The Secret Service will permanently remove a top special agent from her position after an investigation into her Facebook comments that she would rather not defend President Trump or take "a bullet" from him, but some agents are concerned she will simply be transferred to another government job. About two weeks ago, the Secret Service placed the agent´s prior post — the special agent in charge of the Denver District, the top job in that office — on a list of agency openings, according to two Secret Service sources. Kerry O´Grady, the agent in question, is on administrative leave Please proofread before posting
Comments: Talking about double speak. She has been ´permanently removed´ yet somehow not ´fired.´
I have to wonder if this President wouldn´t be safer with a more dedicated and motivated cadre of highly trained professionals to protect him, like maybe SEALs or something similar.
The Secret Service as it stands has a difficult time even keeping intruders off the grounds. Further, if an SS agent won´t take a bullet for the President, how long do you think it might be before one of them decides to do something even more shockingly unthinkable. The thought is sickening but in this crazy world, nothing is outside of the realm of possibility.
Send her to Antarctica to find and take stool samples until she retires. That should keep her busy.
It´s time for elite military special operations units to protect the President as in this highly charged political climate there is some doubt that the Secret Service even has the legitimate authority anymore to effectively vet and weed out unqualified candidates for employment. In that respect if some Muslims of foreign origin were to apply, chances are a leftist judge would rule that the Secret Service must hire them, and put them on duty carrying firearms at the White House. These are crazy times with the enemy within being so active.
Top special agent? Really? She has to be one of those affirmative hires from the socialist/communist ranks who got personally promoted through the ranks by Barry himself. No wonder the SS can´t seem to do their job.
Send this moron to the Adak Alaska Field Office and have her investigate penny coin counterfeiters. Sad to say that when I was in California I worked with high level government employees like O´Shady Grady. Ignorant hard to fire political hacks who disgrace themselves with their own overblown sense of self-importance. They just can´t do their job and get on with it. They have to grandstand. In a clerical gub´ment job this is bad but in a job like O´Grady´s it´s worse. She should be FIRED and not allowed to retire with benefit´s. She´s truly a dishonorable and pathetic person.
She should not be transferred to Alaska like previous commenters have suggested; she should be fired and stripped of all law enforcement credentials. Then she should be prevented from ever gaining a security-type job again. I´d also closely review her license for carrying a weapon and suggest she have it revoked for showing signs of mental unfitness.
That´s what the left would do and we need to start fighting the war instead of thinking we´ll win by taking some high road that doesn´t exist and only takes us out of the way so the left can put another anti-American in the post just like the one they´ve sort of removed.
Most federal workers are Dems/Lefties and that includes those employed by law enforcement and the intel agencies so don´t think that the USSS is special in that they put their politics aside - not anymore at least.
This woman took an oath to protect the POTUS. Obviously her word means nothing so why dump her on another agency? Fire her with no benefits. Put her in a uniform and put her in the front lines. I wonder if anyone would take a bullet for her.
Ahh yes, Federal Government Employee ´Administrative Leave". Say something stupid on Facebook and get indefinite, long term, PAID VACATION! Funny, that isn´t the way it works for all the private sector tax payers who pay the bills.
If you love your country, if you believe in the constitution, if you have moral clarity, it doesn´t matter if the person you serve and protect has a D or an R after their name. You do your job as a patriot of this great land of ours!
Obummer so destroyed American values that this kind of garbage will soon become routine. Thus, we see what used to be a proud and patriotic organization like the FBI, and even FISA, Homeland Security, etc. thinking nothing of leaking national security secrets if it pushes the liberal agenda. All integrity is off the table. Give a TRANSCRIPT of a private conversation to the press like it was nothing. Thus, our secret agents have now become flunkies for political purposes and pushing partisan agendas.
To set an new example, she should be FIRED and removed from the public payroll. PERIOD.
If a McDees employee said "I won´t make french fries", he/she would be fired. If a cabbie said, "I won´t pick up fares", he/she would be fired. She has said she will not do what the job requires, so fire her, already.
