The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC,) which advocates for digital privacy, has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission over the 2012 Facebook mood manipulation study. EPIC claims Facebook violated laws when it conducted this experiment, as users did not know they were being studied, and did not give their consent. The formal complaint states, "At the time of the experiment, Facebook did not state in the Data Use Policy that user data would be used for research purposes. Facebook also failed to inform users that their personal information would be shared with researchers." While Facebook has not issued an

Facebook is a dumb place to do a broad based study on or about, when they´re mostly a bunch of unemployed, drunk ,stoned derelicts.Going to the beer place is the high light of the day after checking to see if Obama has any new freebies on the way.

I thought this is against the law. Nothing will happen because Zuckerberg is a big donor to the Dems and DOJ will look the other way. Watch.

The Iconic WWI Vehicle That

When the First World War began in June 1914, the automobile was in the middle of its awkward teen years. The vehicles had popped up in the hands of the wealthy and early adopters, and Henry Ford had just started mass production of the Model T. But getting around on horseback was still the go-to mode of transportation. The war helped change that. World War I was shaped by a whole pile of new vehicles were born of developed during the fours years of conflict. One hundred years after the start of the war, we’re taking a look back at

Illegal immigration is a money-maker

With illegal immigrant leaders picketing the White House, screaming demands that President Obama include them in “any future negotiations;” with the possibly orchestrated influx of unaccompanied children from Central America jumping the U.S. border with questionable motives; and with the White House gleefully doing anything it wants and taunting the Republicans into a suicidal impeachment frenzy over the failed rule of law, American politics is degenerating into a surreal drama of criminal hubris, strategic cunning and livid stupidity. The impeachment rage is easy to quench by a constitutional reminder: a simple majority vote by the Republican-controlled House could easily pass

In the early hours of Saturday morning, under the cover of the Mediterranean darkness, US warships quietly moved into place off the North African coast. We can’t say how many, but among them were a destroyer, the USS Ross, and a guided-missile cruiser, the USS Vella Gulf. At about the same time, three F16 fighter jets took off from Aviano Air Base in Italy and headed south, along with two MV-22 Osprey transport planes carrying a full complement of rapid reaction force marines from another US base in Italy, Sigonella. Surveillance drones circled overhead, and in support flew a KC-135

FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. has barred a shipment of Kurdish crude oil from reaching the Texas coast amid concerns independent oil sales from Kurdistan could further weaken Iraq´s fragile central government as it struggles to contain a Sunni military offensive. A U.S. District judge ordered a U.S. Marshal to seize the cargo — about 1 million barrels of crude oil, worth about $100 million — aboard the tanker United Kalavryta in response to a complaint filed by the Iraqi government claiming the oil was smuggled out of Kurdistan without its permission. However, the tanker, anchored some 60 miles off the

BAMAKO, Mali — The cash filled three suitcases: 5 million euros. The German official charged with delivering this cargo arrived here aboard a nearly empty military plane and was whisked away to a secret meeting with the president of Mali, who had offered Europe a face-saving solution to a vexing problem. Officially, Germany had budgeted the money as humanitarian aid for the poor, landlocked nation of Mali. In truth, all sides understood that the cash was bound for an obscure group of Islamic extremists who were holding 32 European hostages, according to six senior diplomats directly involved in the exchange.

Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl could meet next week with the general who´s looking into how the now-freed prisoner of war was captured by the Taliban in 2009, his attorney said. Attorney Eugene Fidell told CNN he will know for sure next week exactly when the meeting will take place. When it happens, it´ll be the first meeting between Bergdahl and Maj. Gen. Kenneth Dahl who is the point person for the Army´s investigation. The 28-year-old soldier spent five years in the hands of Taliban militants after he disappeared in Afghanistan in June 2009. After he was released in May in exchange for five senior

A statement put out today by President Barack Obama on the occasion of a religious holiday is raising some eyebrows. The holiday is a Muslim one called "Eid-al-Fitr" and the statement says: his last month has been a time of fasting, reflection, spiritual renewal, and service to the less fortunate. While Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, it also celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity and reinforces the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other, especially those impacted by poverty, conflict, and disease. In the United States, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to

Like many on the right, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer is politically opposed to impeaching President Barack Obama. But on Tuesday, he declared that legally, the rumored White House order granting amnesty to as many as 6 million illegal immigrants “would be an impeachable offense” — and Obama’s talk of impeachment may be a way to preempt that pushback. Krauthammer spoke with Fox News’s Bret Baier on a panel with The Hill’s A.B. Stoddard and Fox News contributor Juan Williams. The group discussed the impeachment buzz swirling around Washington, which most observers agree is being ginned up by Democrats eager for

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told Fusion TV´s Jorge Ramos that part of the reason Hamas hides rockets in schools and civilian areas is "Gaza is small." "I´m not a military planner but Hamas puts it´s missiles, it´s rockets in civilian areas, part of it is Gaza is pretty small and its densely populated," she said as neglecting the question of whether or not Hamas should have rockets in area to begin with.

Javier Bardem did not hold back on his feelings of disgust regarding the escalating violence in the Israeli-Palestine conflict. In an open letter sent out to the Spanish media over the weekend, he called Israel’s actions against Gaza a “genocide” and said he was outraged and ashamed by the "brutality" of the attacks. “In the horror happening right now in Gaza there is NO place for distance or neutrality,” Bardem wrote in the letter. “It’s a way of occupation and extermination waged against a people with no means, confined in a minimum territory, with no water, and where hospitals, ambulances and children

Washington – During an awards ceremony at the White House, President Barack Obama whispered in the ear of superstar musician Linda Ronstadt that he once had a crush on her. The President admitted to the crowd afterwards that, "I told Linda Ronstadt I had a crush on her back in the day " Ronstadt joined Obama on stage, along with 11 other recipients of the 2013 National Medal of Arts. No word from the singer of such hits as "You´re no good," "Desperado," "It´s so easy," and "Blue Bayou," on what she said back to the President. Obama also thanked

Malaysian politician says that including dogs in opening ceremony was ´disrespectful to Malaysia and Muslims´. The Commonwealth Games, which opened last week in Glasgow, Scotland in the presence of the Queen, was, like all sporting events these days, ushered into existence to the accompaniment of a lavish and visually impressive opening ceremony. But amidst the dancing mechanical giants and gay kisses, the organizers also sought to celebrate Scottishness by having each team led out by Scottie dogs wearing tartan coats embroidered with the name of the team. Social media, predictably, fell in love with the doggies, however now political and

You can understand President Obama´s current political problems -- and how those problems could make things very tough for his party in this fall´s midterm election -- in a single word. And that word is "competence". Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government. He pitched himself as the antidote to "Heck of a job, Brownie" and the Bush years, the person who would always put the most qualified candidate in every job in his Administration. That the basic functioning of government would never be in question. Almost six years on from
