many may not know, is her grandfather allegedly belonged to the Mafia in the 80s. Jimmy “The Brute” DiNatale, Conway’s late grandfather, allegedly had mob ties and was a “significant criminal associate" of Nicodemo “Little Nicky” Scarfo – the heir to the Bruno crime family based in Philadelphia, according to a memorial service page and law enforcement officials who spoke to the Philly Voice. The page lists Kellyanne Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Conway as his granddaughter and describes DiNatale as “a reputed Bruno-Scarfo
As Republicans hail Judge Neil Gorsuch as an "outstanding" Supreme Court nominee, Democrats are lining up against him for partisan reasons. "My view is very simple," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told a news conference on Tuesday. "And that is, there is a cloud now hanging over the head of the president, and while that´s happening, to have a lifetime appointment made by this president seems unseemly, and there ought to be delay." (Video) (Earlier Tuesday, in remarks on the Senate floor, Schumer said it would be "unseemly" to move forward so fast with confirming Gorsuch while the "gray
Washington -- Communications of Donald Trump´s transition officials - possibly including the incoming president himself - may have been scooped up in legal surveillance but then improperly distributed throughout the intelligence community, the chairman of the House intelligence committee said Wednesday. In an extraordinary set of statements to reporters, Republican Rep. Devin Nunes said the intercepted communications do not appear to be related to the ongoing FBI investigation into Trump associates´ contacts with Russia or any criminal warrants. Nunes, who served on Trump´s transition team, said he believes the intelligence collections were done legally but that identities of Trump officials and the