This is not rocket science, there are no fine points to worry about - she has said she will not do her most critical job. Gone.
What took so long? The minute that FaceBook entry was found, she should have been called in by her supervisor and if it was a true representation she should have been fired on the spot. PERIOD.
This is why the secret service is in such dire straits. The lapses in security are absolutely unacceptable. The secret service has become a politically correct agency concerned more with affirmative action policies than professionalism and a dedication to its mission. A whole lotta other agents probably are in need of finding other employment.
I wonder is people like the Kerry O´Grady ever think about the men and women that serve in our armed forces? And that everyone of them know full well that they are subject to enemy fire and as such just might "take one"? The only difference is it´s for one´s country. Oh, and it´s the Commander in Chief (that means the president no matter who it is) that sends them into harms way? Seems to me that a lot of O´Grady´s don´t really take time to think things through.
She was probably showing off for her buddies and had never been outside the Colorado branch. She probably was never considered for personal protection duty. During WW2 my grandmother was a special agent for the FBI and no one but grand father knew --not even her children. years later I found her badge while cleaning a cabinet for her. she told me the story. Her job was to keep airmen on off duty time safe from being lured into being robbed or murdered in or around bars and clubs --or questioned about the bases and routines while drugged or drunk. She matched the theme of having been a pistol packing mama.
Reminds me of the recent case where the intruder got all the way to the entry door of the White House and he just pushed aside the petite woman agent "guarding" the door and waltzed right into the White House! Sounds like less than Mall Security. I worked during the "cultural change" that brought little, weak women into law-enforcement and firefighting. A very sad time that greatly weakened our police and fire departments.
There’s been a lot of reporting in the past week-plus about potential White House shake-ups when President Trump returns from his foreign trip, and one of those reports today says Reince Priebus might be out soon. Some reports have said the White House is planning a “war room” of sorts to start fighting back more aggressively, and The Washington Post is reporting today that the president has “expressed frustration — both publicly and privately — with his communications team.” But the WaPo report also says Priebus may be leaving the White House: Underscoring the uncertainty of what lies ahead, some
Administration officials close to President Trump are reportedly pushing White House advisor Jared Kushner to take a leave of absence amidst recent reports that he is under FBI scrutiny. The FBI is reportedly interested in Kushner as part of its investigation into Russia’s meddling in the presidential election. A Sunday report on ABC News’ “This Week” said members of the Trump circle are wondering if Kushner will need to step aside. [snip] Reports last week said Kushner, who is also Trump’s son-in-law, had come under scrutiny in the FBI’s Russia probe over his contacts with the Russian ambassador and a
French President Emmanuel Macron acknowledged to a French newspaper that his intense handshake with President Trump ahead of the NATO summit in Brussels "wasn´t innocent," but instead was meant as a show of resolve, The Associated Press reported Sunday. "One must show that you won´t make small concessions, even symbolic ones, but also not over-publicize things, either," he told Le Journal du Dimanche, according to the AP. The handshake between Macron and Trump on Thursday drew attention for its visible intensity, with both pairs of knuckles turning white from pressure. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) coordinated with the University of Massachusetts Amherst to respond to a student who had pleaded for the senator´s help after having her request to carry the Tibetan flag to a commencement ceremony rejected by the school, according to emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Tibetan-American student Kalsang Nangpa was barred by UMass from carrying Tibet´s flag during the university´s annual "Parade of Nations." The administration told Nangpa that because the U.S. State Department does not recognize Tibet as a sovereign nation, her request to carry its flag would be denied. "This response I got
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has declined a request to host an event to mark Islam´s holy month of Ramadan, two U.S. officials said, apparently breaking with a bipartisan tradition in place with few exceptions for nearly 20 years. Since 1999, Republican and Democratic secretaries of state have nearly always hosted either an iftar dinner to break the day´s fast during Ramadan or a reception marking the Eid al-Fitr holiday at the end of the month, at the State Department. Tillerson turned down a request from the State Department´s Office of Religion and Global Affairs to host an Eid al-Fitr
Former House Speaker John Boehner said he thinks the vast majority of Donald Trump’s presidency has been a “complete disaster” during a recent energy conference in Houston, Texas. Boehner, who resigned from his Ohio House seat in October 2015, applauded Trump’s approach to foreign policy — praising his decision to take a strong stand against the Islamic State — but was highly critical of the progress he has made in other areas thus far. “Everything else he’s done [in office] has been a complete disaster,” he said Wednesday, according to energy publication Rigzone. “He’s still learning how to be president.” Boehner and Trump
In a move that undermines claims that he is controlled by the Kremlin, President Donald Trump will keep in place sanctions that the Obama administration imposed against Russia as punishment for Moscow’s alleged interference in the U.S. presidential election. The Trump administration is currently conducting a full review its Russia policy, but the president will continue the sanctions, top White House economic advisor Gary Cohn said Friday. The U.S. enacted the measures a month before Trump took office, and administration critics have fretted he would lift the sanctions in an effort to draw Washington closer to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A free-thinking group of eighth grades refused to pose with House Speaker Paul Ryan during a field trip to Washington DC on Thursday. Half of the students from South Orange Middle School in New Jersey stood on the other side of the street as their classmates had their photo taken with Ryan outside the United States Capitol. When he uploaded the image to Instagram, the ones who had refused to be in it flooded the comments section with insults and complaints. ´Half of us stood across the street including me because we hate you,´ said one. Another spoke to DailyMail.com
Earth is likely to reach more dangerous levels of warming even sooner if the U.S. retreats from its pledge to cut carbon dioxide pollution, scientists said. That’s because America contributes so much to rising temperatures. President Donald Trump, who once proclaimed global warming a Chinese hoax, said in a tweet Saturday that he would make his “final decision” this coming week on whether the United States stays in or leaves the 2015 Paris climate change accord in which nearly every nation agreed to curb its greenhouse gas emissions. Leaders of seven wealthy democracies, at a summit in Sicily, urged Trump
After entering the White House in 2009, President Barack Obama went on his famous “apology” tour. Now, Hillary Clinton, having failed to win the White House in 2016, is currently on an “I’m owed an apology” tour. In an interview for an article by New York Magazine published Friday, Clinton has apparently moved past “gracious Hillary” and “relaxed in the woods Hillary” and has now moved into “angry Hillary” mode. (Snip) In the New York Magazine article, called “Hillary Clinton Is Furious. And Resigned. And Funny. And Worried,” the predominant mood is the fury — not the resignation, worry, or her
Angela Merkel has stunningly claimed Europe can no longer rely on the US, just one day Donald Trump frustrated world leaders at the G7 meeting in Italy. The German Chancellor urged the European Union to stick together in the face of new uncertainty stemming from the US and other challenges. Merkel said Sunday at a campaign event in Bavaria: ´The times in which we can fully count on others are somewhat over, as I have experienced in the past few days.´ The comments came after the G7 countries were unable to agree to a deal that would see the 2015
(Video) Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said the public was “getting weary” that Democrats have not done enough to begin the process of impeaching President Donald Trump. Partial transcript as follows: REID: Congresswoman, on the subject of being more aggressive, you have openly talked about the fact that this president has put himself in a position where impeachment is on the table but your party, the Democratic party is very reluctant, The New York Times has an article out last week about how hesitant Democratic leadership, in particular, are to call for Donald Trump’s impeachment. Hillary Clinton’s inner circle is concerned that the “resistance” that cropped up in the wake of President Donald Trump’s electoral win isn’t embracing the failed Democratic Presidential candidate as their de facto leader. As of late, Hillary has taken to marketing herself as the leader of the anti-Trump resistance, Tweeting about her defeat, haranguing Trump in public appearances and “persisting” despite her loss. It’s clear from Clinton’s Twitter feed, paid speeches, and comments that she wants to lead the mostly female opposition to Trump’s policy agenda. But according to sources close to Clinton’s inner circle, she’s yet again failing in
