Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said he might not be good at calculus, but he knows how to legislate. Reid told The Huffington Post that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is smart, but he can’t outmaneuver the 26-year veteran in the halls of Congress. “He might be able to work a calculus problem better than I can,” Reid said Thursday. “But he can´t legislate better than I can." Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) are credited with brokering the deal that ended the government shutdown. Reid said the House’s decision to go along with a deal to end

It´s not hard to out-legislate when you have the RINOs in your pocket.

Give him time Harry. In the end, my money´s on Cruz.

He doesn´t need RINOs, he has 51 votes and he gets to chose what they vote on. This isn´t legislating, it is dictating.

I don´t think Ted Cruz has any intention of ever legislating anything. That´s not why he´s in the Senate.

That may be true. Harry should make the best of the time he has left.

Ted is only 42 and Harry is 73! Ted will be around a long time after Harry is gone.

The puerile Reid sounds like the boys--the janitor´s nightmare--in grammar school who stand giggling at the far end of the urinal and compete over who can shoot a stream the farthest, with the goal of overshooting the trough by several yards. There´s pride at stake, you see. And cleaning up Reid´s mess will be much more difficult and expensive than what the janitor, cursing under his breath, had to do with his mop and disinfectant in the Boys´ Head.

There are arrows left in Cruz´s quiver. The House can continue to pass spending bills by department covering no growth budgets with the already agreed upon sequester cuts. Harry Reid´s dodge of stripping defunding language does not allow him to add funding. That would require him to get 60 votes for an amendment on the floor. This show down will begin again in December, so Cruz has time to rally the House conservatives.

What that idiot Reid doesn´t understand is that the country needs less legislation not more! Unless of course it is legislation de-funding or eliminating other legislation. These fools in Congress think that the more legislation they pass the better job they are doing. Stop with all the rules and regulations you are killing America!

A prior poster mentioned how the Republican establishment´s candidate could have beaten Dingy Harry.

Well, if the establishment Nevada Republicans had supported Sharron Angle, she would have beaten Dingy Harry. Seems the establishment Republicans had no problem whipping Dingy Harry´s spawn in the government race that year.

As for the recent kerfluffle, it is obvious Harry Reid can out-legislate and out-negotiate establishment Republican surrender monkeys like Mitch McConnell who can easily be bought off with a dam.

And this is what Cruz, and other Republicans need to repeat over and over....

"Sen. Reid bragged the other day how he could out legislate me. Funny, I wasn´t looking for legislation schemes, I was looking to help the American people get out from under the Train Wreck of Obamacare. And I was willing to just take a reasonable 1 year delay, but that wasn´t acceptable to Sen. Reid and the Democrats. They didn´t care about, you, the average individual trying to navigate the legislation the Democrats rammed through without even reading. It was all about politics to the Democrats. What a shame."

We need to turn this whole thing around and blame it on the Democrats for not even accepting a reasonable 1 year delay to get things right.
Show how GOP was trying to be reasonable.

Calculus? how about addition and subtraction?

And just passing legislation is not a very good gauge of a good leader, it must be good legislation and Harry, you don´t pass good legislation, you sit on it.

A man was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in a Friday shooting that left a 40-year-old man in the Brainerd neighborhood with six gunshot wounds. Deontae C. CLEARWATER — In the mid-1970s, Wayne Phillips saw a television program telling the story of the Shroud of Turin, a centuries-old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. At first, he was miffed. Years of Catholic schooling — Jesuit High School in Tampa and Notre Dame University — and he had never known about this artifact? (He would later learn that it was a delicate subject at the Vatican.) A doctor, he has a curious mind. A mind shaped by logic and by science. WASHINGTON — IT’S weird to be jealous of your car. But I am. Men look at my car with such naked lust, their eyes devouring the curves and chrome, that I often feel as though I’m intruding on an intimate moment. Women like it, too. California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan
