For reasons no one with an IQ above room temperature needs spelled out, both federal and state laws protect the anonymity of jurors. Monday morning on CNN, though, anchor Carol Costello said, "I understand [the jury´s desire to remain anonymous] during trial, but after the trial when everything is over -- we live in a transparent society, should jurors remain anonymous?" This, as the chyron screamed (see above) about the "countless questions" that remain unanswered.
Comments: I swore to myself I wouldn´t post any Zimmerman stuff ... but I couldn´t pass this one up! The gall of CNN!
Perhaps CNN should run a crawl of all the death threats directed at the jury. These people would be targeted by murderous mobs whipped up by our own Federal government, race hustlers and the current President of the United States.
And the prosecutors were on ABC, shamelessly saying they are still convinced Zimmerman hunted down Trayvon and shot him, meaning that the jurors were idiots for not buying their phony and emotional narrative.
In any other case, prosecutors have the good sense to simply thank the jury for their verdict and then shut up. It is highly unethical for them to try to continue to prosecute the case in the media.
The ´legal analyst´ on CNN Sunny Hosting said yesterday that we are still waiting to hear from the jury on these issues. Mark Geragos promptly informed her that we have heard from the jury. Two words - Not Guilty! That´s all we needed to hear.
#1, it´a doubtful that ms. costello can READ "cursive". I believe that´s in the job description to toil there, along with selling your immortal soul to the dark one. And cnn wonders why their ratings continue to go down the old swirly bowl? Pathetic losers.
I was once on a Grand Jury for 3 months. At one point we heard a case about a Mafia mob boss who was very, very famous in his day. His daughter was being called in to testify against a family member. She was an extremely hostile witness who bold-faced lied the entire time. Imagine our concern as we had our name-cards in front of us as she looked around the room making direct eye contact? It´s a creepy feeling and very intimidating.
These people in the news business are beyond sickening, they´re evil.
Trayvon´s illegal lifestyle continues to be scrubbed by the media and the majority of their biased "analysts "-Sonny Hostin being the black Nancy Grace. They continue to purposefully lie about the evidence presented and to promote the fallacy that an evil white man gunned down a black toddler. The black CNN analysts continue to stoke racial hatred by saying all innocent black children are now at risk of being killed by whites. It´s unconscionable..but, it´s CNN. They don´t care about the lives of the children of the white jurors. Did these same people demand the names and addresses of the OJ jurors ? This is a tactic to scare future jurors when a defendant is black.
On December 10th, 76-year old Leon Winder found a burglar hiding in his closet. He opened fire and later told reporters, "I was firing on him and he couldn´t say nothing." According to WVEC of Norfolk, Virginia, Winder called 911 after hearing strange noises in his home. When Winder went into a barbershop attached to his house he found a coat on the floor. As he bent down to pick it up, he saw 37-year old John Buck Fields hiding in the closet and shot at him twice. Said Winder, "He didn´t say nothing. I was firing on him and he couldn't say nothing." The wounded burglar fled the house and was later captured by police.
A book advising newly-wed women on how to be "submissive" has become a publishing phenomenon in Spain while outraging feminists who have called for it to be banned. The polemic book by married Italian author Costanza Miriano titled ´Cásate y sé sumisa – Get Married and Be Submissive – was published by the Catholic Arbishopric of the southern city of Granada in November and soared up the bestseller list. The book, which was a bestseller in Italy, preaches a message of "loyal obedience, generosity and submission" on the part of the new wife and offers nuggets of advice for the newly-wed on how to please one's husband.
Like Senate Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX), the GOP primary challenger to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), has exempted his staff from Obamacare. In late October, the Washington Times reported that Stockman “said his staff unanimously voted to reject Obamacare enrollment, saying the law subsidizes abortion and is a ‘Ponzi scheme’ that forces young people to pay more for health care.” “Mr. Stockman´s spokesman, Donny Ferguson, said the staff will be designated as ‘not official’ and keep the federal plan,” the Times reported before quoting Ferguson: “I hope Obama will appreciate us doing our part to
WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama´s top health official is asking for an investigation into the administration´s botched rollout of HealthCare.gov. The website was supposed to have been the online portal to insurance coverage under the new health care law, but technical problems turned it into a frustrating bottleneck for millions of consumers. It´s working better now after two months of repairs. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a blog post early Wednesday that she is asking the department´s inspector general to investigate the contracting process, management and performance and payment issues that may have contributed to
Once there was a boy so meek and modest, he was awarded a Most Humble badge. The next day, It was taken away because he wore it. Here endeth the lesson. How do you practice humility from the most exalted throne on earth? Rarely has a new player on the world stage captured so much attention so quickly—young and old, faithful and cynical—as has Pope Francis. In his nine months in office, he has placed himself at the very center of the central conversations of our time: about wealth and poverty, fairness and justice, transparency, modernity, globalization, the role of
A village in Madagascar has been hit by a deadly outbreak of the bubonic plague, medical experts on the island have confirmed. Test were carried out after at least 20 people in the village, near the north-western town of Mandritsara, were reported to have died last week. The International Committee of the Red Cross warned in October that Madagascar was at risk of a plague epidemic. The disease is transmitted to humans via fleas, usually from rats. Bubonic plague, known as the Black Death when it killed an estimated 25 million people in Europe during the Middle Ages, is now
Addressing a Government Accountability Institute report that found that President Barack Obama has not had a single one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since Obamacare passed over three years ago, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush said that if Obama and Sebelius met as regularly as they claimed, the White House would have the records to prove it. Appearing on Fox News´s The Kelly File on Monday, Marc Thiessen, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush and a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, said that "every single meeting the president has" is
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
